Reborn As A Haier-Elvian: The Blood Hunter And The Warlock (Replace To New Account)
Chapter 02 "My Problem Starts Now"

My hand held onto the thing in my hand, an old, rusty pin in the shape of a star. The size is similar to the old hundred rupiah coin which has a leather puppet carving next to its side. My eyes were fixed on the rough strokes and scribbles surrounding one side, which seemed to be a sentence writing.

These letters are not alphabets as they are commonly known, but rather similar to ancient scripts. This streak is too neat and perfect to say just a mere whimper.

At least I know this is not a Javanese or Sundanese script, because I already know the form of both characters even though I do not understand it very well. This article is also not from Japan, China, or Korea. Maybe it comes from another region, or it could be from another part of the world. I don't know. Due to the limitations of science, my head hurts when I think too much about it.

"Woi, why are you staying there, damn it!? You're not cold? If you want to die one more time, whatever! But don't expect me to help you again!" yelled Dimas from a distance.

"Sorry, wait for me!"

I hurriedly put the star pin into the back pocket of my trousers, then went after the man who had walked down the small path to return to camp. Not much different as before, I had a little trouble crossing this stone-filled path and the roots of the trees. But at least I got through it faster. Because I just followed Dimas's footsteps in front of me.

As soon as we arrived at the camp, the smell of grilled fish meat instantly pierced my nostrils. Inviting hunger in the cold that enveloped my wet body. Next to the bonfire, Indra put some freshly baked fish on a plastic plate. Then prepare to put other fish to the grill that is above the coals of the fire. Sister Shella was the first to realize our whereabouts.

"Oh, you guys back? Wait, Dimas! Did you go to the river to wash your clothes or take a shower?" The woman showed an expression of surprise when she saw your condition. "Oh my goodness, Anggi! Why are you getting wet too?"

"It's all because of this fool! He can't swim, but he really wants to play water. So inevitably I helped him when he was almost washed away earlier," Dimas replied tightly. He seems very upset. The man did not hesitate as he snorted in front of my nose.

"You should have let him drown. Don't bother saving people who are looking to die!" sahut Kak Indra who was beside the dancing bonfire.

"Have anyway. But I remember he still owed me a hundred grand. So I had to, I had to save her." The furious dimas led directly to the tent belonging to the two of us which was set up a few meters from the campfire.

The man indeed let out sharp words. I would lie if I said it didn't hurt my feelings. But I didn't put it in my heart. Because I know he didn't really say that. I know the habits of my close friends. Although his nature was a bit harsh, in fact the man was a very caring person. Otherwise, there's no way he'll save me from drowning before. Then scold me if you don't worry about me. Arguably, its rugged nature is a shield that covers its soft nature inside.

One more thing, I'll pay my debt later.

I followed Dimas towards the tent. Take a change of clothes from the bag, then change my wet clothes. Don't forget to take the mysterious star pin and put it in my pants pocket I just wore. Of course I changed behind a big tree that was near here. Because I feel a little embarrassed when my thin, dry body is seen by others. Unlike Dimas who casually changed clothes in front of the tent. It was as if he was showing off his body to the others. It is precisely Kak Shella and other female members who turn their faces because they feel ashamed of themselves.

After changing clothes, we joined the rest of our friends. Where all the members of karate were participating, had gathered near the bonfire. There was a man who was helping to bake the fish. He is Kak Erik, a classmate of Kak Indra who is often called "Si Jawa" because of his homeland. There are also twins Vian and Vani who are in the same class with me. So identical, people may often mistake them.

The atmosphere is getting more crowded and fun. Because in the middle of cooking together, there are only one or two people who like to joke or funny suddenly. Which becomes the material of their jokes can be anything. But most often are the funny events of eskul karate in the past. As a new member, of course it caught my attention. I just found out that Indra was wearing a cheerleader uniform.

The incident was when the man challenged his upperclassman back then. He also lost. As punishment, the man was told to wear the uniform of the eskul cheerleader. Brother Erik who joined the club eskul from the beginning, showed a photo of Kak Indra who was wearing the uniform all-round "bling-bling" to everyone.

Shaded, right? When Sangar's face and muscular body wrapped in super cute clothes. Everyone laughed at it too. While Kak Indra who held the shame, tried to chase and hit the person who made his picture.

Because of the pleasant atmosphere and the togetherness of all these people, I could feel the warmth in my heart. A unique thing I rarely feel. I'm very lucky to be accepted as a part of them. This is what I'm going to do to move forward.

About an hour later, the dinner was over. There were some people who were assigned to wash the tableware, some were given the task of cleaning up the firewood that had been collected. As for me, be in the 'do nothing' section and stay in place. Between not needing my help or just going to trouble the others, I was placed in this section for that reason.

Dimas came to me after finishing putting together firewood near the camp. Then sit on the mat, next to me. Grab a packet of corn chips from Indra, then eat it just like that. Not forgetting that he offered and handed the snack to me.

"No need! I'm full already."

"Is that? Too bad! These chips are delicious!" His voice did not sound so clear while his mouth was full.

"Those chips you said were delicious, mine know!" Indra's sister, who disliked her food, was taken from her hands, taking back what belonged to her.

"But a great spy, anyway! I'm just asking!"

Feeling his protest being ignored by Indra, Dimas bravely snorted in annoyance right behind his back. The one who saw it couldn't help but laugh. I think it's pretty funny when Dimas sulks like that. Like a little boy snooping on his mother.

