Legend has it that the Hero hurled a spear of light through the heart of an evil God and threw it deep into the bowels of the world. He said, those who managed to find the spear of light will have the power that is able to conquer destiny and can realize the magnum opus of all witches in the world.

Ideal White, the perfect magic that can grant any request of the Witch.

That great power had invited countless witches towards a livelihood that ended in vain. Tens of thousands of years of trying to solve the mystery, not a single magician was able to pinpoint the location of that spear of light.

The legend was accidentally broken by a pair of twins who wanted to prove themselves.

“Month!” shouted Mentari set up a shield of light that protected me from the impact of a double-edged spear from a knight of darkness. The knight nimblely turned his spear and slashed the black eye of the spear, destroying Mentari's shield.

“Kai, Integration!” my yell that sucked Kai the wolf in my shadow then turned my finger into a diamond dagger that resisted the deadly attack.

Thrown myself on a broken pole. In front of me, before the Dark Knight played his spear smartly and smoothed it out on me, protecting the dark tree with dozens of red devil eyes growing all over the cave. Around him, swords and various other weapons were stuck on the ground, becoming the medal of victory of Sang Anima who had slaughtered his hunters.

Olivia Nightmare, the Noctis' secret keeper.

“Evil, they sent us both to defeat this Anima? Ahahaha! The Noctis family wants us both dead,” muttered me while being healed by the light magic of Mentari by my side.

“... No other option, Moon. If we want to be accepted as a Noctis, we must defeat Olivia and complete the initiation ritual,” said Mentari who summoned a sword of light in both hands,

“This is the only way that street kids like us can bear the name Noctis.”

“Not make sense. Just because the woman gave birth to the successor of the Noctis family, the bloodless child Noctis had to go through a dangerous ritual like this?” I said, clenching my hands.

“... The woman is our Mama now, Moon,” said Mentari as if trying to convince herself.

But just like me, Mentari must be aware. The one we once called Mama is gone. Just three weeks later, Mr. Noctis married an actor and made her the new Duchess Noctis. And the actor is now giving birth to the new sun Noctis and trying to kick us out of the Noctis House.

“Aarrggghhh! I'm sick of it,” I said standing up and perfecting my body's integration with Kai.

My golden hair elongated and slowly became silver. The jade eyes I had were also stained with blood red. The bones grew in both my hands and feet into a shield as well as a very powerful weapon. With him, a tremendous force flowed through my body. Although it doesn't have as great a magic as Mentari, it's the latent talent I have.

A secret that not even Mr. Noctis knows.

“Month, don't be rash—!”

Not caring about my brother's warning, I jumped up and pounced on the Knight. The flames of anger burned my soul. I ferociously launched one claw after another. Overwhelmed the dark knight while trying to follow the speed of my body attacking him from all sides. Up to a point I was able to corner the knight and jump high, releasing the powerful kick he held back with his spear.

“It's enough I received emreka crap! They think only because they have noble blood, they are better than you, brother? Damn, forever.. I won't take it!” my scream that exerted all my strength in that kick.

THE CRUTCHES! TRING!!

I broke the dark knight's spear. But far from being surprised, the knight immediately took the second handle of his spear amta and launched a surprise attack on me who was off guard.

Suddenly Mentari pushed me, rashly calling out a magic shield. But the knight slashed his black sword blade, smashing the magic shield with ease.

“No, don't!” I yelled, jumping, trying to stop Olivia.

But, Blood has been splashed on my face, when the dark knight slammed his red sword in the belly of Mentari.

Pei Jin, August 1647

“Sitting upright!” reprimand Lumina patted my back.

A-Awww, Lumina's clap erases my daydreams. A little upset, I asked, “Araraa, may I ask, who is the assistant now?”

“Hmm, what does Princess say? Talk more loudly Princess! You are the ruler of this district, show your wibawamu,” scold Lumina again.

Well, now I understand why Arthur wants to stay at my house. If I had a housemate like Lumina, of course I would run away.

But I didn't expect. I think it took a week or two before someone handed over the Matrovska suspect to me. But only three days, in front of me has gathered the pungent smell of sweat from the human crowd who flocked to hand over “Suspek Matrovska” in front of Lumina clinic.

The district youths swiftly prepared tents and chairs for me and Lumina to interrogate the suspects.

“Duuuhh, no-no-no! I am a kind of introvert who prefers to work quietly in the lab, rather than having to meet a lot of people like this,” lamented I revolted in front of a little boy who saw me in disbelief.

Lumina flicked my forehead very loudly and said, “Hayo, complaining is not a good habit. This is the Princess's own order. Do it in earnest so that I am not ashamed to be your assistant.”

“A-Araraa, how come I'm in a trap huh?”

Suddenly a boy's voice was heard in front of us.

