Meet with Gendis

Morning still cold until pierced to the bone, Rahayu repeatedly close her sweeter before Rahayu and Hastanto say goodbye.

After they got a deal with Gendis at breakfast, Hastanto finally gave his daughter a chance to meet with Bram. Hastanto is confident Gendis will approve the marriage he already planned if his daughter meets Bram in person. 

For Hastanto, a handsome face with a calm and charismatic attitude that emanates strongly from the figure of Bramasta will make any girl can not resist the charm of a Bramasta Dewangga. 

“Do not be naughty yes, Nduk. Hurry home! Soon you will get married and have a big responsibility. You should be able to take care of yourself.” message Rahayu then hug Gendis. Somehow she felt it was hard leaving her daughter.

“Iya, Ma. “ replied Gendis softly then glanced at her papa who was now smiling gently at her.

Given the words of Om Rendra last night, about the possibility of a second stroke attack made Gendis really scared –. He did not want anything bad to happen to his father, although he had to pretend to follow his papa plan until he ended it in a calm manner.

“Papa and mom go home first. Hurry home! Papa and Mama wait at home.” saying goodbye Hastanto while gently rubbing his daughter's head. Although his beloved girl was very stubborn but Hastanto was never able to get angry at Gendis. 

The car that Hastanto and Rahayu drove was increasingly seen away. The girl who had now stopped waving for her parents was just staring at the departure of her father and mother, while Rendra and Halisa chose to go inside .

“May Mas Bram agree with me.” muttered Gendis hoping Bram would refuse their wedding plans. Only Bramlah, the one who can end all this quietly without tearing his papa emotions apart.

If the girl with a beautiful and sweet face must be honest, actually Gendis already likes other guys. He was Abian, the older brother of Gendis who continued to study in this city as well. Since meeting Abian, Gendis has been very interested in the Indo-faced man. Ah Abian, the guy who used to always give you a ride, has made the long-haired girl desperately keep the taste all this time.

For Gendis, abstinence for him expressed his feelings first even though it was clear the guy was very attentive to him. Gendis who did not want to give up was only choosing to continue pursuing Abian by asking her father to allow himself to study at the same university as Abian. 

“Ndis, Ambar will be home in the afternoon. You can ask your sister to take you to the place of Bram.”, said Aunt Halisa approached Gendis who is now sitting on the sofa terrace behind the ancient house that has now been renovated. The beautiful woman sat next to Gendis with a plate of snacks that she had prepared this morning.

“Means, Dek Ambar didn't lecture today, Tan?” gendis asked with a sweet smile that showed her dimples.

Although Ambar was one year older than him but as the second child of his om Gendis still he called him ‘Dek’.

Ambar did go to college in his own city, but because of the distance and he actively participated in student activities, making amber choose to only cost.

“ Yes, today Ambar deliberately did not attend college and tomorrow is off. Therefore, when Auntie tells you to come, she immediately wants to go home.” said Halisa so calmly and gracefully.

“You better rest, Ndis. Later, surely Ambar also invite you to take a walk to enjoy the atmosphere in this city.” continued Halisa. He did ask Ambar to take the path of his cousin in various places that became an icon of his city.

“Alright, Tan. Gendis will look at it for a while, so you can be satisfied to enjoy this city.” replied Gendis by moving from his seat.

Bram stepped half-run with a panicked face towards the parking lot of his car. The man with a manly stature, immediately left the class that is still ongoing after getting word from his mother if Hastanto's car had a severe accident. However, their family relationships are very close, even when the family is down only Hastantolah who believes and wants to help his family, so he can still continue school.

For Bram, Hastanto still remains a figure he is reluctant and has his own place in the course of his life. Although, Hastanto's request to match his daughter with him was a little personal distraction.

The Pajero sports car drove at high speed splitting the street crowds in the middle of the afternoon.  His mother (Bu Harun) asks him to go straight to Hastanto's house. The man who had thought about the worst possible news he had gotten, was already indifferent to the promise he had arranged with Gendis this afternoon. After the class ends, they will meet.

An hour and a half drive, Bram finally began to reduce the speed of his car when passing the road to Hastanto's house. From a distance of a few meters, it has been seen hordes of people in all black clothes come out of the yard of the house in front of which there is a white flag. 

“Mari please come in, Bram. Bu Aaron is already inside with Halisa and Gendis.” Welcome Rendra when welcoming the arrival of Bram at the door.

“Iya, Om. Mother who told me to come straight here.” Bram replied with a gaze that fell on his mother who was sitting with Aunt Halisa and the girl who just stared blankly ahead. 

Bram was sure it must be the one named Gendis. Yes, the girl who was supposed to meet him later looked so devastated. There was no giggling laughter and tongue-stretching that provoked one's emotions like the one he had ever seen. But, the girl now looked helpless with a pale face and puffy eyes. 

The atmosphere of the house does feel calm even quiet like a funeral home. All the mourners had gone home and only one, two friends from Hastanto and Rahayu had come. Only a few neighbors still choose to stay to help prepare for tahlil event later tonight.

“He's better than before. Gendis had fainted several times before papa and his mother were buried.” explained Rendra when he saw Bram's gaze that did not switch from Gendis.

“I can understand, Om. “ replied Bram who does not talk much. But, he could understand the feeling of Gendis instantly losing two very meaningful people at once. 

“Can you stay here for three or up to seven days Mas Tanto and Mbak Ayu, Bram?” Rendra's sentence is not only a question but also a request that makes Bram unable to refuse. The stern man could only answer with a nod. She was sure her mother would ask her that.

For a moment the atmosphere became silent. The agony of Hastanto and Rahayu leaves deep sorrow for those closest to him. They did not expect Hastanto and Rahayu to leave them this soon. 

“Ndis... Dulcet. Wake up, Nduk!” Halisa's loud call made the two men who were still sitting on the front sofa immediately turn their heads. With panic Rendra and Bram immediately went to Halisa who continued to pat softly on the cheek of the girl who was leaning weakly on the wall with her eyes closed. Gendis fainted again.

“Turn to room only!” edah Rendra no less panicked when he saw Bram was already near Gendis and his mother and will lift the body Gendis.

Carrying the weakly drooping Gendis, Bram followed Rendra who had opened the door. Meanwhile, Halisa and Bu Harun followed Ambar and Fitri (cousin of Gendis).
