Happy reading. . .
While in the car, George had Steve drive them to another restaurant. Anywhere, whatever.
Meanwhile, Mira was silent. According to Mira, it was very sad because George saw the side of the bar. It crossed his mind when he said to Sintia and how he pushed Dion's body with all his strength. How humiliating! She's like a wild woman.
But the worst is how sad he was because all this time he did not realize that his friend and lover had an affair behind him. When Sintia stood up earlier, Mira could see clearly that the woman had been two-bodied. It was fitting that Dion immediately broke off their relationship because it turned out that he had impregnated Sintia. Really - really jerk of the two humans, the inner Mira.
George saw Mira's mouth move saying stupid... But no sound was heard. George thought the woman was crazy.
"Are you okay?" george asked as he continued to watch over Mira.
"Yes, I'm fine." Mira turned to look at the car window trying to hide her flushed face.
"Now, there's no reason for you to turn down my offer to get married" George said confidently.
"The man has betrayed you. He dumped you too. After all, if you look - look - the man is no good - good at all. He looks ordinary and I don't think he's too rich either." George's tone of voice sounded condescending.
"Shut your mouth." quickly, sergeant Mira. "You have no right to insult him."
George cringing. "You still defend him ? How could? Obviously, he hurt you. Are you stupid?"
Mira ignores George's words but is increasingly agile to defend her former lover. "He hurt me, but he was a good man. He never hurt me one bit. He even took care of me very well. As long as we were dating she never asked for more..."
"But he asked that to another woman." cut George quick. "Aren't you aware that he's a jerk?"
"Stop saying he's a jerk. He's a hundred times better than you. He's not a jerk unless you're the jerk."
Mira doesn't realize that men don't like it the most in comparison. Not only men, but everyone does not like being compared to others.
And Mira's words have just ignited the fire in George.
George let out a furious growl and pushed Mira's body so hard that she hit the window and she was cornered.
George locked her up with both of his sturdy arms. Mira could clearly see the man's jaw stiffening and there was a frown line on his forehead. Now he felt himself finished.
"Let me reiterate to you. I dislike most people who are stubborn, who argue, and who insult me." The man's voice grew an octave longer and his hands strengthened the grip on Mira's shoulder.
"It's nice to hear it" said Mira stammered, trying to look calm. "I don't belong to the category of people you don't like."
Next to George's eyebrows raised and the man's eyes grew fiercer looking at Mira. "Of course it's not like that Miranda. What I meant was that you had to listen to me. Never again refute my words. Understood?"
Mira quickly - quickly nodded as she felt she had run out of oxygen.
"Say that you understand" cried George.
"Yes, I understand." Mira replied in a voice trembling with fear. Then he closed his eyes, again - again regretting his words.
George's anger subsided a little, but he was still grumbling. "How dare you compare myself to that man." George let go of his grip and looked back to the front. "What's? Is he better than me? In what way? Goddamnit!"
From the corner of Mira's eyes, seeing Steve is just like a statue because it behaves as if nothing happened here. But it's very reasonable because the one in control here is George.
Mira decides to lock her mouth tightly and turn her eyes out the window. It's annoying to be stuck with someone like George Goldsmith, the inner Mira. All his life just this time he met a man who is difficult to guess his war. It makes the feeling of fear as well as anxiety simultaneously appear in the hatiny.
While enjoying lunch, neither Mira nor George, no one opened his mouth to speak.
The situation became very tense.
George's expression was still flat and cold. His eyes are still cynical. His attitude is also still clumsy that makes Mira afraid to speak. Or rather Mira was unsure of what she could say when she opened her mouth. After all Miranda Starlin, a stubborn and disputing woman.
Silence is created as long as they eat food. But when finished with their eating activities, Mira ventured out her voice. He had to say something important to George. However, he had already thought of the words he would say so as to no longer provoke the man's emotions.
"I'm sorry and thank you." Mira's voice was quiet but George could still hear the woman's words.
"What's your apology for and what's your thanks for it?" george asked a little.
Mira's common sense realizes that it takes longer to explain her apology and thanks.
Mira took a deep breath and again said, "I'm sorry for offending you by comparing yourself to Dion. I realized it was not a good deed. I regret. I'm sorry, Mr. George." said Mira sincerely.
"Call me George." The man's orders. Yes, of course it's an order. Don't forget, every word - the man's word is an order.
George's anger subsided upon Mira's sincere apology. Even when he heard the words regret coming out of the woman's mouth, he felt happy.
"Alright, George. I also thank you for helping me. At that time, if there were none, I might have been beaten up by Sintia and Dion. Thanks again."
"It's good that you're conscious" said George briefly but his tone softened.
Mira cleared her throat. "And as for your offer at that time, I've decided" said Mira slowly.
Mira realized the careful gaze of George who was watching her who was about to say her decision.
The situation is tense.
"Sorry, I declined your offer. I don't think I can." said Mira in a low tone of voice, looking as if she regretted having to say that.
"What???" Highlight the ferocious eyes of George as well as the fury on his face reappeared.
The reason the woman apologized and said thank you was just an excuse, broke up George. What he really wanted to convey was this, a rejection of my offer. Goddamn bum!
Mira's breath choked. For God's sake, this time Mira doesn't know what's wrong with her speech. For the third time Mira regretted opening her mouth to talk to George. Maybe he should just stay quiet in front of the guy.
