Episode 19 If the Girl Were You

Jeffran stood staring out through the glass window of the workspace, on one of the floors of the Smith Group Company skyscraper. But he was not looking at the twilight sky that turned reddish orange, a collection of multi-storey buildings or a row of vehicles down there. But Jeffran was just staring blankly at the glaring thoughts on the matter that had filled his brain for these few days.

'Why do I feel so disappointed knowing that Jillian wasn't the girl that night. If the girl is Jillian, and the child Jillian conceived is my son, then I will never divorce her. I will correct my mistakes with him for the rest of my life. Even though I don't love her, but I'm used to living with her, I'm sure I can have this marriage with her. But if the girl was someone else, I don't know where I could find her. I was also confused, how do I fix my mistakes with him? Do I have to marry her when I get divorced from Jillian? Hmm, but why is it that when I think of divorce, my heart feels so uncomfortable? I haven't been able to get close to any woman since Dhiva betrayed me. But now, I'm used to living with Jillian. "I've knocked on Jeff's door many times, but there's no answer from you. So I decided to go in and check for yourself. Apparently still the same as these few days, you continue to daydream and lack focus on work. Jeff recalled, the company is growing rapidly, branch companies in Asian and European countries need your attention. You have succeeded in realizing your dreams and goals, lest there be problems that divert your focus from what you have fought for. What exactly is it you think Jeff is?"

Jeffran ignored Liam's long and wide nagging, walking towards his great chair and sitting himself there. Liam was sitting on the chair opposite Jeffran's.

"Jeff said what's wrong? Maybe I can help you. Does this have anything to do with Jillian?" For a moment Jeffran was silent in response to Liam's question, but he decided to tell him about the burden in his heart. Feeling the need for advice and help, after failing to solve the problem himself.

"Liam.. Please help me." Pinta Jeffran made Liam frown.

"What help?"

"Help me find someone." Jeffran's reply further made Liam's forehead wrinkle.

"Who should I look for and why?"

Slowly and in great detail, Jeffran finally told about his dark story that had taken away the honor of a girl he could not remember until now. As well as the oddity that made him suspect that Jillian was the girl that night.

Liam felt shock at the string of sentences he heard. Many times he widened his eyes with his mouth open without any intention of interrupting, until he finally opened his heart as soon as Jeffran finished telling the story.

"Crazy.. This is so crazy Jeff. It's worth it that you're so adamant about breaking up the cooperation with Deasy's father's company.. But I'm not gonna blame you Jeff, I feel guilty for not being able to pick up your phone that night. From now on, I'll help you find that girl bye." Determined Liam.

"My car's dashboard camera couldn't clearly capture the girl's face. I also hacked the campus CCTV cameras and all the nearby CCTVs from the location, but it turned out that some of them were damaged and others did not catch the girl's whereabouts." Clearly Jeffran while kneading his temple which suddenly pulsated.

"I wasn't ready to be beaten until I almost lost my life." Jeffran's reply instantly silenced Liam's mouth tightly. If Shawn knew Jeffran's depraved deeds, Jeffran would have been beaten to the hospital. Because Shawn always gives them advice to always respect women as much as they respect their own mothers.

"Well, I'll figure it out myself without involving anyone. I'm asking for all the CCTV footage you've got, Jeff. Maybe I can find something you're missing." Said Liam who was immediately embraced Jeffran.

"Hi Jeff's.. Hi Liam.."

The two pairs of Netra Jeffran and Liam widened perfectly, seeing someone they did not expect suddenly appear unexpectedly.

"Dhiva?" Liam. Jeffrey did not say a word. Instead he snatched the phone on the table, and contacted his secretary who was outside his room with a loudspeaker mode.

"Sindy.. How can you allow someone to enter without an appointment with me?"

"Sorry Mr. Jeffran, Ms. Dhiva said that he has an appointment with you personally. I'm sorry, sir.." Sindy's voice sounded terrified.

"Tell Security to escort this guest out. If it comes again, never let it in."

"It's good sir.." Sindy quickly agrees to her boss's strict instructions, before Jeffran hangs up the phone first.

"Jeff, please don't throw me out. I'm really sorry. I promise I won't let you down again, I want us back to what we used to be." The parched raut on Dhiva's face did not make Jeffran change his mind at all.

"I promise, I'll make you happy Jeff." Dhiva said then held Jeffran's hand which immediately hit him rough.

"Sad.. How can I be happy seeing you makes me sick." Reply Jeffran rudely.

Jeffran immediately told the new Security to bring Dhiva out. It doesn't matter that Dhiva keeps yelling begging Jeffran to forgive and give him a chance.

"Looks like Dhiva's gonna add to your problems Jeff." Liam's Assumption is dubbed Jeffran.

"Indeed.. I had a chance to meet him at Mr.'s son's reception. Ludae. She is the owner of WO where Jill worked. It's a good thing Jillian was gonna stop working there, when I asked."

"Good indeed.. Hmm, does Jillian know that Dhiva is your ex-lover?"

"Jillian doesn't need to know about Dhiva. Besides, Jillian and I both agreed not to interfere with each other's personal affairs." Liam snorted at Jeffran's explanation. Because Liam knows that Jeffran always meddles in Jillian's personal affairs. Liam knows for sure that Jeffran put a lot of bodyguards in to watch Jillian. Liam also finds out that Jeffran forbade Jillian from getting close to Ethan.

"Whatever you say, Jeff, don't let you be too late to realize how you feel. I don't want you to regret it Jeff." Jeffran frowned, hearing Liam's words. But just as he was about to ask further, Liam had already stepped out of Jeffran's study.

'What did Liam mean? Realize what feelings? If he meant my feelings for Jillian, I had absolutely no feelings of love for Jillian. I'm just comfortable with him. Then what will I regret? Ah already..
