“Manggala ... already gone?” Genphis lost his energy. His body suddenly felt weak.
“Iya, Tea. He didn't tell me anything either. Do not know again if the same Father or Mother, yes,” said Diwan.
“Then ... can I talk to Aunt Royani?” asked Gendhis while holding back the cry.
“Oke, Tea. Wait a minute, yes,” said Diwan, then silence for a while until a soft voice Royani greeted Gendhis.
“Ya, hello? What's up, son Genphis?” asked Royani softly.
“Bi-can I ask for Manggala's phone number, Auntie? I'd love to talk to him,” pinta Gendhis stammered.
“Nak Gendhis is where now?” Royani asked back.
“I'm still in Yogya, Auntie,” Gendhis can't handle the sadness. She sobbed softly as she listened to the soft words of the woman who was about to become her father-in-law.
“Nak,” call Royani. “Sabar, yes. Aunty can not help anything, because Manggala has made aunt vowed not to share her new phone number with anyone, except the nuclear family,”.
“Including me, Aunt?” gendhis asked with tears flowing more and more.
“With a heavy heart, auntie say, yes. Manggala does not want his contact number known to anyone from his past. As soon as he said before leaving,” replied Royani full of regret.
“Last time? I've been in the past?” gendhis lirih's. It was then that a million regrets came crashing down like a flood, drowning out Gendhis beautiful fantasies about Manggala. “It's all my fault, Auntie. I was the one who decided to split up. Even when Manggala begged me many times ..” The words of Gendhis were paused by a loud cry.
“Nak, patience, yes,” entertain Royani. “It is useless to regret everything that has gone before. Son Gendhis has made up his mind, so has Angga. There will always be risks that you both face. But that is how life is. You can't turn back time. The only thing you two can do is just step forward and pray, hopefully someday, your destiny path will come back together,” he said at length.
Genphis is getting more and more confused. He shook his head tightly while holding his forehead. Taste of poignancy, dizziness, and tightness in the chest, mixed into one. “I'm sorry, Auntie. I want to meet Angga. I love him,” he said.
“Unfortunately, Angga does not want to be found by anyone.” Royani's explanation makes Gendhis worse in grief. His cry sounded louder, making the mother of Manggala cry.
“If Nak Gendhis were close, surely Auntie would have hugged you tight. Son Gendhis like a daughter who never aunt have,” Royani's tone sounds so bitter.
“When did Angga come home, Te? If he does not want to be found, let Gendhis wait for him to come home to Indonesia,” urged Gendhis did not despair.
“Nak ... Manggala won't be coming home. He lived in Ireland forever. He has taken care of the application letter to become an Irish citizen,” now it is Royani's turn to cry. “Tante can't prevent him. Manggala is a child who has a very strong will.”
“Gosh,” Gendhis who was originally sitting on the edge of the bed, immediately slumped and sat curled up on the floor. “This is all my fault, Te. It's all my fault,” he said many times.
“Already, Son Genphis. It's nobody's fault. You are both adults and understand very well in determining attitudes. Aunty can only pray, if you are really paired, then hopefully you are quickly reunited. But if not, may you be reunited with the best couple.”
Hearing Royani's words, Gendhis was only able to take a deep breath. There was nothing else he could do but say goodbye politely, then end the call. The next second, Gendhis threw his phone just like that on the nightstand. He then lay down on the floor while closing his eyes.
Scene after scene with Manggala spun clearly in his head. Starting from the first time he met the beautiful man with long hair, until when Manggala stood in front of the fence of Grandma Sri's house. “Angga,” called him softly while continuing to cry, until he was exhausted and asleep.
Gendhis woke up when his cheeks hurt. She faintly felt someone slap her cheek many times. “Aduh,” groans slowly.
“Alhamdulillah, Ma'am Gendhis aware,” Utari said beaming. Not to forget he added his slap once again on the right cheek of the older brother.
“Ouch! What the hell, Tar!” gendhis jolt while holding his cheek while trying to sit down.
“Mbak Gendhis passed out, huh? Pain, yes?” despite the protests of her brother's objections, Utari continued to scout Gendhis.
“Who fainted? I overslept! You know why you got slapped again?” gendhis Namel.
