I'm a Savings Woman
Little Reyhan

PoV Faradina

Sofia is now 14, Reyhan is 12. It was 14 years ago that I began my journey as a mother. Believe not believe the taste. Everything really goes so fast.

Before Sofia was born, Ammar and I lived in our new home for only two years of marriage as a married couple married for an arranged marriage. Even though we were married because of an arranged marriage, everything went so well and far beyond what I thought.

At first I thought that our marriage would be difficult for us. But from the first night as husband and wife, Ammar and I were able to get close quickly. There was no sense of awkwardness between the two of us as if we had known each other for a long time.

It took me a hundred days to finally give my whole soul and body to my husband Ammar. We went through a honeymoon period of a month. But unlike other newlywed couples who spend their honeymoon with making out and making out. But we spent a month getting to know each other.

Just one year into our marriage, I finally found out that I was pregnant with the fruits of our love. I could see how happy she was when I gave her a surprise to tell her about my pregnancy.

The first pregnancy went well for me, but not with Ammar. I know for a fact that he had enough trouble with the cravings I felt. I used to trouble her a lot by waking her up every night because of my strange desires. But he always tried to be a husband who was on standby and still follow the strange desire of his wife who was cravings.

Sofia was born smoothly even though at that time I had never felt what it was like to give birth. I remember when my sister-in-law and cousin Amira said that giving birth was not too painful, especially if giving birth to a second child.

But what happened to me was different when I gave birth to Reyhan's youngest. At that time I did not think that the pain would be very painful.

I wonder, why can Amira say that it does not hurt?

I can still remember how painful it was to give birth to Reyhan. Especially with the sewing process that I think is much more painful than the birth process.

Reyhan was born as a tiny baby. His head alone was much smaller than my chest which was swollen at the time. Previously Sofia two years before Reyhan, was born with a weight of 4 kg so she immediately grew up. That's why I was confused to see the little Reyhan. I'm afraid he's malnourished. Fortunately the doctor said if 2.75 kg was normal.

"Darling, is our child malnourished? But all this time I always eat regularly and also a lot. I always follow the doctor's advice." I snuck up to Ammar when I saw Reyhan who had just been born into the world.

"No dear. You heard what the doctor said. Our handsome baby is in good health. The body is small, but everything is normal." Ammar.

"Honey, Mama also gave birth to your sister Denis weighing less than 3 kg. But after Mama routinely gave her breast milk, her weight gradually rose and instead she became a pretty fat baby." Said my Mama.

My mother-in-law also kept trying to convince me to stay calm. And in fact as everyone says, Reyhan eventually grew fat and became a very healthy child. I feel very happy to see his progress.

It was about Reyhan 12 years ago. And since then my whole world has changed after Reyhan's rise as a member of our family. With Sofia and Reyhan, I learned to explore a new side of myself that I had never been through. Many of my life choices after that depended heavily on the two of them.

Sofia is much closer to Ammar. Reyhan is closer to me. Both grew up with different interests and passions. Sofia prefers to play with friends her age. Reyhan is different. Maybe because he often saw me and Ammar in front of the computer, then since childhood Reyhan was interested in computers. Fortunately there were many teachers scattered around for him and could teach himself personally at home.

One work he ever made as a child was a video about himself and his friends. Background recording of his voice when he was 2 years old.

"Reyhan really looks like Papa." My mom said tears when she saw the video Reyhan made.

I hugged my Mama and went back to recalling the memories of Opa. Mama is right, little Reyhan does look like a small version of Opa Reyhan twin. Even when I compared Reyhan's photo to Opa's as a child, it was like there was no difference between the two of them.

"I hope that our little Reyhan can have a good attitude and personality like Opa." I said to Mama.

"Of course it's dear." Reply to Mama.

...----------------...

Reyhan is now a teenager. One interesting thing about Reyhan's development is his love of reading. Frankly, because I'm a fan of comics and games, so my children eventually grew up to become fans of comics and games. Although outside of that we still stimulate them with quality children's books, but Reyhan's favorite small comic. If you go to the bookstore, the chosen one is comics.

I think it's a moment of shifting favorite reading it. Since then Reyhan has started looking for a thicker book. When the exam is out of town, Reyhan is amazed to see the collection of Aunt Alia, the wife of Om Arka's twin sister Mama, which is loaded with cool books. Reyhan said that finishing the exam Reyhan wanted to start collecting living book books like the collection of Aunt Alia.

"Ma, I can start a collection of books like the one Oma Alia has." Reyhan.

"Of course, baby." My speech.

Apparently, had not had time to go to the bookstore, there was a surprise coming right on Reyhan's eleventh birthday that time.

While compiling her book Reyhan said, "Ma, from now on I really want a collection of books like this. I like that so much."

"Of course, honey. Read a book good for knowledge." My reply smiled as he rubbed his head gently.

Here I feel that it turns out, although Reyhan likes games, likes comics and likes to watch movies, but all that does not dampen his favorite reading books living book.

I asked him once.

Reyhan prefers where to watch movies, play games, read comics and read novels?"

Reyhan laughed and said, "where might Ma compare, it feels like something else. I like everything."

When the question was changed, "According to Reyhan, which is more useful, watching movies, playing games, reading comics or novel books?"

Reyhan replied, "Everything is useful Ma. Although there may be one activity that only makes me happy, but it will make me happy that the benefits are great so that the spirit of doing another."

Facing teenagers must be smart to pull. The longer, my position began to shift, not just to tell but more to give an understanding of why a thing needs to be done. Little Reyhan is now a teenager. Likewise with Sofia, her brother who has started to become a teenage girl. Where it makes Ammar much more protective to him for fear that his Princess will get to know the opposite sex quickly.

"Call me lebay baby. But I really feel that my time with our two children is staying for a while. Soon they'll both be flying off to find themselves and live their lives." I said to Ammar as we both sat on the back porch of the house looking at Sofia who was busy with her friends.

While Reyhan seemed busy reading a book in a gazebo in the middle of the garden next to the house.

"That's life, baby. Everything goes forward, not backward. Our children are getting older, and we are getting older. I can only hope that if we can be like Oma Izzah and Opa Reyhan who have the opportunity to be given a long life by God until they can witness the birth of their great-grandson." Reply Ammar.

I smiled listening to what Ammar said. That's right, I also want us to be given the opportunity to live longer until we can finally see our grandchildren until our great-grandchildren grow up.

...----------------...

At exactly 12 midnight, I entered with the cake I had prepared since noon with Ammar and Sofia into Reyhan's room which was rarely locked. Today is his 12th birthday.

We went in and saw him still in a sleeping position with a book in his hand.

'Happy birthday, my dear, may whatever you do in the future always be in the protection of God, and may God please convey you to your best destiny, making you a useful human being for His universe. I love you, my prince!' I said in my heart.

After that Sofia then shouted singing a birthday song that immediately woke up the deep sleep of my teenage prince.

"The Happy Birthday Reyhaaaann...." Shouting Sofia.