"Why are you laughing?" Dimas raised his eyebrows.

"It's nothing. Can't do it, huh?" I answered with a thin smile. The man fell silent while looking at me deeply. It was as if there was something on my face that caught his attention. He didn't say anything to me either. For a long time I felt a little uncomfortable because of it. "What's wrong? Is there something strange on my face?"

"I've seen you like this a lot, but let me tell you this time."

"You're like a girl. From the way you speak, your voice, your thoughts, and your attitude, I feel like I'm dealing with a woman."

"Just kid! I'm a real man, you know!"

"I'm sure that if you dress up like a girl, there will be a lot of men who are interested in you."

"W-What the hell are you!!?" my protest loudly.

A loud laughter escaped from his mouth. "Luck it! I was just kidding. Seeing you angry like that is funny. I really can't stop laughing. Very funny!"

The laughing dimas became the center of attention of others. Fortunately, the conversation was just between the two of us. If it were widespread, I would be very embarrassed. Maybe I will follow the actions of Brother Indra before, chasing and trying to hit the person beside me.

However, if you think about it carefully, it may be true what he said. I myself feel that my nature is sometimes similar to that of women.

It was because I was raised and nurtured by a mother and two older sisters. I left my family for another woman when I was a kid. The heartache that was scratched so deeply made the mother decide not to marry again until now. So I don't know what it's like to have a father and be raised by a man.

Putting myself aside, I think badly of all men. But my outlook changed after meeting Dimas. Not only protecting me who is always bullied by others. It is always good for everyone too. Once upon a time there was a kitten that fell into the river, and he saved it without caring about the torrent and the rain that fell. I'm touched. It was like seeing a real hero in the real world. Maybe that's what makes me want to be like him.

Since then I have followed him wherever he went, and tried to follow all his traits and say. This little heart wishes that I could be comparable to Dimas. But no matter how often I follow him, I can never get close to a person I admire. I had to accept the fact that there was a great wall of separation between me and her.

Nevertheless, my desire remains unchanged. I want both my mental and physical strength. I want to have great courage and passion. I also want to be useful to others. I can't deny that I want to be some kind of hero, exactly like someone I admire. Although it took me a long time to reach it, I will keep trying. No matter how much time I spend.

"H-Hey, stupid!" I was suddenly startled by Dimas's rising voice. The man also shook my body to break my daydream. As I turned to her, her surprised expression was directed at my lower body. "See that!"

I immediately followed the direction his gaze was heading. A shiny beam of light shone brightly from the back pocket of my pants. So bright to penetrate the sidelines of the pants. I was standing up as fast as I could. Then remembered that it was where I kept the mysterious hexagon-star pin after changing clothes. While trying to take that thing very carefully and slowly, I felt the gazes of everyone who was around. It's freaky. I thought no one could see the light from this pin but me.

A dazzling golden-yellow light emanated from between my hands. The intensity is too big. Even the dark trees seemed to have their own light after being doused in the light. Even the campfire that was originally the source of the illumination here, became nothing when compared to that star pin. I closed my eyes with the other hand because this pin was too blind to my vision.

"What's that thing, Anggi?" asked Sister Shella who also blocked his view to not look at him directly.

"Eitherway. I just picked it up."

Everyone was silent and stunned by the light that radiated from within my grasp. I am too. Because this thing shines brighter than when it is at the bottom of the river.

"I feel a bad feeling from that thing. I think you should get it back where it belongs!"

Anxiety appeared on Kak Shella's face. The woman bit her lower lip. I looked at the people around me. Even though no one spoke, their facial expressions showed the similarity of one voice. Same with Dimas. The man nodded to express his agreement. Maybe from the beginning, I really shouldn't just pick up just about anything just out of curiosity.

Because of this rather chaotic situation, I intend to do Kak Shella's proposal. I clasped the pin of the star tightly, intending to return it to the bottom of the river. I caught all the light with my hands, though there was still some radiating through between my fingers.

Suddenly, I felt a very painful feeling. The palm I used to hold the hexagon-star pin was heating up. I opened my palm immediately. I snorted as I found the glowing pin slowly entering my body. Ignoring the rest of the world, my eyes were fixated on the scene that left me shocked to death.

A moment later, that thing disappeared. Leaving traces on the palms as well as hot steam that somehow continuously came out of my body.

"What's this!!?" my peek. Unable to endure the heat that was burning my hands for longer, I shouted. Grimacing in pain and crying so much that he fell to the ground. Hot steam continued to billow out of my arms and continued to envelop my body.

"Pig!!"

The first person to approach me was Dimas. He took my hand and tried to water it with mineral water. But instead of extinguishing, the burning sensation actually becomes more and more. Even the heat spread to my arms and body. Some people try to flush my body with water. However, as if dousing gasoline over the coals, it actually worsened the pain. The heat had burned my whole body.

I was rolling on the ground while shouting. My body seemed to be placed on the grill with a burning fire, and the parable almost became real. My whole body is flushed. Not like people who have just sunbathed on the beach, but more like charcoal with embers that are still burning. In some parts, my charred skin began to crack and peel.

The pain quickly spread throughout my body and my inner organs. Until I was no longer strong enough to move and scream. My whole body is numb. My eyes are only friends with black. My ears can no longer hear the sound. The smell of charred meat, last remembered by my nose.

"Why did this happen to me? Is it my fault it has to be like this?"
