A shrill voice ripped through the sky, a bolt of lightning chasing me and Subject 893 running while carrying a dying werewolf. All my life, only this time did fear take hold of me when the sky was dark. Every beat of my heart stifles my chest, my heart constantly yelling.
What are you doing Chrysant? Why are you looking for a witch as strong as Khanza? Crazy jerk.
But, seeing the abomination Khanza committed, I cannot remain silent. Yes, maybe Subject 893 just got to know each other, but they're probably just like Chrysant was.
“If this continues, Khanza will come after us. Someone has to distract him,” said Chrysant who activated the magic shield in my calf,
“Oi guy, you just focus on running, understand?” chrysant Order.
“T-Wait a minute, you want to fight that monster? Crazy are you? Vandal, our greatest fighter just got battered like this, you could die Subject 3! The monster's after Malice's kids, including you!” snapped Albert.
Malice's son, just this time I heard the name. A very familiar name in my ears.
Chrysant shook his head, “A Pathfinder doesn't die easily,” said I who saw meat begin to grow around Vandal's chest. Hmm it seems to be true to my estimation, a werewolf has an incredible regeneration ability like me.
I also headed to the tall building. With wind magic, Chrysant stepped up the rust-filled wall, while Subject 893, despite disagreeing, finally relented and left me.
“You want to block me, hmmm?” said Khanza who suddenly appeared on Chrysant's side.
Shocked at me, the reflex kicked Khanza, but only the shadow of darkness that he kicked. Lost balance, I immediately stuck a dagger on the wall and hung there. My Matan was busy glancing right and left, looking for where Khanza had gone.
“Hmm, hmm, hmm, when was the last time Khanza fought Pathfinder, huh? It will be interesting,” said Khanza who sat on the edge of the window beside Chrysant.
“Thunderbolt!” chrysant shouted out a lightning bullet that shot towards Khanza, but the witch easily brushed him off.
“But Khanza may be too strong for Chrysant. Ah, how about this? If you can last five minutes, then you win and Khanza will take his prey off today. Interesting offer, right? How?” tawar Khanza's.
Shit, I can imagine the arrogant smile behind that skull mask, underestimating me. I also jumped down and aimed at Khanza with a light arrow, “That's more than enough.”
Khanza laughed so hard, the magic energy so fierce in his body now he released. W-Crazy! A terrible blow of air shook the city, even bringing down some already frail buildings. So great was the magic power of the witch that it almost made me completely depressed by her!
With fiery red eyes, Khanza stood up and stretched out his hand gracefully,
“Let's dance, Chrysant,” he said which disappeared just before Chrysant's arrow touched it.
Landing smoothly in the spacious parking lot, Chrysant's eyes were now staring lurking at the witch who was present fifty meters in front of me. I am not a Knight who is good at direct confrontation with enemies, so I did not rush to attack.
Khanza has diamonds covering his hands and feet, it's impossible for my dagger to penetrate that defense. After all, I clearly remember the witch with one hand holding the pounding of Judgment without any burden, in other words the physical fight I obviously had to avoid. But I never thought too, the magic energy from Khanza's body burst forth like a fierce wave.
Five minutes.I doubt I can last that long!
“If Chrysant does not start, then Khanza first,” said the witch who darted closer to me. With two ice daggers in his hand, Khanza attacked me with two daggers, following exactly the way I fought. He mocked.
But every single one of Khanza's strikes, made my whole bones scream in fear. A small crack emerged from my blade as it brushed off the attack. Jesus, if this blow continues, my son will break.
But Khanza's fighting technique was extremely crude. Obviously Khanza is not proficient in martial arts. Utilizing that, when Khanza launched a powerful stab, I dodged and immediately caught Khanza's hand, then slammed him on the ground with the apes. As fast as lightning I threw six crystals in the six directions and flicked my fingers,
“Activate: Shield Trimegistus!” chrysant yelled and then jumped before being trapped with Khanza in a thick magic protector.
When he was confined, Khanza actually looked amazed, “Hahahaha! Black Company and its fascinating magic toys. Automachina, if not one of the Hunters of the expedition team was also very happy to play with Automachina” he said who then called out to the black ice pillars that hit the magic protector ferociously.
“Hunter.. K-You, D-Dagger—“.
“So, your goal came here to save that expedition team huh? Aaaah, Khanza is disappointed. I thought Chyrsant came here because he missed me, but it's a pity Chrysant..” said Khanza who fixed the jaw of his mask and showed me the cynical palign smile I'd seen,
“They've been a delicious snack for Khanza.”
….!!
J-Don't Chrysant, don't be lured by it. If emotions take hold of me, Khanza will take advantage of that gap and kill me. I need to focus.
Like calm water, my mind could clearly see the problem I was facing. Especially the key to my victory. Hmm, from the way Khanza spoke, he seemed less familiar with the Automachina I used. A crack I could exploit before my magic protector broke. As fast as lightning I was busy casting magic mirrors around the parking lot, forming a complex layered hexagonal pattern. I wish my trap could buy five minutes.
However, when it was almost finished setting up my trap, Khanza had already released himself easily.
“Three minutes more, hahahah!” khanza opened his hand and brought up the black ice. Small, but in it is contained magic that is so powerful.
“Within, little bird,” said Khanza threw the ice at Chrysant, followed by a giant ice crystal explosion that hit me.
But the nightmare doesn't end there. A red magic circle appeared from within the giant crystal, expanding and chasing after Chrysant.
“Sensor.?” muttered surprised. Half-dead I tried to dodge the magic sensor, but he still touched the tip of my foot. And a moment after—
BOOM!!!
