A few moments the two kept staring.
Kevin continued to look at Naya's face for an answer, while Naya was no longer able to hold back her tears, circle after circle came out by itself.
Naya turns her face away, but Kevin pulls her hand back.
"Tell me everything. What's really going on" Kevin's voice softened, not as loud as it was.
Naya looked back at Kevin then nodded slowly.
Kevin finally let go of his hand.
Naya wiped her tears.
"How is Yumna?" he continued to wipe away the remains of tears on his cheeks
Speaking of Yumna, Kevin exhaled roughly, he leaned his body on the back of the chair as well with a blank look forward.
"She kept crying asking you," she replied then quietly.
Naya's heart crumbled instantly, her eyes closed in order to hold back so that no more tears would come out of it.
Naya never expected that she and her daughter would part ways in this tragic way, even though Yumna was not her biological daughter, but Naya had regarded Yumna as a child born from her own womb, he loved Yumna so much that when the two had to separate suddenly and in this way, they were tormented.
The two continued to be silent, the momentary silence was replaced by the boisterous sound of rain falling heavily between the darkening sky.
"I can't take a child from her mother" Naya said, breaking the silence between the two.
"If it wasn't her own mother who intentionally left her child to me."
Kevin immediately glanced at Naya beside him.
"It was six months when Kayla left Yumna who still needed her."
"Why did he go and where?" Kevin curious.
Naya sighed.
"I don't know," replied Naya softly as she lowered her head.
Kevin was stunned for a moment.
"Why did he suddenly come back and say you kidnapped his son?" ask again.
Naya shook her head immediately.
"I don't know either."
"Why are you silent and not telling the truth in front of my parents?"
Naya lowered her head sadly.
"Because I knew if I did that, he wouldn't be accepted by your family by Yumna either."
"Well, after all, he should be the one there, not me. Let's just say that what I've done is a form of repayment for both parents who raised me like their own child after my parents' death."
Kevin was stunned again. For some reason she believed all Naya's words, she felt that Naya had told her everything honestly.
"Is that enough?" Naya saw Kevin.
"What are you going to do now?" Kevin asked back.
Naya took a deep breath.
"I have to move on with my life, right?"
"Without Yumna?"
Naya. Nodding.
"I'm sure if Yumna will be okay with you guys, that's enough for me."
"But Yumna can't live without you."
"She can do it, there's her real mother, and your grandparents are her father. He'll live happily from now on."
"Then our wedding?"
Naya flinched, she immediately saw Kevin.
"Of course it ends."
"What if I don't want to." Kevin leaned his body back on the chair casually
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not going to divorce you just like that." Kevin returned to his car.
***
"I don't want to live here." Naya circulated her gaze to all corners of the apartment which was quite luxurious according to her.
"You have no choice." Kevin keeps Naya's suitcase near the sofa.
"No. I don't want to live here." Naya walks up to Kevin to pick up his suitcase.
"Then I'll take care of our divorce." Naya saw Kevin.
"Whatever!"
"So let me get out of here and get on with my own life."
"Please. But later after the judge knocks on our divorce hammer."
Naya saw Kevin astonished.
"What do you really want now?"
"Let's stay here as long as I clean up the problems at home."
"I can't. I don't want to trouble you. I don't want to deal with your family anymore either. I just want to start my own new life."
"With that man?"
Naya saw Kevin.
"With anyone it's up to me."
Kevin smiled at his cold smile.
"It won't be that easy."
"You can't just walk away after causing havoc in my family. Stay here or I'll report you to the police for kidnapping a child" Kevin threatened.
Naya was shocked.
"You can choose, it's better to stay here or continue your new life in prison." Kevin walked closer to the door leaving Naya who was staring at the threat from him.
***
Yumna looked at Kayla with a gaze full of anger, which she knew if this mature woman before her was the cause of her mother leaving her.
"Honey. It's my dear mama, it's Yumna's birth mama." Kayla kept trying to persuade her that her daughter would be held by her.
Yumna just turned her face away while hugging her beloved doll.
"Then Yumna was just like Grandma, would you?" it was Yanti's turn to persuade the grandchild.
Yumna also shook her head immediately, she remembered how her grandmother scolded her and told her mother to leave.
Kayla and Yanti looked at each other, they seemed overwhelmed to persuade Yumna.
Yumna suddenly laid her body down while covering her head with a blanket.
Yanti and Kayla looked at each other again and decided to leave Yumna who seemed to want to be alone.
Knowing the two had left, Yumna immediately lifted the blanket on her head, while hugging her beloved doll, she again cried while calling her mother softly.
"Mother. Mother where to."
"Yumna wants to come with me."
Yumna continued to cry on her own, her tears continuing to pour out to wet the pillow underneath.
Not long heard the door opened, Yumna immediately saw if Kevin walked up to her.
"Dad..." Yumna rushed straight into his father's arms.
Kevin immediately kissed, hugged and stroked the hair of the nephew who had been considered like his own son.
Yumna came back crying asking her mother.
"Why didn't you come home and take your mom?" he raised his head to look at Kevin.
Kevin was silent.
"Where's dad going?"
"Yumna wants to be with mother, Yumna wants to come with mother. Please get Yumna to go to my mother's place." Yumna whining.
Kevin finally nodded.
"Yes, I'll take Yumna to my mother."
"really?"
Kevin nodded back.
Yumna hugged her father happily.
A few moments later.
Yumna had fallen asleep, yet Kevin was still faithfully sitting beside her, looking at her fixedly.
At a very young age, Yumna is forced to feel the sadness of parting with a loved one. It will not be easy for this small child to accept a breakup with someone who has been loving and very dear to him.
Kevin knows that for Yumna, Naya the mother is everything, because only from her can Yumna grow and get an abundance of sincere affection without strings attached all this time, it is only natural that Yumna would not be willing to part with her mother, even though she is currently surrounded by many people who also love her.
