Chapters 37. Drunk Arimbi

After one week, Nick again invited Arimbi to dinner at one of his apartments. He wanted to trap the woman.

Dusk had come, and the sky had started to turn into a bright orange. The dining table is ready, with candles in the middle and fresh flowers in the corner of the table. Nick waits restlessly for Arimbi's arrival. He checked the phone over a hundred times just to make sure that the woman had not canceled their meeting.

Suddenly, the doorbell rings, and Nick's heart beats rapidly. She opened the door and in front of me was the woman she was waiting for, Arimbi, with her sweet smile. He was wearing an elegant black shirt and his hair was neatly tied behind.

"I'm so happy to see you" said Arimbi and hugged Nick. "You look so handsome today."

"Thank you" Nick replied with a happy smile.

They sit around the dining table, and Nick opens the bottle of red wine he has prepared. Arimbi seemed pleased with the service I gave him and evaluated the food I made.

"Today you were so skilled, you made such a delicious dish" Arimbi said with a smile. "You are great." Arimbi praised back.

Nick smiled, but to be honest he actually hated all this. He feels hatred for Arimbi, but the man does not want to show any hope that the woman falls into his trap.

"Thank you, I'm cooking carefully and specifically for tonight because I want to serve you with happiness" Nick said. He endured his anger and emotions.

They talk about anything, share stories about work and family. They both laughed and smiled at each other. Nick is trying to show that he's enjoying tonight when in fact, it's all an act.

A few moments later, they finished the meal. Nick prepares a glass of cognac for them to drink together. As the two were relaxing in the living room, the man noticed Arimbi's smile that was so crisp, feeling happiness.

Unlike Arimbi, Nick tries to hold all his anger and emotions every time he sees Arimbi. She could imagine how much pain Rachel felt when she saw Arimbi making love to her lover.

Nick accidentally gets Arimbi to drink until he gets drunk. Nick wants to ask for honesty from the woman.

"Honey, why my head feels so dizzy" said Arimbi.

"Try relaxing for a moment. Let the headache go away," said Nick.

Nick decides to give Arimbi a chance . She obviously could not tell the woman about her problem, but she could take the opportunity to know more about this woman before her. Maybe he'll fix his mood.

They start talking and laughing, Arimbi tells a story about his job as a model and Nick tells about his career and business, before he moves to this city. They exchange information about their hobbies and hobbies. They both love jazz and are both interested in classic films.

Suddenly, Nick names some people and they end up talking about their current friends. Arimbi even mentioned about someone Nick wanted to know more.

Of course, Arimbi initially objected to answering Nick's question. He felt like he could hide behind a drink when Nick asked him to be honest. Arimbi felt a little trapped. However, as his consciousness dwindled he still answered.

"There's one thing I really want to know" Nick said, staring at Arimbi with sharp eyes. "What about that friend called Rafael, you said earlier?"

Arimbi was a little surprised, but he knew he should not give up. "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about that friend. Do you know him too?" asked Arimbi in a quiet voice.

"How's he?" ask Nick again.

"Yes, he and I are quite close" Arimbi said. "He is very talented as a musician and has an amazing ability to produce lyrics."

Nick laughed a little. "What makes him so special?" ask Nick again. Rafael is a loser. He was the main cause of Rachel's death.

"Ah, there's nothing special about him. He is just a close friend" replied Arimbi, trying to distract.

Nick continued to look at Arimbi, and finally he nodded in understanding. He could sense that Arimbi was trying to avoid his question. He couldn't help but feel a little born and smile a little.

Arimbi felt a little anxious, he felt like he was running out of time. He had to finish this chat quickly before Nick asked more difficult questions.

"It seems like our drinking is over," Arimbi said in a less clear voice from being drunk, as he raised his small cup.

“Don't go home, let me buy another drink." Nick tried to hold it.

Nick agrees and Arimbi looks very calm. He felt like the woman was avoiding any honest explanation from him. Nick tried to look understood and they spoke again without any awkwardness. They even talked about some of their favorite classic movies.

Suddenly, Arimbi felt completely drunk and he felt all the surroundings seem to be circling. He tried to grab something at the table, but he felt unbalanced and banged his head against the table.

"Arimbi, are you feeling all right?" Nick asked, surprised.

"Yes, I'm fine" said Arimbi, opening his eyes wide. "I just feel a little drunk."

Arimbi felt nauseous, suddenly wanted to vomit. Nick looked a little surprised and quickly took the woman to the toilet. The woman vomited a lot there. Arimbi felt very embarrassed and apologized many times.

"I'm sorry, Nick," said Arimbi, trying to comfort himself. "I can't face a drink like that."

"It's okay," said Nick, patting Arimbi on the back to ease his panic. "You were good enough to come here. Come on, let's take another break" Nick asked. He helps Arimbi walk back to the living room.

"Do you know a girl named Rachel?" ask Nick as soon as they've sat down.

"That spoiled girl. She's a flirtatious girl who always comes close to Rafael. Though the man did not love him," said Arimbi mumbled.

Nick clenched his hand holding back the anger of hearing Arimbi's words.

"Are Rafael and Rachel dating?" ask Nick again.

"Just Rachel loves Rafael, but the man doesn't. The proof is that she's suing Rachel!" arimbi said again.

"Who is Rafael's affair?" ask Nick back.

Arimbi approached Nick and said in a soft voice. "Don't tell anyone, Rafael and I cheated on Rachel. On Rafael's birthday, the spoiled girl comes to the apartment to surprise him. But he was shocked when he saw me making love to Rafael."

Nick took a deep breath, the secret veil of his sister's early cause of death began to open. He will not forgive this woman because Arimbi and Rafael were the cause of his sister's murder.
