Chapter 38. Searching Without Purpose.

Tracing the road without a destination, Maik drove his car looking for Bela's whereabouts. But almost an hour later he was passing by his luxury car, not a trace of him he met. He decided to go back to the hotel where he was staying. But just as he was about to turn his car around, his eyes glimpsed at someone, who was inside a taxi that had just passed by.

Without thinking long, Maik chose to immediately follow the taxi that had driven ahead there. Maik drove his car at such a high speed, chasing after Sari who was in the taxi. In his mind, only Sari was the one who could take him to see Bela. After being beside the car, Maik immediately called Sari, and made Sari immediately shocked to see Maik in a luxury car next to the taxi he was riding.

"Cari... Sari please stop!" The sound of Maik's screams was so loud.

"Maik's mother." Sari was confused.

"Sir, please stop!" Said Sari who made the taxi driver pull over next to the road.

Maik immediately pulled over his car and went out to Sari who was standing next to a taxi. Sari was so confused to see the super handsome and rich man meet her. He felt like a dream pursued by an influential person like Maik.

"Would you like to go home?" Ask Maik after being near Sari.

"I, yes sir." Sari answered nervously.

"Let me take you." Said Maik which made Sari more confused.

"Oh my God, is this a dream? Why is Mr Maik chasing me?" Sari wondered in her heart.

"Sir, I can take a cab." Sari said as she looked at that handsome face in front of her.

"Let me drive you, because I want to ask you something." Maik's words that made Sari instantly became frightened.

Seeing Maik's attitude that seemed pushy, making Sari so frightened. In his mind Sari thought, it was likely that Maik wanted to tell what they were talking about earlier in the Endru apartment, to his friends in the apartment later. With a look of fear, Sari again refused Maik's invitation to take her home.

"I don't want to bother Mr. Maik, so let me go home alone." Sari.

"Don't think that! I just wanted to ask you something." Said Maik who made Sari who was getting tensed so breathe a sigh of relief.

"Ooo, is that it, sir? Yeah, well, if that's what I pay for the cab fare." Sari said with a friendly smile.

"Let me pay for the cab." Connect Maik while taking out his wallet and directly pay the taxi fare, to the driver who had been silent in the taxi since.

"Sir, here's the change." The taxi driver said while offering some money.

"Take the change!" Maik said as he stepped towards his car.

Maik drove his car following the direction of the road pointed by Sari. After their car drove a few meters on the road that seemed to be quiet, Sari who was so curious about what Maik wanted to ask, tried to start a conversation.

"I want to ask you about your best friend, who you told me about at Endru's apartment." Maik said as he continued to stare straight ahead.

Hearing what Maik said, Sari immediately fell silent with a look of surprise. She is so shocked also confused by Maik, who wants to know about Bela his best friend.

"What do you mean by Maik Bela?" Sari asked with a puzzled look towards Maik.

"Yes. I want to know about him." Answer Maik.

"What does Mr. Maik want to know about him?" Ask Sari who is getting confused.

"I want to know all about him." Answer Maik which makes Sari more confused.

Sari was so confused by the most handsome creature of God beside her. The one who was so curious about Bela had only once met face to face in the pharmacy earlier. He did not expect Bela to be that easy, making a very perfect man instantly so curious about him.

"Can you tell me all about him?" Maik's voice that made Sari tesadar from her confusion.

"Can you sir." Answer Sari.

"Please tell me now." Said Maik while staring at Sari for a while and returned to focus on driving.

"Bela's a good girl is also independent. He went to college here on a scholarship, just like me and one of my best friends named Mita." Sari Evidently.

And when Maik wanted to ask again, suddenly Sari's phone rang which made Maik have to wait. Seeing the name Bela on her phone screen, Sari immediately smiled as she said.

"Sir Maik, I answered Bela's phone first." Sari said while looking at Maik.

"Yes, but don't say anything about me." Said Maik and Sari just nodding with a smile.

Maik chose not to speak when Sari had answered the phone from Bela. Maik does not want Bela to realize his arrival and avoid him. But suddenly Sari said something, which made Maik instantly startled and stiffened.

"What...? Your son is very sick..?" Sari's voice that made Maik's eyes immediately widened.

Without waiting for a long time, Maik immediately increased the speed of his car. And what Maik did made Sari who was talking to Bela, so frightened and chose to end her conversation with Bela.

"Okay, I'll be there soon." Sari said and immediately disconnected her phone.

Sari was not at all suspicious of Maik's attitude. He just thought, Maik drove his car because he knew that he wanted to get to his apartment immediately, to see Bela who was in need.
