CHAPTER 19

    George's rude attitude made Mira shocked as well as frightened. The man's gaze this time not only looked fierce but also looked intimidating. The feeling of fear that was in Mira's heart was already at its peak.

"What are you doing?" hiss Mira as George approached and locked her with both hands." Didn't I tell you I was gonna meet Lisa. And didn't you approve of that too? Why is it like this? Why are you angry - angry?" Not only was Mira's voice trembling but her body was also trembling. She's terrified. George Goldsmith turned like a starving tiger ready to eat him.

"Tell me the truth, Mira. Why did you just come home?" furious George.

In her fear, Mira forced her brain to think. What he said was true. She had clearly told George that she was going to meet Lisa. But...

My God, does this man know that I met Dion ? mira muttered in heart. Finish me!

It felt like Mira returned the fierce gaze of the man with a sharp look full of anger. Since when does this man have the right to be possessive of her ?  They are not officially married yet, so the man's attitude feels too excessive, Mira thought.

 

Instead of returning the man's gaze, Mira chose to push slowly George's body so that he could freely move and breathe. He needed oxygen because he was unconsciously holding his breath.

Mira took a deep breath and looked at George with guilty eyes and said, "After I got home from Lisa's house, I met Dion. He called me and asked to meet because he had something to say."

"What's that?" george asked quickly, still with the same eyes. The man's gaze was the same as the sword that unsheathed Mira's body. But even so, Mira could not deny that the man was still charming because of his good looks.

Actually Mira did not want to say what he was talking about with Dion. But then Mira realized that honesty will make a relationship run well. And Mira should be honest so that her wish is realized. So, there is no need to hide - hide.

"He wants us back together." Mira answered briefly.

On her way home from Lisa's house, Mira gets a call from Dion because she wants to meet Mira and talk about something. At first Mira refuses Dion's invitation, but the man forces her. However, they have been dating for quite a long time so it is difficult to ignore the man. Mira finally agrees to meet him. Not because Mira hoped they would get back together, but more to Mira appreciating the man. There was absolutely no desire in Mira's heart to reconcile with Dion.

George's eyebrows are linked to make his face more creepy. Handsome in the fun. "Then, did you take it?"

"Oh of course not, George. We can no longer be together because of circumstances" Mira said firmly.

"Do you still love her?" The question was somehow thrown easily from George's mouth.

The man's question jolted Mira's heart.Still love her ? He really loves that guy. But that was before. Now he doesn't love Dion anymore because his heart is filled with a cold, haughty man.

"No." answered Mira briefly.

"really?" George's eyes narrowed.

Mira rolled her eyeballs. "Of course it's true. George." said Mira slowly. "You make me curious about one thing" he continued. "Are you jealous ?" ask Mira panataran.

George opened his mouth, slightly surprised by the woman's question. "Jealous ? I'm jealous ? Don't dream! I just want you not to breach our marriage contract." George explained.

Mira watched the man. The look on his face changed. But Mira wasn't sure if it showed that she was lying, that she was jealous because George might have liked her. It's too early to draw such conclusions, Mira thought.

"Just calm! Not once did I think of doing it" Mira said really.

"Good." George's voice sounded like he was grateful with Mira's answer.

Mira walked towards the living room. He put his briefcase on the table and took a sitting position facing George who was still faithfully standing.

When Mira's eyes returned to meet Geroge's eyes, she said, "If there's nothing you want to say, get out of here. I'm tired and need a break."

Mira took a deep breath and replied, "No. I'm not throwing you out, but I'm asking you, please."

George flinching. The man looked at Mira with an unpredictable highlight.  A few seconds later George laughed heartily. "Hahaahaha...Just so you know you have no right to ask me anything, Miranda Starlin."

Miranda flabbergasted. He did not expect that George Goldsmith would say that because he honestly did not understand what was funny about his request. Even the request is not difficult to do. He just needs to get out of the apartment instead of out of Mira's life.

Mira takes her eyes off George. "It's up to you!" He was already helpless in the face of George's confusing attitude. Sometimes he is good but sometimes he is rude.

"Tomorrow I'll meet your parents and we'll get engaged. After that, in the evening we go to New York."

Mira was surprised again. All too soon, he says, especially on the part of leaving for New York. "Tomorrow ? Why tomorrow ? It's too soon." protested Mira.

"Are you stupid ? Of course it has to be fast because my business is not just this. Just so you know, as the CEO of Goldsmith Company, my work matters a lot. If I don't make good use of my time, there's no way I'm this successful" George boasted.

Mira looked at George. His face now looks so proud. And the way the man looked at her made Mira realize that whatever it was had to be done was based on the man's plans and desires. Mira could not stand this situation anymore. He was too tired to support the man.

The easiest course of action to complete this conversation is to nod your head in a sign of approval. So Mira did it.

Being polite is a must. Especially if someone is visiting your house.

 George is a guest of Mira. Indeed, he should have accompanied the man longer, at least after his mother came home so that the man could return to the hotel. But for God's sake, fatigue has enveloped her now. He needs rest.

 Mira stood up and picked up her briefcase that was on the table. "Please excuse me. I'll be in the room for a minute."

 Without waiting for a response from George, Mira immediately stepped into the room and slammed the door.

In the room, Mira throws her briefcase and her own body on the bed, excited to be able to rest even though of course, her body still stinks because she hasn't had a bath.

Before entering the dream world, the thought of George's words about being engaged and going straight to New York tomorrow again filled his brain.

But hasn't he lost the right to argue since he met George Goldsmith ? Therefore he must always be ready to follow the man's plan, Mira decided.

Along with the chaotic thoughts and tiredness he experienced, Mira immediately closed her eyes and immediately fell asleep.
