Pei Jin Free City, August 1647
The vast courtyard where I stood first was a fertile land. Shady trees with green foliage that beat out the beautiful jade gems lay along the clear Arisia river. But now it's all been wiped out by a super-radical blizzard seven years ago. The beauty was now overshadowed by the resplendent wall of Pei Jin city behind her.
“Ritual will begin,” my murmur who also took the ornamental sword that Lumina prepared for me. The witch nodded and ordered all the humans watching to retreat.
Time can only move forward, but it cannot return. What has been done cannot be erased by an apology. What has been destroyed cannot return to what it was. Understanding those words I began to dance under the blizzard that burned my skin.
Layer after layer of giant magic circles appeared under my feet. They assemble themselves into an elaborate clock serration, ticking repeatedly at three o'clock past three, passing and returning repeatedly. With him, I swung my sword and brought back a fight that destroyed the destiny of this world and my soul.
“Moon who wants to be the Sun, immersed in the folly of his envy. Sun blinded by her triumphant self, unable to see the gaping darkness,” I said spinning as if striking an enemy shadow that never existed, he said,
“Two stupid brothers, destined to kill each other, but can't live without each other. Their selfishness now carries the world at its end,” my murmur which then sticks the sword in the middle of the giant magic circle.
“May peace and well-being return in the world, we pray, to a God who does not exist. Meaningless prayer that then disappeared with the wind,” said I who closed my eyes and poured my blood feed the magic circle, giving it my magic power.
Red light shone from my evil eyes when I opened my eyes, “After all, I will continue to pray and hope for the blue sky that once shaded us. Listen, listen, and listen to the world, a hope that has become an obsession in my heart.
Absolute Darkness!”
An earthquake also appeared to tear the land where I stood. From the shaking of the earth, the roots of darkness were slashed into a giant tree of darkness that supported the sky from the blizzard. Roses of blood bloomed on its branches with demonic eyes looking at me smiling.
The monstrous tree brought fear to those who stared at it, but it was slowly frozen by the white snow. The flowers fall out before fruiting, return to the soil and water and stain them blood red. A white crystal tree was born, mesmerizing the eyes with its false bright beauty.
The seventh Yggdrasil I created to protect my Clariyastra district from the dangers of superadical snow.
“W-Wow, so, like that the Yggdrasil Tree was born,” said one resident after another who ran up to the new crystal tree.
"It's so pretty!" praise everyone.
I called out a black robe covering my magic circuit that was spouting blood. Of course, I don't want my people to see the leader severely injured after that dangerous ritual, do you? I want them to think of it as a miracle of a goddess, rather than a human struggle against destiny. Miracles are more easily accepted by reason than hard work.
“Lumina, make me tea yes,” said I who threw the rest of the ornament sword at my assistant.
“T-T-Wait first Princess, are you okay?” asked Lumina who was chasing me.
“He? Why are you so worried?” I laugh amusedly, “I am the White Witch, one of the seven strongest witches in the world. Rituals like this are trivial to me.”
I am immortal too.
Lumina took my hand and opened her robe. It was a shock that even his eyes that saw my wounds were exactly like those affected by the Nyght Plague.
A lot of questions popped into his head, but he just shook his head and said, “Princess, let me treat your wounds.”
“Loh, you don't want to turn me into a zombie again?”
“Iya, that's later. But right now, I don't want my beautiful doll candidates full of scars,” said an irritated Lumina and patted me hard.
“Well, did Puella Dragonica come to see a simple witch like me?” ask me in a mocking tone.
Quina who looked more mature than seven years ago saw the tree I created. He ruffled his waist and said,
“Aweful at once terrible. Your magic never changes, Clair. Just like those humans, seem weak and helpless, but if given the chance.
I can feel Lumina's annoyance hearing that. He fixedly looked at Quina sharply and said,
“Mr Princess won't hurt anyone.”
Quina laughed sillyly, “Waduh, just a word I said, but you look like you want to kill me,” said the fox woman who immediately disappeared like lightning.
Panicking, I immediately pushed Lumina away from Quina's deadly lightning spear slash, but I didn't have time to avoid it myself. The thunderbolt broke my magic protector and burned my skin. Seeing her Quina arrogantly played her spear and looked at me lowly.
“Tak able to avoid such a simple attack, hahaha. You changed, Clair,” said Quina who pulled out her spear dagger around my neck and stuck me with a deep killing intent,
“You're weak.”
The Hwarang policemen immediately surrounded the angry citizens, charging at them with terrifying magic pistols. They were not only angry that Quina had hurt me, but rather at what that woman had done in the world.
Quina is the unifier of the Erites Union who fought a battle against Kinje seven years ago. The Puella Dragonica that spouted the flames of war and burned all the glory and civilization of mankind in just one year.
Suddenly from my shadow appeared three Lumina corpse puppets that brushed off Quina's spear. But in Puella Dragonica's eyes, the puppet's slash was only a bully insect to her. Quina's eyes shone brightly as she halted time and in an instant dismembered the corpse puppet down to its smallest particles.
“Why are you trying to protect that demon, I don't understand, doctor Oedellia. Though she is the one who made you lose everything,” said Quina who suddenly appeared behind Lumina and whispered in her ear,
“You're sure the Moon Daemon rumor created the Nyght Plague is a lie? And guess...who really caused Kinje to break in my hand?”
Lumina whipped out her magic wand and whispered, “Gran Impact.”
A shockwave pushed Quina away from him. The woman immediately jumped up and protected me, then called out twelve other undead to surround Quina. But knowing that the puppet was impossible to defeat the Puella Dragonica, Lumina only defended and did not attack.
Quina—not hurt at all—says,
“Clair, your illusion magic will soon be over. The world will see your true rot. If there is still a little conscience left in your soul, show me where you hid the Hero.
I bent my brow confused, “I don't understand what you're talking about, Quina. Don't tell me, the Queen of the great world is consumed by baseless rumors?” my challenger who also stood up and borrowed a sword from one of Lumina's puppets.
Quina shouldered her lightning spear and laughed, “You still insist on lying? Well if it's your game, I still have another way to find it. Perhaps, I will visit the boy and make him confess,” he said who called out the spark petals that slowly encircled his body, saying,
“Until when will you extend the misery of this world, Clair? As long as the Triad Megistus isn't perfect, the super radical snow won't stop,” she continued before disappearing into the sparks scattered across the sky.
I take a breath and hold my necklace. The final stage of this story is about to begin.
