Hour passed. Slowly, the door opened. Dikta who had fallen asleep finally opened his eyes. His tired face cannot be covered. However, at once his lips drew a smile as he looked at Varissa had now stood before him.
The beautiful woman seemed to wipe away her tears. He had not expected that Dikta would really wait as the man had said a while ago. He sat down next to Dikta. Bending both knees then resting his head on the man's shoulder.
"Am I really barren, huh, Ta?" ask Varissa to start the conversation. There's no need for pleasantries.
"Who said it?" dikta asked back.
"Mama Mas Erik," the woman replied, shedding tears. He even deliberately bit his lower lip to suppress the sobbing sound that was about to rumble out.
"Why can he say that?" tanya Dikta returned while trying to tilt her body so that Varissa could lean comfortably on her shoulder.
"Say, Mas Erik cheated on me because I couldn't give him offspring." Varissa's voice squeaks. Both of his hands were busy squeezing his bent knees.
"That's not true. Mama Erik just said that to make you feel guilty about them. No other meaning."
"But, Ta!! The talk is still painful" Varissa complained. The tightness in his chest did not diminish. His feelings were devastated when his own mother-in-law accused him of being barren without further ado.
"If you're barren, why?"
Varissa held her head up. Staring at the face of Dikta who remained flat as usual even though the question slightly offended Varissa.
"How come you're doing that?" varissa protest.
"Wrong, am I?" Dikta looked at Varissa with both eyebrows raised. "Whether you're barren or not, that's no excuse to justify Erik's actions. After all, if he really is in love, there's no way he can hurt you like this."
Varissa. It turned out that Dikta had the same thoughts as himself.
Varissa's two hands were suddenly grabbed by the tall man. A wide smile that showed his shag teeth made Dikta's good looks increased many times. Just by looking at it, being able to make all the burden of Varissa's mind that had accumulated since morning yawned somewhere.
"Va! Erik is not good for you. The sooner you end your toxic relationship with her, the sooner you'll feel happiness."
"But, I'm afraid to be alone, Ta!"
"Hey!" Dikta straightened his back. Swiping the head of Varissa gently then cupped the woman's swollen cheeks.
"Who said you'd be alone, hm? Kan, it's me!" dikta. "I promise. I will always be by your side until anytime. And, just like before, I'll only leave if you ask me for that yourself."
Varissa's tears came back. The guilt is over again.
"I don't deserve all this from you, Ta!" lirih Varissa's.
"Why?" ask Dikta. Raised the face of Varissa so that the eyes of the woman can look into his eyes.
"Because I used to be so mean to you. I'm.., uh...,"
Varissa clenched both her hands tightly. Feeling that he had nothing to say to Dikta anymore. Because, to any extent he pushed the man to leave, Varissa herself would be hurt. Because, the feeling is getting bigger for Dikta.
"Your job is just one, Va! Finish your business with Erik and then please determine whether you will return my feelings or not! Do not discuss inappropriate and inappropriate issues. Because, if that's what you do, forever it's me who doesn't even deserve you!"
Varissa reflex raised her head. He looked at Dikta with a gaze that asked for an explanation of the sentence that the man had just uttered.
Dikta's hand slowly slipped off Varissa's cheek. The man leaned back against the wall while looking up. He laughed and looked back at Varissa.
"Do you think a boy lifted from the abject mud deserves to be with the son of the angel who helped him?" Dikta laughed while shaking. "No, Va! People will think that I'm walking. Don't know, don't even know yourself! Like a dog, he was given a bite to eat and even asked for a bowl. Kan, you're being rude!" Again he laughed.
BUKS!!
Varissa hit Dikta's arm repeatedly. His tears are flowing more and more. Meanwhile, the man was silent. Let Varissa vent all the emotions she harbored to be channeled completely.
"You're evil!" varissa said. Tired of hitting Dikta's arm that felt like a rock to him, he finally gave up. Choosing to drown his face in the arms of the man while gripping tightly the sleeves of Dikta's clothes.
"Don't cry, Va!" entertain Dikta.
"Who dares to say you're talking, huh?" varissa asked half-screaming. Dikta was even aghast and looked to the left because he felt bad for the other residents of the house.
"Don't be hard, Va!" whiskey Dikta persuaded.
BUKS!
Varissa again hit the long-haired man's arm. This time it was much harder than before.
"Never call you a dog! Then why did you say you were like that?"
BUKS!
Blow back Dikta receive.
"You know, how bad is Papa like you?" Varissa is still sobbing. Stupid time with snot that goes everywhere. Compared to the words of Mother-in-law who claimed that Varissa was barren, Varissa turned out to be much more hurt when Dikta likened himself to a dog.
"Papa is more concerned with you than me, you know! Papa is much more familiar with your favorite food than his own daughter's favorite food. To Papa, you are the most beloved boy! Never once did Papa think you were not his son. Papa even willingly stayed up late when you came home late for the sake of mastiin you are okay! And, in your name even pinned his last name. While I'm the real daughter, I have none at all. And you still consider yourself a nobody?"
Long width Varissa nagging. This man must know what he means to his father. To a Hadi Ananta, Dikta Anantavirya was his proud son. Maybe Dikta doesn't know. But Varissa knows. Whenever anyone visits their home, or when they are taken away to an event, Hadi Ananta always introduced the figure of a boy who always kept his distance and chose to sit alone as the son of his pride. The figure of his successor who will continue his business and take care of his only daughter later. It was proven by giving half the heart of their family life for Dikta to hold. Something that will determine the future of Varissa and her company later.
