My Crazy Client's

My Crazy Client's
CHAPTER 18

Happy reading. . .

It took a few minutes before George left. He first cleaned his body and then put back on the clothes he wore last night. While Mira went into the room and quickly changed her clothes with work clothes.

After George left, Mira and her mother sat in silence for a few minutes. The silence really felt awkward. Hating the awkward situation, Mira ventured out her voice

"I'm sorry ma. I admit I made a mistake. I have disappointed my mother. However, getting married within a week seems too soon. George and I just got to know each other and there was no love between us" Mira said.

"There's no reason for you to object to this marriage, Mira. And love ? If you're really concerned about love in your marriage then you shouldn't let that bule guy stay here, whatever the reason is." Stella. "At least you have to wait until that love grows and you get married and live with that man" she continued in a voice filled with anger.

"But..."

"No buts!" get her in again. "What you're doing is already perfectly capable of making your reputation damaged, Mira. So now you have no right to argue anymore."

"Ma.." said Mira in a pleading tone.

"Enough, Mira. Don't test your patience." cried Stella.

Mira seemed to be trying hard not to answer. He was guilty after all, and this woman before him was Stella, a firm man in deciding things. And if he had already decided, there was nothing more to argue with.

And Mira knew, whatever her mother said and planned, it was for her own good and everyone's good.

Stella was silent for a moment when she saw her daughter's adorned face. But then, when Mira no longer said what - what, Stella immediately asked, "Actually, what are you worried about ?"

Mira sighed and her tears arrived - suddenly falling down her cheeks. "Actually, I was expecting a marriage based on love. But it doesn't feel like everything's going my way." Mira's voice sounded so soft.

Then Mira said again, "Dion.I loved her so much that I only looked at her as the only man in my life, for six years. Unfortunately, I am the only one like that. In fact, she betrayed me by having an affair with my office mate Sintia."

Stella only listened but her heart also felt the sadness of her daughter.

"I don't know where my mistake lies..."

"You didn't make a mistake" comforted Stella. Although the woman was frustrated with what her daughter did, but the caring attitude would never be lost from her.

"Maybe Dion wasn't meant for you. Forget her. Immediately dispose of the feelings of love towards her and open your heart to others. Of course I mean mama, open your heart to that bule man."

Mira nodded again. "Content ma. George's presence was beyond belief. He came into my life right after I lost Dion. We've only known each other for a few days, but strangely he's already offered marriage."

Mira smiled bitterly, then continued the words - he said. "He was a client of the company I worked for and he was handsome, wealthy, but cold and haughty. Even so, his life was almost perfect. While I... Our lives are so very different."

"But still you let that man into your life, even if you know your differences." Stella quickly replied.

"Let me tell you one thing" Stella said again but her tone softened.

"Some people need time to be warm to someone. And about love, believe that love can infiltrate silence - silence in one's heart as time goes by. And when that love grows, then one will no longer see a difference as a hindrance."

Her mother's words made Mira feel a little better. But then he wonders, can that love infiltrate the heart of a cold and haughty man like George Goldsmith? Let's pray that it can happen.

Finally Mira nodded while trying to hold back the tears that spread. "Well, I'll marry her next week" said the woman.

Mira plans to spend the whole day taking care of everything that needs to be taken care of. After finishing his talks with his mother, he immediately left for the office to submit a letter of resignation. Then in the afternoon he went to his boss' house to meet Lisa.

Meanwhile, Stella calls her husband, telling him about their daughter's wedding plans. And right after Mira left, he also went out, planning a visit to his brother's house in Bekasi.

When he finished talking to the head of the HRD where he worked, Mira's phone rang. Mira did not know who was calling until she picked up the call and heard the voice of the man speaking on the phone.

"It's me" said the man.

Who else if not George Goldsmith.

Mira no longer asks how George can get his phone number, because entering Mira's apartment like a thief can be done by the man, let alone this is just a phone number.

"I've had Steve take care of all the letters for our wedding" George said.

"Ok," said Mira briefly.

"Where are you now? How's mommy?"

"I'm in the office, just handed in a resignation letter."

"Oh, that's good news." George is firm. "I think you're really ready to get married." The man's voice was like a snort.

