Perfect Wife Azraell
Chapter 26: Please Don't Feel Guilty

As the saying goes, the world is narrow. And Dareen felt it when she met one of the many people she knew, and wanted her to avoid.

"I haven't seen you in a long time, miss. How are you doing?" The question came from Arsein's lips, which made Dareen roll up a smile, answering the question. "As it looks, fine. But I'm a little distracted because I can't ride."

Arsein looked doubtfully at Dareen before revealing what he had been harboring for some time. "Are you ready to meet with sir, miss?"

Dareen ignored Arsein's question and looked at the bodyguards still standing in front of the elevator. "Soge away."

The man knew that the identity of the woman in front of him was not simple, moreover he could call his master by name alone, and even the notoriously cold Mr. Arsein, showed warmth to the woman. He immediately shifted his body, giving Dareen access to use the elevator after confirming that Arsein had not commented anything or had him obstruct Dareen.

Dareen reached out her hand, pressed the elevator button and waited for the door to close, just as Arsein said, "You don't need to feel guilty, miss."

Ting!

Dareen clenched her hands, looking down with a sharp look. There was a faint glint of water welling up at the corner of his eyes. Arsein, why is he acting like he knows everything?!

That sucks!

"Basic sucks! Arsein sucks!" his murmur was faint in his heart.

Before long, the elevator clinks. Dareen stepped out of the elevator. He stopped for a few moments, before stepping his foot toward a door at the end of the hall. Each step of his took Dareen to the memories of the past, and his heart pounded more and harder each time he approached.

"Don't be afraid, Reen~"

"Kary?"

...***...

Amsterdam, 2010

Vehicles passed by, and a pair of beads watched from a height above an 18-story skyscraper. A voice fell down, and made his black mane strands sway as he turned his head. "What are you doing here?"

Dareen put down a book while grumbling. The girl with the shoulder-length blonde mane displayed a disgruntled facial mimic, and her eyebrows even nosedived sharply. "Really sucks! Every day just angry, angry and angry!"

"Who does he think he is? Using his face and his gentile nature to urge me. I have worked hard. You know, even Justin helped support it by telling Drigory if I misinput the material. Isn't that a bitch?" Stripping his pen over his book, Dareen squinted his eyes.

"Ahh, haha! But kids don't like it as much as kids don't like gingerbread." Dareen seemed satisfied after finding the right reason.

He looked up, putting his finger on his chin. "Hey, Kary. You think I'd better get back at it or shut up?"

The one who had been silent gave an amused smile. How sweet Dareen is. "Come, you don't have to ask for questions you already know the answer to, Reen."

Dareen commented a smile, after hearing his next words. "It wasn't your fault, Reen. You can repay those who treat you badly, but you certainly know how best to repay them."

Dareen laughed with a bright twinkle in both of his manics, "Being more and better than them of course!"

"I love you, Kary!!"

...***...

"Until when are you gonna stand there, Alexa?" The question manages to pull Dareen from the depths of her past memories. Just a little, yet able to make his pair of manics flushed and gleamed by tears.

Dareen looked up, to find a pair of black beads looking at him deeply. Almost able to drown him in the sea of emotions that he had been suppressing all this time. Her lips trembled, yet she kept her hands clenched, resisting her urge to lash at the man before her. "Nearly 6 years I can only keep an eye on you, Alexa. Looking at you from a distance, thinking. Do you really still need me and still want me in your life."

"I have always resisted my desire to come to you, to hold you as before. Support you in everything and under any circumstances. But you stayed away and avoided me. And my fear, which will keep you away from me is holding me back, and I can only try to understand that it's all your choice." The statement made tears wash over Dareen's cheeks.

His hand stretched out, rubbing Dareen's tears gently. "It's not your fault, baby. Never blame yourself. It also hurt my heart a lot."

The woman was unable to contain the tears she had been holding up since. "Pope.."

"Bag, Xa. Let papa hug you."

Without a word, Dareen rushed into the man who looked to be in his 40s, hugged him tightly, and cried with a loud roar, shed all the grievances and tears that have been buried for more than 6 years, alone. "Hhaaaa!!! Papaa!! Alexa is sorry! Hix.. Hicks.."

"I'm sorry Lexa!"