“When again there is a chance kayak gini, Mbak,” timpal Utari with ease. “Why are his eyes swollen, Ma'am? Crying, huh? Nangisin who? Manggala?”
Gendhis complained softly against his noisy youngest brother. Utari's often unreasonable attitude, making him shake his head. “Udah, get out there! I want to be alone in the room!” expel Gendhis.
“Oh, can't. You have to leave the room!” sergeant Utari.
“How dare you set me up?” Gendhis glared at the objections.
“Not so, Ma'am. There was a guest below who nyariin Mbak Gendhis,” Utari pulled her brother's arm, half pushy.
“Aduh, males, ah. Tell me I am sick,” reject Gendhis who moved from the floor to his soft mattress.
“Who the hell, indeed?” Gendo was beginning to wonder. Deep in his little heart, he wanted Manggala to be the one to look for.
“Tante Kalini,” replied Utari half-whispering, undermining the unreasonable expectations of Gendhis.
“Tante Kalini?” Gendhis frowned in astonishment. “Tumben he wants to come here. Usually I always avoid papa,” murmured.
“Eh, make no mistake. They both are now familiar,” said Utari enthusiastically.
“Masa, anyway? How can?” for a moment, Gendhis forgot his sadness and enthusiastically waited for Utari's explanation.
“At first Papa's spirit approaches, but Aunt Kalini continues to resist. Finally, Papa relented, continuing to make friends. New, Aunt Kalini want,” bright Utari.
“Yes, geez,” Gendhis smiled faintly. Grateful to find solace in times of grief. “Ya, already, deh. If it's Aunt Kalini, I want to meet.”
Gendhis inched down from the bed, then hurriedly washed his face in the bathroom. Not to forget after drying his face, Gendhis anointed his beautiful face with powder, so that his swollen eyes can be slightly disguised.
“It's ready,” muttered Gendhis to himself. With Utari, he went down the stairs and walked slowly towards the living room.
“Hai, Dhis,” welcome Kalini. The middle-aged woman smiled widely as she stood up from her seat.
“Hai, Aunt. Once a surprise,” reply Gendhis. He welcomed a warm embrace from Kalini.
“Yes for God, son. Auntie is very sad about what happened to you. Aunty hope, you are not discouraged and remain a strong and cheerful Gendhis,” Kalini said while inviting Gendhis to sit nearby.
“You are sad to continue also free, Aunt. I realize that I haven't fully been able to think mature,” regrets Gendhis.
“Already, Son. Everything that happens cannot be separated from God's intervention. We never know what life will be like. Just walk. Soon, you will soon find the answer to this failure.” Kalini gently stroked the head of Gendhis. It is clear that Chand's mother loved Gendhis so much.
"Thank you, Auntie," Gendhis replied with a gentle smile. "Oh, yes. Aunt from where? Don't tell me that you came here on purpose."
"Emang intentionally. Chand said to Auntie, he said you've come home from Bali. Auntie Kangen would like to see you in person. We have not had casual conversations like before, for a long time" explained Kalini.
"Ah, Aunt. I'm being flattered. Aunty is so good. I've taken Auntie like my real mama." Gendish hugged Kalini once more.
"Well, then it means you can't refuse Aunty's invitation. Come on, let's go for a walk out." Without waiting for an answer from Gendhis, Kalini immediately pulled the girl's hand out of the house.
"Eh! Uh! Where are you going, Auntie? I haven't taken a shower yet" refused Gendhis.
"It's okay. It's normal, right?" Kalini continued to lead Gendhis out of the house, until he arrived near his parked car. He even opened the door for the girl. "Come, come in," tell the middle-aged woman to be delicate.
"Where are we going, Tan?" Again, that question came out of Gendhis lips.
"Anyways, we go for a walk. Eye wash. Find a fresh one," answered Kalini, pushing Gendhis's body slowly, to get into the car.
"But I don't bring money. Just bring this phone." Gendis was doubtful.
"Nothing," replied Kalini. He continued to push Gendhis in and sat down.
However, once inside the vehicle, Gendhis was immediately riveted. There he found someone he wanted to avoid.
"Hi, Dhis," said the man behind the wheel, who was none other than Chand.
