After all, there's nothing left. Now the patience of Asmara has run out, the patience that has been buried in him.
Getting the status of a widow is not his will, maybe this is the destiny that God has outlined to him. But, getting the nickname widow g*tal from neighbors around the complex made him unable to bear, he said, can't stand to hit the group of mothers who often talk about it when sorting out various kinds of vegetables on their subscription vegetable akang.
"Mom surty, what did you say?? Try repeat?" The arrival of romance was greeted with shocked faces by the mothers who were talking about it, without knowing that Asmara was now behind them.
"Ehhc ... Neng Maa-ra," said Ucup the greengrocer, with eyes patterned with a heart that pauses.
Surty, someone who is considered a culprit and likes to pump up other mothers was shocked.
"Mother, can you repeat what you just said??" the eyes of Asmara began to sharpen, in his face the sticky surty that had wavered with eyes that twisted to and fro.
"Why? Why won't you tell me directly? Isn't it more exciting to talk about someone but in front of him directly, not just dare to say behind!" Asmara was still waiting for Surty to speak, but he just mute until slamming the vegetables he was holding onto the vegetable cart Ucup.
Surty leaves, he looks scared when Asmara starts to get emotional. Surty did not expect that the calm and ordinary looking Asmara dared to bully him in front of the crowd.
"Lah buuu Surtaaay, this is the vegetable you live in?? Uh ... W-W-P!!!" Ucup yells at Surty's mom with his distinctive gurgling man-style accent.
Seeing Suryt's mother leave, Asmara began to warn the other mothers. "Mom-mother, and Mang Ucup please do not take seriously the words of Mrs Surty. I hope you can judge for yourself whether the words are true or not. And to stop talking bad things about me, to be quiet doesn't mean I'm afraid. I can guarantee and prove, if I never tease Surty's mom!!!" In a firm tone, romance provides an explanation hoping there are no more misunderstandings.
"But Mara, Ms. Surty herself said that she saw you continue to tease her husband" said Ms. Jamilah.
"Yes, even you have been given money by Mr. Amir," Sarah continued with her thick lips pursed.
"Mom only heard Surty's words? Have you ever seen him in person?" Asmara is getting upset, he still does not expect if Surty can manipulate an information to bring him down.
"Yes, no .." replied the two of them simultaneously looking at each other.
"Research the news first, ma'am, before accusing and harming others!" Amorous half bluffed Jamilah and Sarah, his heart was so upset because of the slander that continued to fall on him.
"Maara??" a typical voice sounded in the ear of Asmara, until he turned to the direction of the origin of the sound.
"Steve?" Asmara rounded her eyes perfectly, looking at Steven's arrival. He walked closer to Steven, with teary eyes.
"Mara, how are you??" Steve asked, looking at him.
"Well, had not met for a long time," Asmara's speech stopped, he felt he was being noticed by Jamilah and Sarah because talking to Steven.
Finally Asmara decided to invite Steven into his house because he did not want to continue to make the mothers pay attention to Steve.
Until arriving in the two-story house that he now lives with his mother and sister, Asmara invited Steve to sit on the living room sofa.
The romance entertained Steve with a cup of sweet warm tea along with a jar of chocolate cake made by his own hands.
Steven told me that if he had just come out of custody, for about three years he was in a cell with a considerable amount of fines, he finally came out of that terrible place. He decided to find Asmara and her family.
"You moved but didn't tell me, Mara?" Steven asked after sipping warm tea made by Mara.
"Sorry Steve, I don't want to bother you anymore" Asmara said honestly.
All this time he was so burdened Steve after the events that happened to him. He was also determined after all these problems, he wanted to be more independent.
"Didn't you want to come back to Amsterdam with me??"
Steven's intention in search of Asmara is to take him back to Amsterdam.
Asmara shook her head, a sign of rejecting Steven's invitation. "There's nothing I can do there Steve. I'm comfortable in Jakarta with the business I set up myself,"
"Mara ..." Steve took his breath out slowly. "Mara, did the Malik family bother you?" Steven was worried, because Asmara lived in one city with the Byan family.