“Ahh, Chrysant, you are pretty well yes,” muttered Khanza clapping her hands mocking me.
Chrysant stood up from the center of the explosion. Wanting myself to cry, enduring the pain of the black ice that stuck my left leg. My magic protector is history, broken in my black uniform torn here and there. Shit... how could Chrysant be this reckless?
“Bonus time! Since you can survive, then allow Khanza to give you one minute free,” said Khanza who was amazed to see me still want to fight in such terrible conditions.
Khanza rattled his waist and asked, “Chrysant, why are you helping the Malice children? Wouldn't if they lived, they would only be rejected by the world and suffer later? Death... is the sweetest gift for them.”
Chrysant pulled out a piece of ice at my foot and replied, “I see someone who needs help, then Chrysant will help him. Trouble?"
Khanza grunts amusedly, “Trouble? Lots! A Black Company pawn like you really thought of helping them? Of course, playing the role of a hero elevates you. They will thank you and praise you, making you feel more than them,” he said who prepared black ice again in his hands,
“But to be honest, really, people like you just look down on them, don't you? Chosen people like you will never understand the feelings of discarded people like them!” he continued to look upset.
“Successfully,” replied Chrysant indifferently. Living one eye and insulted, Chrysant since childhood has learned to bodo strongly against people's opinions. After all, I also felt a sense of rejection but in the end there were good people who would help me.
The future isn't as bad in the mind of that mad witch.
One by one Khanza attacks managed to avoid Chrysant. Though deadly, the motive for the attack was made even simpler by Khanza's anger. Chrysant easily predicted the direction of his attack and installed his final magic mirror, while continuing to evade the ice bomb sensors scattered in the parking lot.
Chrysant raised his hand and at the same time it rose a hundred light mirrors that formed the corner of a gigantic magic diagram.
“Activate: Chrysanthemum Garden!” I said activate the original magic technique I created. Magic that proves I deserve to be a Pathfinder.
Suddenly Khanza shot at high speed, ready to slash Chrysant with his sword spear, “Mirror like this does not work for Khanza's eyes!” his yell.
But instead Chrysant smiled grinningly, “We'll see, the old Witch who is less updated,” said I who stepped into the mirror and disappeared.
In vain slashed Khanza, because only the cymrin he slashed. Destroyed for a moment, balls of light reassembled the mirror. Khanza laughed, realizing that he was trapped.
“Members of the expedition also have a lot of strange equipment, but they do not use it as agile as you,” comments Khanza amazed while looking for Chrysant from the hundred mirrors of light.
THE BZZTT!
Lightning arrows hit Khanza's body. Not just one but many times until the witch seemed annoyed. They emerged from those magic mirrors, the longer it got faster and stronger. Like an agile hunter, Chrysant jumped from one mirror to another dodging Khanza's indiscriminate attack.
“You killed a member of that expedition?” chrysant asked to throw a magic grenade at Khanza before jumping into the other mirror. But Khanza easily brushed off the huge explosion and stuck his wand into the ground, calling out the roots of the tree that was running after Chrysant.
“It's a shame, not Khanza who ended them. When they met, the group of fools became Malice. There's no choice but to eat Khanza, right?”
Eat the Malice? Hold still. It's just my gut feeling, but is it possible that Khanza is a Malice Aberrant who eats her fellow men to be strong? If he has such complex thinking skills, doesn't that mean... Khanza is a Malice type S?
Only one thing left Chrysant confused. Why did Liam know about Khanza's whereabouts, leaving Malice unrecorded in the Black Company's logbook? He is an S-type Malice who should be hunted no matter what!
“Khanza, who are you exactly?” chrysant asked with his hundredth lightning arrow, dodging the fierce tree roots.
“Why should I answer your question?” khanza said that managed to capture Chrysant, but it turned out that the figure was just a cheesy illusion trick.
Seeing the opportunity, Chrysant appeared behind Khanza and kicked his leg. When the witch lost balance, I grabbed her face and slammed Khanza on the ground. Immediately I set foot on Malice's chest and aimed an arrow at her,
“It's been. five minutes,” I said gasping for breath.
Like an electric shock radiating through my entire body, my magic circuit had exceeded its limits. Heat and pain controlled my body, along with the blood vapors that emerged from the sidelines of my skin. Simultaneously, the entire magic glass was smashed into glittering wind dust. It seems. Using the Chrysanthemum Garden has pushed me to the threshold.
“I win. Keep your promise, Khanza,” Chrysant said.
Khanza laughed and put down his wand, “Hahahahahah! Who would have thought that I, The Reaper, could be defeated by a fake doll like you?” Khanza.
T-T-The Reaper?!
Darkness engulfs Khanza, releasing him from the clutches of Chrysant. Then looking completely untouched, Khanza appeared in front of me shuffling his waist next door.
After casting that much magic, Khanza did not seem tired at all. Though he had received a hundred lightning arrows many times! Falling I can't believe how powerful Malice is. He was The Reaper, the former Malice with her own hands throwing Junon into the Underworld and slaughtering hundreds of Pathfinders with ease.
Taking off his skull mask, Khanza smiled at me. But he didn't understand the horror he was showing me. I looked like I was looking at a reflection of myself, but with long purple hair being unraveled by the wind.
“Help because there are people who need help. Isn't that a too utopian stance? In the end, a weak fake doll like you will only hurt the people you want to protect.”
A dark wind slowly devoured Khanza's body until he was lost without a trace. Silence soon attacked and the pressure of stifling was gone. And with him I was drowning on the ground, helplessly realizing that little Malice-Malice was slowly emerging from the shadows and approaching me.
“... Shit,” Chrysant muttered before unconsciousness.
