Gendis could not sleep soundly even though she had tried to close her eyes from a few hours ago.
The drizzling sound outside and the lightning that was still grabbing each other made Gendis' heart even more agitated. Yes, since this afternoon the rain fell without stopping making Gendis choose to lock herself up after preparing dinner.
It turns out that stating that parting after marriage is not easy, but surviving an always painful situation is also very difficult. Moreover, a little bit of him was already comfortable with Bram.
His hand grabbed the phone that was on the nightstand. A few calls from Bram made Gendis sigh weakly. He was really tired of thinking about his life and heart. Because, there's no way he keeps troubling Om Rendra his only relative when there's a problem. Moreover, he knew Om Rendra was having a lot of trouble.
'Ndis, open the door!'
'Ndis, I want to talk.'
'Ndis, you haven't slept, have you?'
'Ndis....
Some messages were sent by Bram on Gendis's phone. The girl deliberately set her phone in silent mode, so she did not know if the man had sent a message or called her.
In fact, she also knew that Bram had banged on the door several times, but an uneasy heart made her reluctant to meet the man. Therefore, Gendis chose to leave it alone.
It had been a few days, since the painful incident for Gendis, the two rarely spoke as usual. Gendis and Bram like late with their respective busyness and Bram often go home at night like today.
But Gendis kept doing his job, preparing food whether it was eaten or not and preparing Bram's needs. He's also been at the point of not caring whether Bram eats at home or not.
Several times, Gendis did have time to see the dinner menu is still intact in the morning, it means Bram has eaten outside. Whether with whom, Gendis tried not to care despite the fact that he could not lie to his own feelings.
"Bruck..."
"Bruck..."
"Brruukkk...." Gendis jumped in shock when the room door had collapsed because Bram broke into it.
Gendis immediately threw her blanket when she saw Bram stepping in. It is undeniable that when he was horrified by the gaze of Bram who looked full of anger. By squeezing both sides of her pajama pants, Gendis tried to calm her feelings.
"Why not answer the call, Mas?" bram asked as he was in front of Gendis. A voice filled with emphasis made Gendis feel confused about what to answer.
"Java!" Bram snapped until it made Gendis terjangkat shocked. His baritone voice that echoed throughout the room made Gendis even more afraid.
" What are you talking about?" gendis' voice sounded slightly trembling.
"There's nothing we need to talk about" Gendis replied still covering up her current anxiety.
"But your attitude makes me so fed up! " reply Bram with a sharp look at Gendis. The angry look that was cast on Gendis made the girl actually shrink but she tried to stand firm.
"Whose changed? Don't like playing victim...!" gendis replied, not to lose.
"You're avoiding, Mas. You're hard to talk to. Like a child." between Bram and Gendis did not have time to explain what he had in mind.
"What do you want?" Bram tried to hold back his emotions.
"We parted." chirped Gendis.
"Snake!" shouted Bram make Gendis face reddened. How many times had the man in front of him raised the voice in front of him and it sounded extremely painful.
Gendis who could no longer hold back her tears left Bram who was still pecking. The girl wanted to immediately disappear from the face of the man who made her life feel somehow.
Bram who saw Gendis insisted it finally ran and immediately locked the door first so that the girl would not come out.
"What do you want to be?"
"Talking well can't. Be determined to stop by! What do you want to be?"
"Wild women are out there!" bram's voice rose again, so far no one has denied his words.
"It's still good to be a wild woman out there. Rather than being a woman in the guise of a lecturer but the reality is willing with the husband of people!" rebut Gendis when he heard Bram's sentence that sounded like a curse.
"Snakes..."
"Plak.." a slap that floated on Gendis' cheek made an instant gripping atmosphere.
For a moment they looked at him with a very different look. Bram felt guilty while Gendis was full of disappointment.
"Nthe... Ndis..pardon me, Mas. Not intentionally!" bram said with a trembling voice, the look in his eyes began to weaken as his steps approached Gendis. The anger that had been stirring had turned into a fear of guilt for the girl who had retreated her steps several times.
Gendis indeed distanced herself from Bram, but her gaze was so piercing that Bram became panicked over it.
"Never touch me!" gendis shouted hysterically, her hands also dispelled Bram's hand that would touch his cheek.
"Ndis, no mean, Mas, hurt you."
Gendis no longer cares about Bram's explanation. The girl ran into the room although she could no longer close the room.
Bram can only sculpt. Really, his guilt made his heart feel squeezed. He just stared at the girl sitting on the edge of the bed with teary eyes.
Gendis seemed to cry as much as she could, her hair covering her entire face, so that Bram who was standing from a distance could not see her properly.
Bram POVs
I kept staring at the girl who was crying so hard on the edge of the bed. I dare not approach her because of the overwhelming guilt on that girl. I know I've been overdue.
I did not think, if my intention to reprimand him even hurt his heart. From the way he looked at me and his unrelenting sobs, it made me believe I had hurt him too deeply.
I didn't think this hand had slapped him. I just want him to stop demeaning Seruni in our troubles. But, it turned out that he included Seruni in the debate earlier.
POV Author
Gendis took photos of her parents, then laid herself down in a blanket. There was nothing he could do except just hug a photo of his parents.
The night grew late, Gendis was already curled up in the blanket even though she had not closed her eyes due to her deeply wounded heart.
"Father, Mama, Gendis longs. Supposedly, Gendis came with Papa home with Mama, so that Gendis would not be alone anymore" he muttered barely. He seemed to regret, why when the fateful incident he did not come home with his parents.
Bram could only sit on the floor staring at the girl curled up under the blanket. Right now, his guilt is not only on Gendis, but also Mr. Hastanto who would certainly be very disappointed in him.
"I'm sorry, Mas, Ndis. Mas, khilaf." muttered Bram while wiping the melt of water flowing from the corner of his eye.
Every now and then the man stared at his palm that had already slapped Gendis. I don't know what he's going to account for tonight.
