Grasping the Only Temporary (Revised)

Grasping the Only Temporary (Revised)
#54

With mixed feelings, Devan comes out of Cafe Arya without saying goodbye to his boss or to Gio. By using a motor in his place of work, he drove to nowhere, without purpose. Drove the bike as he pleased, even on the streets as crowded Devan still dare to call his own. He who drives like that is driving in the racecourse.

Not thinking about other riders, the important thing is that he satisfied his anger that afternoon. Overtaking one by one vehicle that is either a motorbike or a car that he met. While his heart did not stop his heart raving and cursing. Who else if not berating himself and Daren.

Until it stopped on a long bridge that stretches along the river with the swift flow. He got off his bike, and walked up to the mast of the bridge.

He relaxes enjoying the wind so strong there, hoping his anger can fly with the wind. In that place it was so very quiet that it made Devan calmer. He piled his arms there, with his right hand holding or a photo and his other hand sipping alcohol, which he bought before coming there.

His thoughts are so complicated right now. He took a sip of the drink while looking at a photo he always took with him where he was.

'Ma, what should Devan do now. Why does it always appear in this life. When Devan really felt he did not need it anymore, why he just returned. Devan is afraid that Gio will be his target. Devan is afraid he can't take care of Gio, ma.'

Glucose.... Glucose...

Wush.....

The wind blew so hard that Devan closed his eyes. Feel the peace and coolness of the wind.

"Hey boy. No matter how big your problem is, you should avoid suicide." Said someone who approached Devan and then patted him on the shoulder.

Made Devan wake up and open his eyes.

"Heh... Do you think I'm a human with no brain? Wasting this one-time life?."

"I think so too. A child who is often death-defying like you might not want to die without this style. Ha.... Ha... Then what are you doing he?" Ask with a slanted smile and raised eyebrows next door.

"Just enjoy the cloudy atmosphere during the day. You alone?" Simple Devan

"really? I don't think someone's gonna drink if he's not in trouble. What makes you like this? A female?"

"Why do you want to know too much about Mr. George. But what you're saying is true, drinks are just escapism that can only make matters temporarily forgotten."

"Hey boy. At your age it's not good to drink too much. You're young, do you want to die young because of the drink that's gonna ruin your body, hm?" Jeda

"If love is hard to forget. But that doesn't mean you can't find another love." He looked up at the sky.

"Why do you think that? Do you really think that I drink only because of a woman?"

"of course. Moreover, look at the photo in your hand that has been so shabby. You look so washed it." Trifling while laughing.

"He. he's... You're right, Mr. George. A woman I love so much is in this picture."

"Is that so? I want to see what it looks like, to the point of making a fearless boy even fear losing him."

The ink that the state of the photo is still face down.

"No. You can't see it. My mother's picture is all I can see. This is a precious treasure I have."

"And you should know Mr. George. As cruel and clever as a man, he will only look foolish in love."

"What mother? Oh yes definitely, a boy's love for his mother is so great. Then why did you sell your bike back then?"

"I know. For the sake of someone you love you will always want to sacrifice whatever you have right now. Just like you wanted to sacrifice something for your son and wife. That's how I am."

"Oh yes I understand. Even though I don't have a wife and children."

"What's!? Haha.... You're so funny, Mr. George. At your current age it is not good if you do not have both... (Devan said while laughing). After all you're so rich there's no way you don't have both."

"Huh.... (George took a deep breath in regret) I didn't know him, until one thing I did to him at the time. Makes me really sorry I did it. Then he went where. I'm not a good person but I want to take responsibility for what I do. I looked for him, intending to apologize because the incident would even be responsible. But in fact, until now I have not found it. Maybe if she was pregnant that day, that child would be your age."

"Well... Again (Devan laughed wryly). Sometimes things like that make me ashamed to admit myself as a man. Even worse, my father did not acknowledge his two children. What's with people like you." Cynical Devan.

"Well, I know I was wrong. Even I have received the consequences of my actions to him. Until now, even seeing women did not feel interested because of him. Is this really karma? Maybe this is it. I spent the rest of my life alone without him. If only I could meet him or his son, I really wanted to make up for everything." Regretfully

"Then why didn't you get acknowledged by your father? a kid like you? I think your father should regret that."

"No, not me. Except his other two children. Then you want to redeem what? It's already happened. Better forget it and act better as a form of regret."

"Yes hahaha.. You're right, son. If I could forget, I would forget. I want to do what you say, too. You know I'm getting interested in you having this kind of thinking. You better come with me, pick up your bike and join me you'll be a great rider and make your mother happy later. Just let go of that silly apron."

Devan glanced at his clothes. As George said. He completely forgot to take off his apron.

Plaque...

He patted his head.

"God... Why can I do this stupid thing. Well okay now I have to get back to work. Thank you Mr. George for the warning and the offer. But you know that this silly apron has been my job to support my family all this time." Said Devan who was away from him.

Both are equally smiling knots because without them knowing they have been doing a venting session unexpectedly.

"But if I may say..." Devan's words hang.

"My mom is gone. So your offer I don't think I should take." He said with a forced smile of maturity.

The smile on George's lips disappeared after hearing what Devan said.

Brum... Brum...

The motor ran away.

"Hey!! Son!!! Wait!!! You dropped your valuables." George's screams that initially echoed and then turned ordinary because Devan did not seem to listen.

George took a piece of Devan's valuables that accidentally fell on him.