"Of course not Steve. Although we are in one city, but we never tease each other, Asmara said with tears when remembering her past with Byan.
After finishing taking care of all the family affairs in Jogja, Mara and her family finally decided to move to Jakarta. They also lived in the city for a few months.
"And the Star, even though I never met him, but I still pray for him from afar" Mara continued to remember about the child she so missed.
"The stars must be so grateful to have a mother like you. Even though you weren't the mother who gave birth to her," Steven smiled slightly, he was so flattered by the loving and motherly nature of romance.
"The star will never know if it has a mother like me, her father definitely does not want that," with a slightly rough swipe, Asmara wiped away the tears on her cheeks.
"Why should we be sad this way, should we celebrate your return, Steve? Looks like gotta!" say Asmara with a tone that has returned excited.
"Mara, what to celebrate?" Steven asked curiously.
"I'll cook today, I'll make a delicious meal" Asamara responded to Steven with a strange look.
"Can you cook? I know you can't even turn on the stove!" steven said with his joke mocking Asmara. But that's the truth.
"Hmmmm, you don't know yet! Yes, I used to get nothing. But now, you will be addicted to my cooking!" Proudly Asmara is showing off her skills now.
"really??" Steven felt disbelief with the confidence of such a high romance.
"We'll see later," Asmara rushed to her beautiful kitchen, she began to sort out the various ingredients that would be cooked in the refrigerator.
"Where's Kamila and Randy?" Steven asked looking for the whereabouts of his mother and sister Asmara.
"Randy is on a study tour to the island of a thousand. And I went with him" replied Asmara.
"Oh so, surely Randy has grown up. Are you three, Mara?" Ask Steven again.
"Yes, of course, I want to limit myself from the people out there," with his hands busy washing vegetables, Asmara still had time to answer Steven's questions.
"Mara, is your house this big? Don't you need a Household Assistant to just clean up?" Steven noticed the surroundings of Asmara's new home.
"Mom and I can handle it, Randy is not a lazy and spoiled child either" Asmara revealed a sweet smile towards Steven.
Somehow seeing Asmara smile like that made Steven's heart rumble. They are happy, but arguably sad. Happy because now he can see Asmara smiling again, sad because until now Steven still does not dare to show his true feelings to Asmara.
"Steve, don't look at me like that. You can stroke if you keep-menrus not blinking!" The romance threw the remaining pieces of vegetables towards Steven, to make Steven surprised. Fortunately, it only hit his arm.
"Mara, you look more beautiful .." Steven said softly, but Asmara can still hear it.
"Steve, did you just notice? You're so mean!" Asmara snorted annoyedly with a slightly joking tone.
Steven could only smile, he did not expect that meeting Asmara would make his heart more calm than before.
"Steve, when are you going back to Amsterdam?" Asmara asked inquisitively recovering Steven's mind that was drifting somewhere.
"If I tell you what you're coming?" Steve asked back.
"Steve, I'm serious ..."
"I'm serious Mara ..."
"Ck! You're this. Since when have you been a man who likes jokes? Aren't you the serious type? Do the ghosts in the prison have possessed you?" Many questions in the mind of Asmara, he really did not expect if Steven's attitude could turn out to be more friendly.
"A lot of lessons I learned there, that place really tormented me. More ..."
Asmara immediately approached Steven, he placed his index finger on Steven's lips.
"STOP! Don't remember any more bad memories there, start the deep grave of all that Steve. Be happy, you deserve it and never make the same mistake again,"
Asmara knows, Steven's eyes are now in tears considering his past. In fact, he can also feel deep sadness as Steven felt.
But all of that means nothing. According to him, if we constantly remember the past then we are the same as torturing ourselves.
Move on, not a word just to forget someone. But, words that can lead us to be more excited to do new things well.
Although the word Move On is not as easy as it is said, doing it requires extra patience and effort. Mara tried with all her might to get started.
To be continue ...
