64. Lost in the Forest (13)

Lily hesitated.  Lili had indeed agreed to return, but the words of this person aroused her adventurous spirit.

“We definitely can,” said the person.  “We go alone.”

As Kiki promised, so far their vacation at the meeting point of two rivers is the best part of the whole trip.  They enjoy the amazingly clear weather.  It was late November.  Early December, usually the rainy season comes in full force.

“There is one more good reason why we should go back,” Kiki said muscled.  “Try to imagine what the conditions are like if we are caught in a rainstorm.  Besides being unpleasant, it is also dangerous.  The river overflowed to the edge, the current getting stronger.  I'm surprised we can enjoy this good weather.”

The second morning camped at a temporary picnic spot, Lili and Kiki brought rifles and machetes to hunt.

“We walk a little over the border,” suggested Kiki.  “The area looks as good as anywhere else.  We can at once see the path that we will travel later.”

They walked upstream for about an hour by breaking through the forest.they did not see the slash of a machete or a broken branch, so they could conclude that no human had ever passed through this place.  Suddenly they heard a loud roar.

“Macan! Macan!” shout Kiki.

Lili spread her gaze with a feeling of great fear.  He saw nothing, but the roar grew louder, followed by other voices that were no less ferocious in the form of a clash.

“Not a tiger,” says Kiki changed his mind.  “That's a big monkey who likes to scream.  Their roars were indeed very similar to tigers.  Look up the tree.”

Lili.  A family of very large monkeys was looking suspiciously at them and shouting at them.

“Their meat is not as good as a black monkey, but it's good,” Kiki said.  “Yuk we shoot one.”

His shot missed, even though from where he stood it seemed that the animal was an easy target.  Lili could see clearly the monkey.

“Get the rifle,” said Lili.

Lili took a rifle from Kiki, took aim, then shot.  The monkey tried to grab the branches of the tree while falling, but his body continued to slide down, until finally a low branch contained it.  Kiki snatches the rifle from Kiki's hand before running after their quarry.

“Size as big as a gorilla,” exclaimed Kiki while releasing several close shots so that the death of the monkey did not take place slowly.

The monkey fell to the ground.  Kiki pulled out the monkey's entrails in that place as well to make it lighter.  They took him to camp.

Someone tried to ignore the existence of monkey carcasses, although the smell of charred meat when they burned in the fire was very stinging and sickening.  Since morning he had been fishing and devoted all his attention to this work.

Fishing line vibrating.  Lili managed to catch a big, big-powered fish, and her movements were nimble.  Retractable fishing line, but the resistance of the fish did not loosen even a little.  Slowly try to slow down the movement of the fish until it stops completely.  War began.  With a little fishing line, the fish jerked back.  Lili knew the animal was strong enough and was able to break the thick fishing line she was holding.

Rope rolling.  The fish moved backwards with an awesome jolt of energy.  The vibration of the fishing line gives rise to a sharp drone.  His grip is getting stronger.  The fish gave up, so the rope rolled.  Suddenly the fish launched a new tactic.  Suddenly he swam towards Lili, making the fishing line loosen.

Then, suddenly chipped from the water with a surprising jump.  A beautiful fish, its body was golden scaly, also its body was long.

“That's the most delicious fish in the river!” shout Kiki.

“That's my fish!  I got it!  Return the rope,” whine Lili.

Kiki tried to calm Lili down.

After about fifteen minutes, the fish was tired.  He was drawn almost to land.  Finally after the fish stayed about a few meters from the river bank, Kiki jumped into the water lifting the fish and threw it into the sand.  The fish is huge.  His body glittered under the sunlight.

“Good work!” praise Kiki with a proud voice while patting Lili on the back.

Kiki took care of them as well as usual.  He wanted them to enjoy a cucumber salad with garlic and limes.  He collected the fatty fish and melted it in a frying pan to fry the banana.

Dinner is served.  All were busy eating by putting their respective bowls on their laps.  The meat of the fish was delicious, white, soft, boneless.  Lili sat on a log that was quite far away from them.  He looks depressed.  He came and sat next to her.

“Sorry I was acting rich baby,” regretted Lili.  “Gue has never caught such a fish.  So I want to bring him on land.  I know my actions are stupid, sorry.”

“Already,” said someone else.  “I also owe you an apology.  I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, nor did I want to show off, just that I knew we needed the fish to eat.  I mean, we all would rather eat fish than monkeys.”

“Iya, right.  I'm glad we could talk in person.  I don't know what else to do.  That guy is very hostile towards me.”

“The feeling is irritated because we canceled the river.  It is difficult for him to accept the fact that we are forced to give up and decide to walk.”

“Gue tell, yes.  To be honest I also prefer to continue through the river even though he said dangerous.  At least we don't have to walk.  I don't know if I can walk far,” said Lili.

“Take it easy.  Kiki said for two days.  After that we can ride the vehicle.”

“Maybe right.  But, the other day Kiki said the village was only a five-day walk away, in fact he was wrong.”

Some time later near the fire lived Lili and Kiki.

“Well, I said what,” said Kiki in a satisfied tone.  “Rest, fishing, hunting, casual chatting in the moonlight.  As far as I'm concerned, it's an unparalleled experience.”

He stopped for a moment.  “While yes, how did you three end up here with me?”

The next day someone else systematically scraped every last detail about the canyon out of Kiki's mouth.  Kiki answered the question with pleasure to prove that her decision to walk was reasonable and reasonable.  He even marked the approximate location of the canyon and the death stream on the map.

Lili harbored the suspicion that someone else was asking all of it not out of sheer curiosity.  He asked her personally and said that if they were planning to continue on the raft trip, he was seriously considering joining.

“If you two are alone, it must be very risky,” said Lili.  “Six hands are better than four.”

“Come, Li.  I also don't know what he had in mind.”

Later when told that LIli wanted to come along, someone else refused fieryly.

“He can't come.  It could be all messed up.  No need to beat around the bush, just say we don't want him to come.”

“We can't do that, his feelings are easily hurt.  We find another way.”
