Gondo Flower
Chapter 41: The sunset

Leaves of tall tree leaves waving swept by the twilight wind, the reddish sky, the flapping of flying birds, and the sound of rodents accompanying the steps of Sumi splitting the path in the middle of the lush wilderness. The pebbled road scraped his tiny legs, but he had no intention of stopping.

The feeling of was was always teasing his mind, even the sound of friction leaves made his heartbeat pump more tightly. Several times he turned his head back, making sure anyone who was chasing him could not catch up with him in the wilderness of the forest. Sumi wiped off the sweat, the cold air did not dampen her intentions even though the pain began to envelop every reddish line throughout her body.

The tiny foot treads among the wild grass as tall as an adult's calf, each footing leaving a mark of withered grass. Once in a while Sumi looked up at the twilight sky, looking up at the reddish sky, greeting the cumulus clouds that laughed at her misfortune.

Perih in his heart spread gnawing at his conscience, the clear circle can no longer he weirs, flowing profusely, wetting the skin of his reddish face. Without Sumi realizing, the small life in her womb seemed to be trying to strengthen her mother who had been on the verge of her patience.

A wooden root on the hard impact of the tiny leg, Sumi collapsed, lying on the ground in dirty clothes with a puddle of mud. There is no time to mourn any more, for a devotee, their life is long dead, all that remains is a lump of flesh without a soul that continues to do misfortune.

Just as Sumi was about to get back on her feet, still with her kneeling position, a glint of flat iron lodged right at the base of her neck. Sumi was closed, preparing for all the possibilities that would happen after, although her body trembled, her guts shrunk, but there was still hope from her own face behind the pillars of the earth's high pillar of support.

Sumi bit her lower lip to the point of spitting out fresh blood, she was afraid, especially when the sharp object began to scratch the skin of her neck, the blood flowed, further eroding the firmness of her heart.

"Where are you going!" A heavy voice sounded from a person wearing all-black clothes, he was still firmly pointing a machete towards Sumi.

Sumi was still trembling, not spitting out a word, blood was still flowing, as well as her blood flow was flowing faster than usual.

"Seng time mbok sileh wes entek!" (The time you borrowed is up!) said the figure dressed all in black, in view of his heavy voice, It is certain that the figure is a man.

"Wenehi wektu meneh mas! Kulo ngandut wenihe Wijaya." (Give me some more time! I'm pregnant with her son Wijaya!) Sumi pleaded with a quivering voice, there was a feeling of reluctance as she mentioned the name of Wijaya.

The mysterious person behind Sumi lowered his machete, he stayed for a while. The man opened the face cover, his lips turned upside down when Sumi mentioned Wijaya's name.

"The irony is mending! Koe knows Sum, asline I'm yo ora tego, but Lasmi needs proof nyoto senggo pay your vows mbiyen!" (Black blood again! You know Sum, I actually don't have the heart, but Lasmi needs real evidence to pay for your Oath first!)

Every Vijaya servant was sworn in by a blood covenant, no one could betray. If they willfully betray Vijaya, not just death in return, however, their vows will eat away at the souls they have mortgaged and ensnare them forever in the segoro gate.

Sumi screamed, roared at the squealing crows perched on dry branch rating branches, her voice echoing all over the forest , conveyed by the branch of a tree until it disappears swept by the wind that is blowing. Sumi squeezed her while enduring the creeping pain, her finger numb, blood dripping through the roots of the tree until it emptied into the moist soil.

"Mass too! Forg... " Sumi grimaced with the pain, she mercifully asked for mercy from the person.

The man holding the machete picked up the half-sunken cut of his finger in a puddle of mud, he wrapped it with the cloth he had previously used as a face cover. He did not care about Sumi's whining that her face began to pale.

Sumi tried to stand up even though blood was still dripping from the machete slash marks on her pinky finger, She looked at the man she was talking to, a face that was no stranger anymore, someone he often saw in the Wijaya family residence.

"Where are the things you took!" asked the man while keeping the package in his clothes pocket. Sumi silently locked her mouth tightly.

"We're on the same ship, you think you can still live after betraying Wijaya! Look, only your fingers are apart. If only Juhri came, surely your head was dragged to Ruwah's pedestal!" said the man firmly, his eyes looked at the woman in front of him, then gave a small cloth to hold the blood out excessively.

Sumi lowered her head regretting all her deeds, she whimpered, lamenting her fate. He did not expect, the path he took turned out to be so steep.

"Enten Nggone mbah Slamet!" (It's at Mbah Slamet's place!) Sumi said softly, her sobs are resistant. The man who heard Sumi's speech fell silent, drowning in his daydream.

"Lewong?" The man turned around, glancing at Sumi. Sumi nodded answering a question from the man before her. The man clenched his hands, his eyes round, his lips quivering as he spoke the word.

"That Slamet wes is dead" said the man. Sumi Seemed in disbelief, just a few days ago she met her, how could it possibly happen. Sumi stared intently at the man, asking for an explanation for the news she had just heard. However, the man reluctantly answered Sumi's gaze, he chose to leave, walking towards the northern direction of Sembari cleaning up the blood left in his machete.

Sumi looked at the back of the man who had started to move away, one more thing that was now breaking her heart. For many years he had known the old man, whose heart might not have been broken to hear the news of his grief that he had so avoided. His legs suddenly limp, he sits waiting for the darkness to devour him.

When the sun had sunk completely, Sumi was still there, crying sobbing accompanied by the sound of insects and a cold wind that started piercing her ribs. He is still not aware that the situation has been dark, in the darkness is not a predatory animal that is so feared by humans. However, the dark creature is ready to enslave human fear, skin his determination and patience, and replace it with greed that exceeds the cruelty of the devil himself.
