At exactly nine in the morning, Gendhis was already getting ready. As usual, he always appeared with his flagship style, which is an oversize t-shirt and torn jeans. This time, Gendhis tied his hair in the style of a ponytail. A black lady backpack with a medium size also complements the look on this cheerful Sunday.
“Where to, Dhis?” granny asked Sri, when she saw that Gendhis was wearing shoes while sitting on the living room sofa.
“You go, Grandma," replied Gendhis who had finished wearing the shoes. He stood up while tidying up his t-shirt. “Wish I didn't get lost,” said the girl again preparing to leave.
“What is your interview?” Grandma Sri asked again. Making Gendhis stop the steps in the doorway. “Kok is weird? Yesterday's job interview on Sunday,” thought the woman with the head age of seven. He frowned his already wrinkled forehead while staring at the ceiling of the room.
“Not Grandma want me to spit out for work? Even yesterday grandma said, if I could directly work at night,” said Gendhis pitched satire. “Yes done, Grandma. I left first,” pamitnya then while kissing the back of Grandma Sri's hand that still looks confused. He did not even respond to the farewell Gendhis and passed from before him.
With a step not too fast, Gendhis came out of the yard of the grandmother's house that looks beautiful. The girl's gaze was fixed on the phone screen. Gendhis was memorizing the address given by Manggala last night when they sent the message.
Frankly, Gendhis did not know the city of Bandung. Every time on vacation to the grandmother's house, the old woman never took her anywhere else but the zoo and of course the neighboring stalls next door.
Come to think of it, there was actually no point in him spending the holidays there. There was nothing interesting that Gendhis could do. However, for some reason because the city of Bandung always makes Gendhis feel longed to return to visit.
“If order a taxi online, the fare is good too,” thought Gendhis as he muttered softly. In any case, he had to save some pocket money which was the rest of his salary last month. “If I take the city bus, I don't know where to get off. What majors do you take?” gendhis thought of turning his attention to the streets before him. Incidentally, Grandma Sri's house was on the side of the road. As Genthis was thinking deeply, an SUV stopped in front of him.
Slowly, the glass of the middle window came down. From behind, came the handsome face of Manggala who smiled calmly. Without taking off the sunglasses he was wearing, Manggala greeted Gendhis who was standing with a look of disbelief. Apparently, in Indonesia there is also a rival to the good looks of a Chand.
“You're ready, Dhis?” ask Manggala. He opened the car door, then got off.
“Why are you here?” ask Gendhis astonished. “Not that we make an appointment at anu place ...”
“I accidentally stopped by. After some thought, maybe you don't really understand the address I gave you last night. So, we should leave together,” said Manggala. He let Gendhis into the car.
“It seems, it is much better,” reply Gendhis smiled widely. Eventually, he got a way out that really helped. He also rushed into the car. Unexpectedly, Manggala apparently sat in the same seat as him. “Eh, why are you sitting here?” gendhis asked in protest.
“Lah, this is my car. I am free even though I want to fall on the roof,” said Manggala while pointing up.
“Oh yes. Yes already. Nothing,” reply Gendhis. He shifted his seat more and more to the edge, so that there was a distance between himself and Manggala.
The man doesn't mind. Manggala did not seem to care even though Gendhis was sticking his body near the glass window. After all, at that time Manggala looked busy with mobile phones. I don't know what makes it look so serious. Gendhis did not want to bother him either. He chose to play the worm game.
That day, Manggala invited Gendhis to a book exhibition which was held in a famous mall in Bandung. I don't know what the purpose of Manggala was actually to bring Gendhis there. However, if it is associated with the profession of Gendhis who is a photographer of a magazine and also a lover of books, then it can hide the real reason, namely the invitation to a date.
However, if it is said to be a date invitation it also feels too early for both of them. As is well known, Manggala and Gendhis only met yesterday.
“You are under the direction of Mr Good yes during work at Hello Girls?” asked Manggala starting to mince words. They walked towards the escalator, which would take the two to the second floor of the mall.
“Iya,” replied Gendhis while circulating his gaze around. “Actually, Mr. Nice once gave me your card. Only, the business card was lost on the plane,”, said Gendhis again.
“Oh yes?” Manggala paused for a moment, then turned to Gendhis. “What did Mr Good say to you?” ask her while continuing her steps.
They walked down the front of the neatly lined shops, then headed to the spacious center, where there were many people among the hundreds of books of various titles and themes.
“He said, I can meet you if you need a job during your stay in Bandung,” replied Gendhis. “Ah look. I don't know what destiny this is? We are one plane. You also took me to my grandmother's house. Then today, we are in ...” Gendhis. He was so amazed at the crowd there. “Rupanya, there are still many who are attached to the physical book in the midst of the onslaught of the internet that is much more practical,” muttered the girl.
“Secare each person is different. There are some who say, that reading and printed books, is something that cannot be separated. If you read it in a printed book. Not like that either. Science is not only obtained from school. So simple,” said Manggala responding to Gendhis speech.
“Yes, you are right. I agree, although still diplomas and titles that speak,” reply Gendhis. He drew closer to the fiction book section, and began to see some titles. While Manggala stood nearby while choosing the book he liked. A moment later, Manggala moved to another part. While Genphis was still in her place earlier.
“Adudu, it looks like this is good. Try reading the blurb.” Gendhis handed the book he had just checked to someone next to him, whom he considered to be Manggala. Wrongly, he did so without looking at it at all. Gendhis continued to give the book, because the person next to him did not respond. “Ga?” Unappealed, Gendhis finally turned his head. Instantly, the girl's gaze collided with the person standing next to her earlier.
"Chand?" his hisses can't believe it.
