For You This World I'll Destroy
Ruin Hunter's

—Arc II: Unwavering Faith—

The red moon illuminated the sea of fire like the eyes of a demon that saw destruction beneath it. Starlight glittered in the sky, spreading their red wings. With him the swords of fire struck the city, devouring whatever it touched.

“As long as you live.. We will win,” said a woman running carrying me. His breathing, with a pounding heart beat trying to compensate for the blood rushing from the wound on his stomach.

On the edge of the cliff, the golden-haired woman stroked my hair gently and smiled wryly, hiding myself among the rubble of the building.  Before leaving me, the woman gave me a white crystal that shone brightly before me.

“Remember .. Magic is a lie. The real enemy of the world—“ before the woman can finish her words, the sound of an explosion is heard. Pale that woman's face which then hurriedly put a magic protector on me.

“We'll meet again, Chrysant. I promise,” said the woman before the waves of fire picked her up.

Underworld, August 19, 2278

Woke myself up by a bad dream. The pain immediately hit the head until I had to take some medicinal pills to relieve it. Haah. again, that shitty past dream. Why does he always bother me when I don't remember him at all?

“Still 1 hour before the mission begins,” muttered me who also stood up and took my two sword splints. Behind the window of an abandoned skyscraper, I noticed a giant babirusa monster emerging from the underground waterway— a Kirby. The large red crystal or Magicite seemed to be behind its ribs in contrast to the darkness that enveloped its body. Looking at the Magicite, I smiled as well.

They are Malice, monsters born from the decay of the human heart. Thirsty for light, Malice attacked whatever was alive. Two centuries ago they suddenly emerged from the shadows and crept in six space cities, ravaging cities and destroying civilizations.

When the last humans prayed to the Goddess, a miracle was born. Magic crystals were present in their hands as a sign of the blessing of the Goddess, Ignition. From that crystal a great power was born into a great power that freed man from the tyranny of the Malice.

That power is magic.

“Hmm, from the size of Magicite Malice. It looks like she's Type C. Not bad for snack money,” muttered me while wearing a black uniform. Not to forget I put an eagle badge holding a light Ignition on my chest and assembled my two splints into bow arrows.

“Code Ruin Hunter, Activate Ignition,” my murmur pulled a light arrow from my bow and aimed at my prey. One arrow of my light is more than enough to finish off Malice type C.

But suddenly, I found a man jumping from a building and smashing into the monster's body with his giant hammer. The man's red Ignition Necklace lit up, revealing himself to be a hunter like me. But. his fighting style was careless.

He foolishly attacked the monster from the front, overwhelmed to avoid and fend off the monster's attack. From his reckless fighting style, it seemed like he was still a beginner. At most the level of the Chronicler, a newly appointed hunter by the Black Company.

“Hah, basic beginner.. He underestimated a Malice. Though a small mistake can end in death,” muttered me who is still aiming at the monster, “Haram actually interferes with the hunt of others, but it just so happens that my charity quota today is still not fulfilled. Thank you, beginner.”

Smiling grimacing behind the hood of his bear coat, the man shouted, “Activate Skill: Provoke!”

The male magic arm was activated, igniting the red light that made the babirusa angry. The monster also darted away wanting to butcher the beginner was crushing. But instead of fear and avoidance, the fighter actually receives the position of the babirusa. With his muscular muscles, the man threw the babirusa into the sky and exposed the monster's red crystal to my shot.

“Angel Touch,” my murmur released my lightning-like arrow pierced through the monster's steel skin, tearing the Malice heart protector in front of the hunter.

“Kiiiikkhh!” yell that monster.

Although confused as to what was happening, the man immediately took the chance. He jumped and brutally snatched the Malice Magicite with both hands. A moment apart from the Magicite from his body, Babirusa's body was lifeless on the ground and slowly shattered into dust.

Smiling at the man, he jumped up and down as if celebrating his first victory. Well, I can understand the sweetness of the first victory, but he should have run away from that place immediately. Because, the voice invites other Malice. I jumped down from my hiding place and met the newbie.

“Oi, beginner. You are stupid, right? If you want to find dead mending not here. This area is only allowed to enter Ruinminer level hunters to know,” my scold that makes the man surprised. Wanting to laugh I saw the stupid face of that blond man.

