At 10 a.m., Wildan's brother finally came to pick them up from Bandung. Dikta's family then said goodbye to Dikta and Varissa. Apparently, Grandma Widya shed her tears again when she said goodbye to her two favorite grandchildren.
"Grandmother can stay here if she wants," Dikta said as she took off the Granny's embrace.
"It does, too. But, where can Grandma stay away from home? You know, how much does that house mean to Grandma? How about the plantation too? Who'd be watching if not Grandma?" grandma Widya gave an explanation.
Dikta nodded in understanding. His grandmother was not a typical person who could get far from his hometown. Moreover, if he had to leave the house that he lived in for decades, his grandmother felt too heavy. It was the only place where the memories of her late husband still felt so vivid in her memory. And, since the first Grandma also always said she would die in the same place and in the same bed, where Grandpa Dikta used to breathe his last breath.
So much love for Grandma to Grandpa. Until the house that should have been renovated many times to keep up with the times was also never remodeled. Even if it is refurbished, most only paint the walls. The rest, it's all the same since the old days. It made Grandma Widya feel that her husband was always with her.
"If you have time, you must visit home, yes!" widya's Grandma said to Varissa and Dikta.
"Always, Grandma will also give up all the rights of Dikta that Grandma has never had time to give."
"Dikta don't need that, Grandma!" said Dikta while sighing.
"Don't!" said Grandma Widya. "Maybe, now you have a treasure. But, still the legacy that Grandma and Papa you left behind certainly also remains yours. Your rights. And that's all you can't refuse."
"But, Grandma...,"
"Va, please persuade your husband", said Grandma Widya cut Dikta's speech. His grandson would still refuse. "Liar however, the only remaining heir of our family lineage is only him. So, please give your husband some understanding."
"Yes, Grandma. Later let Va do the talking," Varissa nodded with a smile.
"About, Grandma's legacy is a little, so it's rejected." The old woman's face looked disappointed.
"Eh, ma'am-not that," said Dikta interrupting.
"That's it. The car is leaving. Take care of yourself, yes. Don't forget, always tell me."
"Yes, Grandma!" varissa said nodding.
He then drove Grandma Widya to the car while Dikta caught up with them with her suitcase.
"Good health, Grandma!" Varissa kissed the back of Grandma Widya's hand respectfully.
"You too, son! Grandma pray, may the ideals that you want soon be achieved. Don'tbeafraid. Grandma's prayer will be with you at all times."
Varissa's heart was filled with such a deep day. Is this how it feels to be loved by in-laws sincerely? Clearly, Varissa felt the difference between Grandma Widya and Retno first. The sincerity of Grandma Widya is able to be conveyed to touch the bottom of Varissa's heart. Meanwhile, Retno's love was only able to feel when she exchanged it for money and materials.
Varissa and Dikta waved their hands as the car belonging to Wildan's sister had already moved away from the courtyard. Slowly, the car disappeared after passing through the gate of their house. There was a sense of sadness left behind because the meeting felt so short. However, even so, this farewell would also only last for a while.
Not long after, Dikta's phone felt vibrating in his pants pocket. The man then picked up the phone which turned out to be from Bang Rambo. The look on his face was very serious after the call was cut off.
"Who?" ask Varissa curiously.
"The Rambo."
"You mean, the burly Om-om who used to tell me your sister was married to us?" ask Varissa again. Still he remembered how the big tall man with a scary look was so sumringah introduced himself to Varissa as Dikta's sister.
"Hello adek in-law. His name is Rambo. This brother, your brother's your husband. Lookie! Our hair looks similar! Don't ask us face. Kind of like a betel in three, hahahaha."
If you remember what the man said at their wedding, Varissa wanted to laugh at herself. Moreover, it seemed that Dikta did not give any denial to what Bang Rambo said.
"What did Rambo say? How come your face is so serious?"
"Oh yeah? So, you mean he's been arrested?" ask Varissa with widened eyes.
"Yes. And, she said Mauren had given birth."
"Occordingly, what is the fate of the baby? It's a pity to stay in jail with his mother."
"Baby dumped. Residents found the baby lifeless two days later in a landfill."
"W-What?" Varissa looked so shocked listening to her husband's words. Her tears even sighed at the tragic fate of the innocent baby. "How come there's a mother as evil as Mauren in this world? That's the baby herself, Ta! How could he do that?"
"He may not be human anymore" replied Dikta, hugging his wife who looked so shocked.
"Then, how about Erik and his family? They know?"
Dikta nodded his head. "But now Erik and his family are out of town."
"Why?"
Dikta breathed deeply. "I asked Erik to do that."
"And he wants to?"
Dikta nodded. The events of him who released Tika from the police station had never been told to Varissa because he thought it was not an important issue.
"That's a condition she must meet in order to free her sister from the police station."
"When you're in jail, Ta? Why?" asked Varissa who was obviously surprised to hear this.
"Remember, won't Erik come here last time?"
Varissa. Of course he remembers. That incident only happened a few days ago.
"At that time, he asked me to release his sister from prison."
"But, why, Ta? Why is Tika in jail?"
"He deliberately attacked Mauren with a sharp weapon."
"W-What?" Varissa is getting stupefied. Complicated problems that befell her ex-husband's family.
"I'm sorry I just told you." Dikta downcast feeling guilty.
"You're not wrong, though. After all, they and I have broken up. But, can you take me to Mauren?"
"For what?" tanya Dikta felt they had absolutely no business with Mauren or Erik's family.
"No why-why. Just wanted to say hello. Can, right?"
For some reason, hearing of the death of Mauren's son due to the actions of the depraved woman herself, made Varissa's blood boil. I don't know what the sins of the newborn baby are so that it must end up being so stragic. He is not inexhaustible with the mind of women like Mauren out there. Have women like those who are easily given children to be grateful for and live the destiny that exists with legowo? After all, even though the child was not their will, but were they not present because of the actions of his mother as well? Why are these innocent babies targeted and victimized?
Not a few women are like Varissa. So crave the presence of a child but unfortunately the trust they have not yet obtained from God. Or, maybe they are still asked to put in more effort.
"I have to make a calculation with Mauren, Ta. Can you arrange that for me?" Varissa grinned. He will teach the ungrateful woman a lesson in his own way.
