"Henry, are you okay?" Beverly glanced at Henry who was driving beside her.
"Hey, stingy guy?" Beverly called back because Henry just kept quiet.
"Here you go, why are you upset like this? Shouldn't you be grateful you haven't dated that woman? What if you've already been dating her?"
"really right? If you've been dating her maybe she's cheating on you, "Beverly still keeps talking even though Henry doesn't respond to everything he says.
Inwardly, Henry confirmed Beverly's words. Fortunately, he had not yet courted Vienna. If he had been dating her, Henry would have been more hurt.
"Where are we going?" Beverly asked as the car continued to drive through the streets of Ottawa.
"Let's go to a tourist destination in this city!" Henry finally spoke while continuing to drive his car.
"alright. I don't know where I'm going today anyway. You must have known and paved the streets of this city. And one more thing, I can skimp. With you delivered, I don't have to pay for a cab."
"I've never met a girl as honest and as chatty as you, '" Henry laughed. It was as if he had forgotten something that hurt him.
"I am like this. It's better to be yourself than someone else, right?"
"You mean?"
"I used to take great care of my image and can't be who I really am. If now I don't care how my image is in front of others."
"You're right. Be yourself even if you're so annoying!"
"What are you saying on the basis that I'm a bitch?" Beverly stared intently at Henry who was driving.
"When I drove you to York City, you wiped your snot with my shirt. Then, you told me to help you get close to my sister and once you got home, you didn't thank me."
"You're! Who's wrong in your car with no tissue? I told you to bring your sister closer to me because at that time I just couldn't accept. But I try to accept everything that has happened. Why pursue someone who does not love me? And I don't thank you because I was really upset at that."
"Alright, I accept your excuse" Henry said.
"Who would you like to accept my excuses?"
"You really are a shitty girl!"
Before long, Henry's car arrived at a canal that is one of the mainstay tourist destinations in Ottawa, Canada. The canal is also a UNESCO world heritage site.
"Come on! You should enjoy the view here!" Henry released the safety belt that coiled around his body.
"It's so beautiful!" Beverly was amazed when she saw the view of the Rideau Canal.
"Winter will be more beautiful. In winter, this area became the largest ice skating in the world," Henry noticed the blue of the canal water in front of him.
"You want to get on a boat?" Henry glanced at Beverly who was standing beside him.
"I don't want to" Beverly refused.
"Why?"
"I'm afraid of falling" Beverly laughed.
"Then let's walk to Carleton!"
"Come on!" Beverly immediately followed Henry's steps.
Henry and Beverly walked down the road to Carleton in silence. Their minds are busy with their own thoughts. Beverly and Henry walked back down the canal.
"Are you okay?" Beverly asked as they were sitting on a chair near the bridge.
"No. I'm used to it," Henry's gaze was far-flung.
"You mean?" Beverly seemed to not understand.
"Somehow I've always failed in love matters" Henry laughed. Actually laughing at himself.
"You know? I was in a relationship with a girl for 5 years. But he suddenly accepted someone else's proposal."
"I don't know for sure. He just said if he's still in love with his first love."
"That means your ex-boyfriend betrayed you. Try to think! Why would she suddenly accept someone else's proposal if she wasn't in a relationship with him?" Beverly gave her analysis.
"You sure you are?" Henry frowned.
"Of course."
"I'm a loser. My love affair has never been smooth" Henry laughed again.
"Means we're the same."
"You mean?"
"Yes, I don't have a smooth romance either. I don't know why if I like a guy, I always clap one hand. The first one is Kai."
"Wait, you mean Kai owns the real estate?" Henry was shocked.
"Yes. We used to be dating but only for a few months. Turns out he just made me a bet and wanted to humiliate me at prom night. I was so stupid back then. I don't listen to my own friends. And finally, it was my best friend who was married to Kai," Beverly smiled bitterly.
"You mean Alula? Alula was loved by my sister?" Henry looked surprised for the second time.
"Yes. They get married because Kai helps Alula who gets harassed by her ex-boyfriend. Somehow photos of Alula and Kai leaked on the internet as if they were sleeping together" Beverly explained. His gaze watched the people who were cycling around the canal.
"So, Alula's a woman like that?"
"No. She's a good woman. Even when High School, Alula and Kai are a pair of enemies who never get along. I heard their marriage will only last seven months, but Kai seems to love Alula and will not divorce her. Sometimes I feel guilty for her, for not hearing when Alula learned of Kai's plan to humiliate me," Beverly's face turned sad.
"Why don't you come to him and apologize now?"
"I don't know. I was just embarrassed to see him after what had happened and I did to him."
"From what I know from my sister, Alula is a good girl. What's wrong with you apologizing to her? It will take the burden off your heart a little" Henry gave a suggestion.
"I'll try it later," Beverly smiled.
"And the second. My love clapped one hand back when I liked your sister. And again my best friend who accompanied him," continued Beverly.
"Hey, why is your romance more depressing than mine?" Cetus Henry's.
"Who said? You're as pathetic as I am, too" Beverly grumbled.
"Haha. I'm kidding. May you find a man who really wants and loves you" Henry stroked Beverly's hair. Beverly gasped as Henry's hand rubbed her hair.
"Are you praying for me sincerely or not?" Beverly narrowed her eyes.
"of course. I wish you had your soul mate. You're not as bad as I thought you were" Henry lowered his hand.
"So you've been thinking about me all this time? You like me, don't you?" Beverly poking Henry's cheeks.
"Of course not. Why would I think of such a shitty girl like you" Henry denied.
"You must have fallen in love with me? Aye right?" Beverly still continues to tease Henry.
"No. I can't possibly like a girl like you" Henry stood up from his seat.
"Let's go home!" Henry started walking towards the parking lot.
"Hey, wait! Why did you switch my conversation? You like me, don't you?" Beverly pursues Henry's steps.
"No."
"I'm sure you like me."
"Dream!"
