Lily felt needed. Kiki said that because Lili shot him. Had he shot him himself, Kiki would have said the bird was delicious.
Lili's game was still served for dinner, but no one touched it. Lili was sad to think of the beautiful bird whose life was finished without any benefit. A large lump of frustration stuck up his neck and felt Lili's tears welling up.
Something strange happened a few days later. Lili, who felt her condition was getting better and had the encouragement of Kiki, had a surprising change of heart. He decided to take the raft with Kiki.
“Why did you change your mind,” ask someone who joined the group. “You shouldn't be riding a raft. Your condition is not healthy, your legs are inflamed.”
Lili insisted on coming. “Gue starts with Kiki, I will finish with Kiki,” said Lili.
“Actually you want to prove what the hell? I don't understand your attitude at all.” Kiki riled up and Lili flinched.
Tension does not subside. The next day an unpleasant event happened. Lili and Kiki went to check on the continuation of the raft making. Before long the sister-in-law of the customary elder came to their hut.
“Those gentlemen ask you to see the raft,” said the man.
“For what?” ask Lili. “We've seen it.”
“The assembly is done. They said you guys should see.”
“Let's just say we fully trust their judgment,” ketus Lili exasperated without taking her eyes off her book.
Lili explained to the man that they had seen the raft. If Kiki and Lili don't need help, just want them to go see that thing. They prefer to rest in the hut.
Half an hour later, someone showed up. “You guys why, why not come to the river?”
“For what?” ask Lili.
“We have to check the buoyancy of the raft by riding it together. Plus two more people to represent the weight of our supplies and tools,” explained the person.
Lily apologized too. “We don't understand the boy's report. She didn't say you needed us.”
“Ga nothing, not a big problem.” Kiki put on a friendly smile.
The three of them walked to the river to board the raft. The color of the wooden bars is now a little paler than the other day, but still green. The raft was so heavy that it went too deep into the water and was hard to control.
“Ga good,” custom elder said. “You have to wait again.”
“My time isn't much,” said Kiki with an unconcealed concern. “Maybe we have no choice but to walk.”
“There are other alternatives,” said the custom elder. “On the other side of our village, my brother's neighbor had four large, dry logs. Try to meet him. If he wants to sell all that wood, we just add two dry rods on each side of this raft. The results must be much different.”
After dinner Lili proposed that the two of them walk outside the village, to a large grassy field where horses graze. Lilies like to sit on a fallen tree while looking at the horses, watching a special horse that is strong and muscular.
Every night Lili went there alone, without even telling Kiki about this place. Sitting enjoying the silence on the log while singing loudly.
Lili and Kiki sat on the wood. It was hard to start a conversation, but eventually the conversation started.
“Kirain we won't talk to each other again forever,” said Lili. “Often I want to talk to you, but you're always far away. Every time I tried to get close to you during the trip, you hurriedly kept on either side. I always try to join in to help but you don't ignore me.”
“Gue had to buy Kiki all day, listening to her stupid stories. Because, I don't have any other friends. I want to ask you directly, what really happened, dear you keep rejecting me.”
“Lu remember the night when we were alone in the campfire? At that time I intended to talk, but you even entered the tent. I keep going outside, hoping you understand and come out again. Apparently my mind is wrong.”
“This trip was a big disaster for me. I'm feeling down, not enjoying it at all.”
“The power is right. Something has changed even though I don't know what it is. There are no special triggers, our relationship is stretched so, not the same as before. Maybe I was rude and disrespectful. While you feel uneasy in the forest.”
Lili cried softly, her whole body trembling. For the first time since they made this trip, there was pity. Lili was no longer happy to see Kiki away from her. Now Lili understands why it is important for Kiki's existence for her.
“Listen, Ma'am. Let's be friends again like we used to be. I don't know what's got into us in this forest. We're going back to town. Everything must be fine. It's not true that I ignored you. Let's collect our friendship pieces and make friends again.”
Word by word flowed. Maybe Lili managed to get them back in the caria mood, but they will never be as familiar as before. That day they did talk, but impressed forced and unnatural.
Time pass. Kiki and the troupe bought four logs of dry wood. Kiki and his entourage crossed the village to pick up the four logs, floating them into the river. They were soaked when they returned.
Lili and Kiki went to cut even more rope from the bark of the tree and connect it into long ropes to tie additional trunks to the raft, so that it was wider in size and more floating.
The customary elder informed him that the raft was safe to use. They decided to leave tomorrow.
They continued to work until noon. Kiki made a high stage in the middle of the raft. Tomorrow morning they tied food supplies and all the equipment to the stage, covered it with nylon sheets to keep it dry.
Last night in the village, they gathered all the luggage. They only had dried bean rice, a large batch of king bananas, bringing along the groceries collected the past few days.
They pay for these items with gifts, according to the giver's choice. The person in charge of financial affairs was Kiki and the two made a lot of mistakes. Kiki sells almost all fishing line rolls until the rest are up to a little.
That night they enjoyed a farewell meal. The customary elder borrowed a rifle and managed to shoot a huge boar. When they were willing to pay the price of the raft, the food and the wages of his wife, the customary elder asked for only a small fee.
The traditional elder did not want to pay for the food they ate in his house, all the chickens were slaughtered specifically for them. The fresh vegetables they enjoy every day, the game animals their family catches, and so many drinks.
