Ghibran had just returned home from picking up Syifa, when he heard the news that shook his heart. Ikhbar, his brother-in-law who was visiting outside the city, had a serious car accident. His heart immediately thumped loudly at the news, his mind felt both stifled and anxious. Without a second thought, he immediately grabbed his phone and called his wife, Aisha, who was at home.
"Assalamualaikum, dear. There's bad news. Ikhbar was in a car accident, while he was on his way home" Ghibran said softly.
"What's? Really, Mas? Oh no, how's it going, Mas?" aisha asked in a surprised tone.
"I haven't heard the exact news. But I'll be going to the hospital in town soon to see it. Will you come, honey?" ask Ghibran.
"Of course, Mum! I'll get ready for clothes and we'll leave right now!" aisha.
While at home, Ghibran and Aisha quickly changed clothes and they rushed towards the city. They continued to talk to each other, seeking strength and calmness among the anxieties that filled their minds.
Syifa was in the back, asleep with the doll in her arms. Ghibran had actually heard from one of his relatives if the situation of Ikhbar was severe and concerning.
"Mas, I'm really surprised by this news. How did this happen? Where did you hear from? Poor Annisa, she must be very sad," said Aisha.
Aisha had no more feelings for the man. Right now if he was worried it was purely out of pity.
"I don't know either, honey. Maybe the streets are crowded or there are accidents around the place. We can only hope for the best now. Are you worried about Ikhbar?" ask Ghibran.
"Mas, I don't like your questions. Whoever it was, if I knew him, there would be pity when I heard the guy was in an accident" Aisha said.
Aisha looked at the husband's face. He then took a breath before continuing his words again.
"Mas, I don't have any feelings for Ikhbar anymore. My love has run out I give you," said Aisha in a soft voice in embarrassment.
"I believe you, dear," said Ghibran, wiping his wife's head.
Ghibran is actually just kidding. He believed in his wife. If Aisha still loves Ikhbar, she will try to steal the man's attention.
Arriving at the hospital, Ghibran and Aisha immediately sought information at the registration counter. They were told that Ikhbar had been taken to the emergency room. There was waiting for Annisa and the rest of the family. They sat in the waiting room with their hearts pounding, waiting for the latest news about the state of Ikhbar.
Annisa seemed to cry by hugging Mother Nur. His daughter Aqila was in his mother's arms. Aisha sat with Syifa in her arms.
Ghibran approaches Annisa. Holding the woman's shoulder. Tears kept flowing from his eyes.
"Sister, I'm not ready to lose Mas Ikhbar, yet" Annisa said stammeringly.
"Pray and believe that all God's statutes and destiny are the best" Ghibran said.
Annisa looked at the Ghibran standing beside her. His outstretched hand wanted to hug the man's waist. Aisha's husband reflexes dodged. So that Annisa's hand returned to her thigh. His face reddened in shame.
Aisha just kept quiet to see all that. He is grateful that Ghibran did not welcome the moment Annisa wanted to embrace him. The man approached his wife. Sitting beside. Aisha hugged her arm. As if to say to all that exists if only he and Syifa, who can embrace Ghibran.
The doctor came out of the room, so their current attention was only on one person. The ghibran stood up and approached the doctor.
"How's Ikhbar doing, Doc?" ask Ghibran.
"We had to perform surgery for broken and fractured leg bones. For that we need the approval of the family," said the doctor.
"Just do what's best for my brother, Doc" replied Ghibran.
"Please fill out the surgery consent form first" said the doctor again.
"Good, Doc. I'll fill it up soon. Thank ye. Excuse me first" Ghibran said.
He approached Annisa. Said if he'd all taken care of it.
"I'll go to the patient registration first. You can join me for the signature of the operation approval for Ikhbar."
"Good, Brother." That's all Annisa answered.
Ghibran then approached his wife and daughter. "Get me to the registry, honey. The bar must be operated. I want to register first."
"Yes, Mas. Come on, baby, let's go with the papi first" Aisha told the princess. Both of Ghibran's hands were hugged by his two heirs. Annisa walked behind following them without saying anything.
