"Hey, Baby," William greeted in a slightly hoarse voice after Karina raised the call from him.
Ever since the hot night that happened between them a while ago, he barely had a chance to call Karina. They only exchanged news a few times through chat messages.
"Hey, Will .... I miss you," Karina replied with her spoiled voice.
William smiled broadly at the adorable tone, though Karina could not see it. Slightly chuckling, he replied in a more seductive voice.
"Miss you too, Baby."
Karina's face blushed. She felt as if she had returned to her teenage years, where she was in love for the first time. If William were nearby at this time, Karina would have embraced and kissed him. He missed the young man, wanting to cling and spend every moment with him.
Karina hopes to one day destroy the wall of her fear, against the helplessness she has felt for her loved ones. Without thinking about the risks, he was determined to try.
If only he knew that what he was going to do would not only have a huge impact on him, but also on the people he cared about and loved so much, he said, perhaps Karina would not have the slightest bit of courage even just to think about it.
"What about dinner, Will? Can you come?" he said expectantly.
Some time ago he had informed about his desire to have dinner with William through a chat message. He waits for an answer from her, despite knowing the possibility for William to agree is almost impossible.
William was speechless, and his silence justified Karina's guess.************ his journal, Karina was disappointed.
William, who was unaware of his lover's disappointment, glanced at Anan, who still looked pale, then looked at the ceiling and let out a long sigh. He thought of the exact sentence of what he had to say without having to hurt Karina's feelings. Unfortunately, the more he thought about it, the more he came to a dead end.
The suddenly silent atmosphere made Karina's heart sink even more. He relaxed his shoulders on the back of the bed, trying to contain his disappointment. He knew what the answer was without having to wait for William to say it.
Biting her lips, Karina thought hard and tried to be wise even though she could not. Right now he needs William desperately, someone who recently claimed to love and want him. But he couldn't force it. Didn't want to make him feel constrained to think of running away like he did.
He knows he is not perfect. Therefore Karina wanted to understand William, wanted to understand and make him always feel comfortable. He will not burden her with the problems that are currently entangling her. Problems that lately can not make him sleep soundly to make it seem difficult to breathe.
"Acst ...."
William rubs his temples. "Sorry, Baby," he said.
"He ... still hasn't improved?" Karina changed the topic to ease the awkwardness.
"Yes." Yeah." William nodded, but immediately shook his head even though Karina could not see him. "No. .. not like that either." She's confused.
"Actually, that's good enough. It's just, the day we had an appointment. We always get together on weekends and friends are already on their way. I'm not happy to cancel it" he said. "Sorry, Baby. I should have told you earlier." William lamented.
"Ha ha's. Like that, huh?"
Karina tried to laugh even though her jaw was stiff. He knew William wouldn't see his ugly laugh. A speck of water dripped from the corner of Karina's eyes without being prevented. He rubbed it, trying to hold back his voice from sounding raucous.
He was sad, indeed, because it turned out that William was more concerned with his best friend than he, his lover. Though they had just been made, which should still be warm. But Karina tried to choose to be mature, as much as possible she suppressed her ego.
"It's okay, Will." He tried to sound as natural as possible. "I understand. Don't worry, and .. have fun."
William breathed a sigh of relief. In her mind Karina was a woman who was always adult-minded. He turned out to be right. He smiled, unable to hide his delight as he spoke.
"Big, Baby. Your the best. I'm lucky to have you" he said sincerely.
Karina's body squeezed for a moment. His hand gripped the chest, enduring the tightness that almost made his cry explode.
All this time he's been used to pretending to be okay, but with William it feels very different. He wants more, he wants to be first.
"You deserve that, honey. I'm not a greedy girlfriend who would cruelly waste all your time" she said, pretending to be joking.
"After all, I don't have a work leave permit yet either" he lied.
He didn't even know if what he had been doing was really a job!
"So, enjoy your time. Don't think too much."
"What about breakfast?" william advises later, thinking it can make up for his delayed dinner as well as his guilt.
"Go to the restaurant tomorrow, and I'll cook your favorite meal," she broke before Karina could answer.
Karina felt her heart warm up a little. The layer of ice that had been enveloping his heart slowly began to melt.
"Okay" he replied happily.
William relaxed his shoulders, his nerves that had been tense now relaxed for a moment. "It's been decided."
Tok tok!
William turned his head to the door, the rough knocking annoyed him.
"It looks like they're coming" he told Karina.
"Greet them."
"Yes. Then ...."
Tok tok!
William growling. "Can't be patient for a minute!" her screams, made Karina chuckle.
William's gaze turned to Anan who was about to get up from the sofa.
"Stay lying!" snapped it. "Let me open the door" he continued in a softer tone.
Karina surprised. From William's tone of voice, he could hear an anxiety. The feeling that had just improved suddenly sank back. He didn't know what to do except to be quiet.
'Is he that important, Will?' Karina shakes.
"Baby, see you tomorrow. Love you." - Love you." William closed his call and rushed towards the door before Karina could even answer.
Karina stared at the screen of her phone that had just dimmed, her heart empty. He always felt sure that William really cared for him, but somehow he also felt that he was not the top priority for him.
'Who exactly is the person you're with, Will? Is he that important?'
Karina squeezed her chest because of the tightness that came back. His heart throbbed more painfully.
"Can't someone really care about me and love me sincerely?" sadly. Burning her face on the pillow, Karina sobbed until her body shook.
Tap tap tap!
The noise of the shoes that were already very familiar made him flinch. His body shivered, realizing that soon something bad would befall him.
Karina raised her body slowly, she sat down and curled up with both hands hugging her knees.
He's back!
