72. Lost in the Forest (21)

Rian's fathers were crying.  He was crying with them.  They looked for the blame in their eyes, but the two only asked him to tell them how it all could happen.  It is told that they began planning the trip, how he and Rian became familiar like brothers, how he told everything about his family.

The story of hunting and fishing in the forest.

After going through an emotional farewell, Made felt more relieved.  Rian's parents didn't blame Made.  He returned to his town.  At each stop, again oa ordered a lot of food.

For hours he daydreamed like this, recalling every detail of food devoured to the point of drooling hunger and Made's stomach rumbling.  Dipped in soup water and determined to stop hurting yourself.

There is still some time before nightfall, then the preparation of travel plans tomorrow.  In the distance above it were mountains, the peaks forming an unbroken jagged row.

He can climb the top of the mountain, he thought, the forest there must be rare.  Anyway he had to keep going straight, making sure the river was always on his left.  He must be able to move fast.

Wearing shoes, hesitant to start practicing walking, mostly using the complicated parts and sides of the foot because the soles of his feet are very painful.  The presence of a niche that flows water.  The can is drawn under water that drips slowly.  When about to turn the body saw two snails stuck to the damp stone wall.  Both caught.  After returning to the fire, they put them in the soup.  He must be more observant, around here must be a lot of food.

Shoes to check the feet.  Earlier he thought both of them could support the weight, it turns out the skin is still gaping in some places.  He still feels the stinging pain.

“There are no other options, my repetition is stubborn.  Tomorrow I have to start walking.  If my feet give up or I come back to a dead end, I decide to go down to the river and wait for help there.”

He put out a small book and pen in his backpack, set the position as usual that both soles of his feet stretched out against the fire, and then began to write down all his experiences.  Write the relationship between the four of them.  How they all changed, the angry river, and how he survived what could have taken his life.

Also poured out the feeling of loneliness experienced, and ended with the sentence, “Thinking Rian makes me feel like I want to go crazy.  Make him reach another place armed with only one machete?  How does he dry his clothes?  What is the condition of his feet?  Can he make a fire?  Rian has three people's powers.  I pray for him and myself.”

At dawn, all the equipment is back in the backpack with other objects.  Wearing shoes with a feeling of fatigue, the rope tied loose.  With staggered bodies tried to pacing around the camp.

It hurt, but he could walk.  Wearing a backpack on the back and then depart, feeling confident to reach the destination city.  From there, it is a few days walk.  Later Made can form a rescue squad to find Rian.

It remained on its original determination to go down a straight path along the mountain peak.  After several futile experiments, finally found a place where money can be climbed.  Unfortunately the backpack kept getting his body pulled back.  He was afraid that he might fall again.

“Don't hurt yourself, Made.  Whatever the reason, don't get hurt.  Sprained is more than enough.”

Little by little the fishing line is stretched behind him while climbing the cliff surface in inch by inch.  He stopped, exhaled a sigh of relief, then pulled the backpack up.  The weight of the backpack is not too heavy, but the fishing line still causes a deep incision in the palm of his hand.

Continue the journey in this way for a few hours.  Physical exertion is exhausting.  The air humidity was extremely high, while the heat hit without mercy.  Sweaty pouring.  Worst of all, he was thirsty but had no water.  Leaving the river was a serious mistake.

Finally heard the gurgling of water flowing in the distance.  The roar of the water was so loud that he was sure that he had almost reached the river that was at least twice the width of this river.  The sound grew stronger.

Soon he was standing near a narrow stream that gushed from a ledge high above him, forming a swift waterfall no less than a hundred feet high.  Its glittering water hit the rocks below with a deafening thump.  The surface of the coral around the waterfall is filled with moss and green vines.

The sight stunned him.  He was also shocked because he could still enjoy the natural beauty in front of him despite being in a bad condition.

It is bent down to gulp down pure water directly from the stream and rest under the shade for about half an hour.  Now he was wiser, filling both cans with water.  Carrying water meant adding about thirteen pounds of built-in weight, but at least his esophagus would not burn with thirst anymore.

The climb is getting dangerous.  He advanced with great care while praying to reach the top in one piece.  The top of the mountain was already visible from the place hanging.  Not too far away.  This is the last surface of the reef to climb.

Not an hour later, he was dragged to the top.  Above there is no shelter.  The wind was very strong.  Now he had to walk straight by positioning the river fixed on the left.  But, where is the river?  Which way should he go?  The view in all directions looks the same.  He can't remember where the sun went down last night when it came from the river.

He's confused.  Everywhere you look, only the forested slopes.  Only now did he realize he had made a very stupid mistake.  From a distance, this mountain did indeed seem like an unbroken row so that one could walk down its peak by walking straight.

In fact, these mountains have several separate peaks.  In order to continue the journey, people must go down to the foot of one mountain and then climb the following mountain.

He was filled with panic, a fist of fear hardened in the chest.  He started running, refusing to admit to the mistakes made.  A few minutes later he could control himself and rethink.  Tomorrow he must go back down the mountain and return to the river.  If possible walk down the river.  That's what he's gonna do.

If not, wait on the beach.  Maybe help will come.  Lili and Kiki must have reached the city.  He can wait until that time comes.

It's getting dark.  He found no shelter.  There are no niches or cliffs, no caves or crevices.  Where does he spend the night?  He had to quickly find a place to camp and light a fire still bright.  Selected a piece of land with a flat surface, get rid of wet leaves and replace them with fresh, dry leaves.