“S-S-S-Stupid, me, this great Saber?” said the man who also showed off his Magicite in front of me proudly, “Heh, look at this, even though I am still a Chronicler, but has been able to defeat a Kirby, he said, type C is two levels above me! Doesn't this show my talent as a hunter?”

I just smiled at the newbie's ego, “Yes, yes, now get out of here, before I kick your ass, boy.”

“B-B-Big, I am eighteen years old. Pure man,” he said who squinted his eyes and compared his height with mine, “Not him that boy you huh? I still haven't, hihi,” he continued.

U-Ugh.. He attacked the point *insecure-*ku\, damn it. After all, the nyebelinya\, I am still younger than Saber.

“At least, I've been in the industry longer than you,” said I showed off my badge.

“P-P-Pathfinder?! Highest level of hunters in the Black Company? The man who said he had the power of a thousand hunters in him?” saber said in disbelief.

But Saber squinted her eyes “Hrrmmm, like this imitation doang deh. There's no way a boy like you could be a Pathfinder. After all, when the promise of the hunter attended by the seven Pathfinder Black Company, nothing is as big as you.”

“U-Ugh... i-it.. because... Uuuhh—”.

Can't I say, since I'm less concerned with my height, I asked my assistant to take my place in a formal ceremony?

“Heh, you want to trick me huh? I have an IQ of 300, it is impossible to trick me with your cheap tricks,” said the boy who disrespectfully ruffled my hair, “Keep, I understand. All novice hunters would want to prove themselves before the Black Company, right? At least, you have big ambitions to become Pathfinder.”

“Tell me this is already Path—“

“My name is Saber Aivelstadt, your name is?” saber asked, extending her hand to me.

“Haaahh... Ruin Hunter,” I replied shaking that hand.

“Ruin Hunter? What a strange name. Yeah, Hunter, thank you, for helping me out. If there is no you, the great Saber legend will end today,” he said with a grim smile.

I sighed and glanced at Saber for some reason, looking at her behavior. Where have I ever seen someone so thick? … Hmm, ah, at most I feel.

In a flash, my eyes caught a giant silhuet coming out of an alley. The silence of his footsteps, not even breath was heard. But when the Rasasa took the body of the babirusa, it was clear that his teeth were sharp when he ate the Malice.

For just a second I knew, Malice was different from what I had faced before. Its body was as tall as trees that were creeping from building-to-building, with three pairs of muscular hands and terrifying claws. His mouth was torn into three, greedily devouring Kirby's body until there was nothing left.

Malice Aberrant preys on her fellows to become stronger.. The code name is Judgment, my current hunting target.

… Gawat. I smothered the boy's mouth and pulled him into hiding in the rubble of a building.

Colorful mushrooms and light-filled flowers illuminate the darkness of the city. But Malice's red eyes have lost her ability to see well. Only his sharp ears guide their way. Fortunately for that reason, Malice was not aware of me and Saber.

“Al..bert... where... are you?” murmured the Malice.

Malice can talk? Cold sweat is pouring out in my sweat. Damn, they say Judgement has the power equivalent to type B. Whereof? At least he had to be A-level and above to be able to speak!

If I had to protect this initiator, I couldn't move around. I think I should run away.

Gruwuullllwulwul!!

“M-Sorry, I haven't eaten since this morning,” muttered the boy.

… Oh my God, damn it! Why at this moment, Saber's stomach sounds anyway?!

“Hush, if you want to live, stay here and don't act,” said I came out of hiding with my daggers in my hand.

The red eyes of Judgment caught me. With his mouth wide, Malice muttered, too,

“T-T-T-The.. Re-re-reaper? H...HHHHaaa!!”

Malice's loud roar shook the forest. Along with the birds flying by the horror, hundreds of red eyes shone in the darkness. In an instant, I found myself surrounded by hundreds of bloodthirsty Malice.

… Gawat, my adrenaline is pouring.

“Saber, earlier you said this badge is just an imitation no,” I said with a big smile staring at the many money waiting to be mined, “See really, this is the strength of a Pathfinder!”