Swiping his nose proudly, Lumina also smiled widely, “Sure dong. Kan I am a Magistrate of Magic who managed to defeat Goddess Nyghtingale once,” he said bragged.

I'm out of words for that one doctor. Giving up on my destiny, I turned my pen around and began this interrogation.

“Verrel Lebenshaft, 7 years old came to report both his parents as Matrovska,” my murmur narrowed my eyes looking at the two Verrel parents who were already grimps themselves behind.

I patted my forehead tired, “Dan just now, Mr and Mrs Lebenshaft reported her partner as Matrovska. I don't know why.. I'm like playing here.”

With an innocent smile showing his toothless tooth, Verrel replied, “Entahlah. Importantly, get one piece of gold!”

I put my face in disbelief. Oh Goddess Nyghtingale, can you pick me up now into your shade?

Lumina chuckled at my annoyance, “Kan I've already commemorated Princess. This is not an efficient way to sniff out Matrovska. Of course everyone will come handing over his kinsmen for a piece of gold. Should Princess more specific dong give command.”

Smiling wryly at me, “I was too dismissive of human intelligence and creativity,” I said who also held my cheek and asked Verrel, asking,

“Terus, why did little Verrel accuse your own two parents of being Matrovska, hmm?”

“Soalya Papa and Mama like to disappear early in the morning from home,” replied Verrel.

“Emang working Mama Papa what?” ask me to write just that in my report.

“Farm!”

Crew, I broke my pens. Yes, this morning has said! Farmers get up early to take care of their fields and gardens. Oh my god, my loving god.

“But-but, Verrel has important information for Princess Noctis,” he said who pranced vigorously in his fragile chair. At first glance my eyes saw the crack in the chair and I immediately caught the boy right when his chair was broken.

“W-Wow, Big Brother is fast. Just this time Verrel met a fast and cool witch like Big Brother!” verrel was amazed.

“Uhh... I was shocked,” my murmur scratched my neck awkwardly. My habit of keeping Arthur out as a kid seems to come to the surface when I see kids.

With friendly Lumina take a seat for Verrel, “Lain times be careful yes. If you are too excited, you like to hurt yourself. Didn't the doctor remind you?” he said that gently stroked Verrel's head.

“Hehehe, but if Verrel falls again right, doctor Oe will cure me!” reply sweet Verrel, before sitting back down.

Crazy huh, what magic is that? How can Lumina make Verrel comfortable and safe? Is that a doctor's talent?

“Certain, what information is it? I hope he's worth a piece of gold,” said I, who sat and crossed my legs.

Verrel tells him that a month before the death of his friend Gideon, he remembered that one night suddenly Gideon knocked on the window of his room. The boy said that he had just seen a black figure standing by the river and poured something there. Screaming in horror, afraid that the dark figure was a monster or a ghost, Gideon whines to stay at Verrel's house. It just so happened that both of her parents were away at work all night.

“Pouring something? He was saying what kind of thing that figure threw into the river?” I folded my hands, curious.

Verrel looked up at the ceiling and tried to remember, “Heeemm, as I recall. He said the figure threw away something that glowed red. Then-then, the whole river is full of terrible red fireflies.”

“You're sure he's not hallucinating?” many skeptics.

“Uuhh, hallucinations are yes Princess?” ask Verrel confused.

Lumina giggled and gave Verrel a piece of gold coin, “The hallucination means that one's mind is out of his control, to imagine the strange. Thank you, Verrel had the courage to tell us. This money, please order your Papa, don't be judged. Buy clothes or fix your house until it's worth it, okay?”

Verrel smiled grimacingly showing off his toothless serin, “Siap, doctor!”

After seeing Verrel leave cheerfully, Lumina ruffled her waist, “Ah, thankfully my Lord Daughter is rich. A piece of gold mah, there is no price in the eyes of Princess.”

I'm breathing, “Well sooner or later I will pour money for the construction of this district,” said I was leaning on the chair.

But Verrel's words intrigued me. The red fireflies…

“Lumi, what do you think about Verrel information?” my many.

Lumina was surprised before nodding and asking back, “. I think he's telling the truth, Princess. But, red fireflies? Bacteria that cause Nyght Plague are not red.”

“Perhaps, the fireflies are Aether. Magic compound capable of disrupting the manifestation of magic energy,” I said.

“Wait for Princess... If Aether is able to disrupt magic energy, doesn't that mean she can prevent the spread of the Nyght plague?” ask Lumina.

“... Interesting idea, Lumi. Very interesting idea,” answered me who tapped my desk.

Smart too. It was only fitting that the Nyght outbreak did not spread badly in this world, someone was interfering with the multiplication of Yggdrasil particles with that magic compound. And only one store produced that magic chemistry. Lantern Flower Shop.

... How could?