Mira took a deep breath. "I don't know. But I knew one day I would have to stop working for a family, take care of my husband and children."

"Oh yes, of course it is like that. All right, what's your plan now?"

"I'll meet Lisa this afternoon and be back at the apartment by night."

"Well then, see you."

***

...Mira pressed the bell several times while standing in front of the door of the tall and majestic house. The house was the residence of his boss Arifin's parents. After marriage, Lisa moved to Arifin's house, which is located in the residential area of Pondok Indah....

When the door opened, Lisa stood behind the door and smiled gently at Mira.

When Lisa is not married, tea and chatting about various things Mira and Lisa do every Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon. But now it is no longer possible because soon he will leave for New York with George.

"I'm good." replied Lisa. "You yourself, how are you?"

Mira and Lisa alike - similarly let go of their embrace. "Much has happened in my life over the last few days" said Mira weakly.

"We'd better sit down so you can tell me what happened to you at the end of this."

Mira agrees to Lisa's advice by following her best friend to the backyard. They were sitting on rattan chairs neatly arranged in the garden.

Then Mira told me briefly what happened in her life these past few days, starting from her meeting with George, except about the event of recklessness, he said he had resigned from his job and that he would marry the man in New York next week.

In addition, Mira also tells about the affair of Dion and Sintia, including the events of their fight at that time.

Lisa's mouth gawked in surprise. "I can't believe you're going through something crazy like that" Lisa said. "But anyway, congratulations to you because you're getting married soon. I wish you could be happy with your marriage." It seems too soon to say congratulations, but the word congratulations should be spoken now because it is not certain whether he can attend the wedding of his best friend.

Mira smiled at Lisa's words. "Thank you" he murmured. "But it would be better if you said it at my wedding." Mira continued in a hopeful tone of voice.

"I can't promise I can go to New York to attend your wedding. You know I'm married now. I can't make my own decisions about anything. I have to ask Arifin. And I'm not sure if he'll let me."

Despite having the ability to go abroad and even stay for a long time there, it does not mean Lisa can go as she pleases. Of course, all things must be asked and discussed with her husband and then jointly make a decision. Mira understands that.

A maid came to bring them tea and wet cakes. Before Mira came, Lisa had told Bi Surti who was the butler in the house to prepare tea and wet cakes for them.

After finishing putting tea and cake on the table, bi Surti immediately left. Their conversation continues.

"I knew. Try to ask Mr. Arifin. Who knows, he'll agree and you can go to New York. And you can have your honeymoon there." murmured Mira while grinning.

"Hmm" said Lisa.

Mira sips tea that is served bi Surti. "Then how's your wedding? Is it going well ?" ask after finishing sipping the tea.

"Everything is good, everything is good. I just have to learn extra because I'm still not used to the status of a wife. You know, I can't do any housework other than clean up the room. Now I have to know it so I can take care of my husband."

"It's hard to get married, too."

"Not for you because you're used to living independently. Different from me." Mira hears a frustrated tone in Lisa's voice.

"The spirit of dong." said Mira as she clenched her hand. "I'm sure you can do it."

"Hmmm..."

"How about we go out and have some fun ?" Mira gave a suggestion.

"Can too. But for a second, I'll have to ask Arifin's permission first."

It only took about ten minutes for Mira to wait for Lisa to contact her husband. And thank goodness Lisa got permission to go with her.

They leave immediately after Lisa tells bi Surti that she will be leaving with Mira.

As usual, when with Lisa time seems to spin too fast. It was already dark when Mira parted ways with Lisa.

***

Upon arriving at her apartment, Mira finds George standing at the door as if he is on duty to welcome her.

"Where have you been?" george snapped in a furious voice.

Mira froze when she heard the tone of the man's voice.

"I told you on the phone that I was going to meet Lisa" said Mira stiffly.

George seemed to ignore Mira's explanation because the man's eyes were still sharp.

Mira was irritated because of the man's angry attitude for no apparent reason. Holding back his annoyance and trying to ignore George's sharp gaze, he immediately walked past the man, heading to the room. However, George's hand quickly pulled Mira's arm and threw her body forward until Mira's body hit the wall near the door. "After this, don't expect you to go anywhere without my permission." - furious George.
