In the morning, Nayaka is preoccupied with Kyomi's sudden fussiness of not wanting to be left alone. Kyomi wants to go with her father to work. Tired of Nayaka persuading her, but the girl still wants to come along.
"Why take a short walk on a motorbike?"
Kyomi shakes. "Kyomi wants to come."
"Papa has to work, Kyomi," said Nayaka. "You can play with your phone as you please. Later in the day, Papa will be home."
"Kyomi doesn't want to be here. Kyomi wants to go back to Paris."
"We don't have any money. Understand, Honey. If you keep this up, Papa will be fired."
"No want to stay here" said Kyomi, who began to whine.
Nayaka checked on her daughter's condition. Usually if Kyomi starts to whine, there must be something from the condition of her sick child's body.
"Kyomi's sick?"
The boy shook his head. "You're coming."
Nayaka took a long breath. "If you come to the office, Kyomi must be bored there. No toys, no books, and Kyomi wants to sit down where?"
"It's the same Papa."
"Will aunt Angel? Kyomi can play at school."
Kyomi shakes. "You're going with Papa anyway."
The office is only half an hour away. Nor is Nayaka likely to skip work on her second day. He must be professional, good at dividing time between personal and work, but in fact he is a single parent. All by yourself including calming a fussy little boy.
"Kyomi put on the jacket first. We went to the office together" Nayaka said.
I want to be angry, but Kyomi is just a child. Sometimes his daughter understood his circumstances, but could also whine like this. The problem is Nayaka is not comfortable when seen by office friends. There will be various questions addressed to him later.
"Kyomi is ready" he said.
"We're leaving" Nayaka said as she put a helmet on her daughter's head, and the two got on the bike and passed.
Arriving at the company, Nayaka immediately takes Kyomi into the office cafeteria. Obviously the employees who had breakfast there were astonished to see that there was a small child that Nayaka had brought, but they did not ask because the working hours had begun.
"Money makes Kyomi jajan," said Nayaka, handing over a fifty-thousand note. "Kyomi don't go anywhere, yeah. Wait for Papa here."
"Kyomi doesn't want to be here!" he said it in French.
"Kyeomi!" Nayaka was getting angry.
The cafeteria mother was astonished at the language used by the two, but seeing from the look on Nayaka's face, the man was definitely angry.
"Okay, Kyomi will be here."
"I'm sorry, Papa. But it's office hours. Wait here and don't throw tantrums" Nayaka said, then switch to the cafeteria. "Mom, please look at my son."
"Oh, yes, Mas" said the canteen's mother who didn't know Nayaka.
Nayaka rushed out of the canteen. The rule of the company is a pay cut if it is late. He just got in, and now it's too late.
"It looks like it's a new employee," muttered the cafeteria's mother, then looked at Kyomi. "Eh, well, it looks like Delilah's mother."
Kyomi looked at the middle-aged mother. "Can you give me some orange juice?" Kyomi says it in French.
"What, Son? What are you talking about?" ask the canteen.
"Kyomi wants orange juice."
"Well, if that's what I understand. Waduh, the kid is now on great all."
Nayaka's focus is disrupted. There was no stopping him looking at the clock from his phone screen. Fear and worry enveloped because Kyomi was in the cafeteria.
"You're not focused, Nayaka" Mery said.
"I'm sorry, I'm a little dizzy" Nayaka said.
"It's an important task, Nayaka. We have to finish this in two months. Delilah's mother wants to be done before her wedding takes place."
Just hearing that Nayaka's blood instantly boiled, his heart ached in slicing pain. "We'll be done in two months. You don't have to worry. Our boss will get some sweet news as his wedding present."
"I'm fine, Mery. Let's just continue putting together activities for his promotion."
The same thing with Delilah who does not focus on her work because she remembers the incident last night at Nayaka's place. Still shocked at the request of the ex-lover so outrageous. Delilah did not think. The gentle and affectionate Nayaka can act rudely. Delilah was not surprised because Nayaka's biological father was so rude even though he never knew him.
The door of space opens. Nela came in with a few more files in hand. He put the map on the table.
"Oh, yes, Mom. Mr. Andy gave a message for you to come to the office" Nela said.
Delilah took a long breath. "No chance. Just tell Andy or ask Diki to come."
Dion and Bastian's legacy company was run by Andy, Dion's confidant during his lifetime. Delilah did not pay attention to the company because he focused on his own business.
"Mr Andy will be mad at me, ma'am. Said Mom didn't pick up the call."
"Let me call. You accompany me to the canteen. I need coffee to get rid of the drowsiness."
"Let me do it, Mom."
Delilah shook her head. "I don't like instant coffee. I like the canteen aunt's work."
Nela offered Delilah's invitation. The two went out together. Delilah steals the lyrics into the space Nayaka occupies. The man was chatting with Mery.
"Yesterday Angel, now Mery. He's becoming a seductive man now" Delilah murmured.
"Who, Ma?" ask Nela.
"Nobody" replied Delilah.
Of course Delilah was shocked to see Kyomi in the cafeteria. His daughter was eating bread with the canteen's mother. The beautiful face and sweet laughter of the boy touched Delilah's deepest heart. Guilt arises for leaving a child who knows nothing.
"Kyomi," said Delilah.
"Aante!" Kyomi got up from her seat, ran to hug Delilah. "Aunty works here?"
"Yes, Honey. Why is Kyomi here?"
"Kyomi wants to come with papa."
"Mom, whose child is he?" ask Nela.
"Message me to eat and coffee. We'll sit there" Delilah said without answering Nela's question.
Delilah took Kyomi to a seat, while Nela, curious about the little boy, began to look for information from the canteen's mother.
"Papa must be angry Kyomi came here" said Delilah.
"Kyomi won't repeat it. Promise me tomorrow won't be here again."
"Kyomi wants to go with Auntie?" ask Delilah.
"Where?"
"Doll house."
"You got a doll house?" Kyomi started talking in a foreign accent.
Delilah laughs. "Tante doesn't speak French."
"Just like Kyomi's mom."
Delilah was shocked to hear it. "Mama Kyomi? Who?"
"Angel Aunt. She's nice and Kyomi wants her to be a mama."
"Dear, don't talk like that. No other woman can replace your biological mother" Delilah said.
"Kyomi doesn't understand."
Delilah hugged Kyomi, peeling her forehead and cheeks several times. There was love in his heart. The daughter he had neglected, forget it, Delilah regretted leaving her.
"Darling, you have a mama."
