Emotion Taster

Emotion Taster
Arc 4 New Stage: Chapter 63 - Domino's Luck

A heavy night, facing the heavy burden of the mystery of bearing life, then plus the crazy girl who attacked me night and night.

Well, I'm not really serious about saying that. In the end, today I was able to sleep soundly in Imarine's room.

"..."

All right, I lied, I didn't sleep well.

Now my eyes were staring at the ceiling, lying on my back in the room of Imarine where my body refused to rest in full.

I don't know the hours in detail in this room. The only time was in the hall. So, when I was in my room enjoying the nighttime moments where I couldn't sleep, I was just thinking about the time from the moonlight and the night mood.

Insects such as crickets, frogs, or other noisy sounds have died down. Although the sun had not yet risen, I can be sure that it was past midnight and that it was welcoming the morning.

Huft .. hah ....

Waking up bad luck in this condition will appear awkward. It would certainly raise additional questions for people who did not understand the conditions when they found me sleeping in the Imarine room. So, now I choose to get up early, sacrificing the feeling of heavy eyes and staying outside the room.

*Step, step, step ....

I walked towards the hall, passed the stairs down and encountered a vast space that tended to be empty.

"..."

Generally I would see Pero sitting on guard as the innkeeper. But, this time the table is empty, empty but in a state of light the room is on. Though, from my instinct, at least the time is not far to point at four o'clock in the morning, where Pero said he had started to keep watch again.

I looked at the time clock in the room, proving that the alleged time was in person. Then ....

Forty thirty minutes.

That's how the clock points. The system that is still in the form of a rotating circle or a non-digital clock makes me round it so.

*Prank

"Hmm?"

A loud noise was heard from the kitchen. The usual clash of aluminum objects into a work atmosphere decorates me until it reaches my ear which stands in the middle hall.

I had no other job, no Pero in the room, and it didn't seem like meeting Hanz was a bad idea either.

I walked up to the source of the sound, passed into the empty dining room, then barged into the kitchen door without knocking on the door.

*sex

"... So, you mean we can't eat now?"

"... No, it's just that the last food supply is just for today."

"... Can't it be done for the rest of the food?"

"... I'm not suggesting, no one knows if the food will be safe or not after going through the cooking process."

"..."

"..."

The two people talking to each other stopped. They were aware of the open kitchen door and continued to look at me. They were Pero and Hanz, standing in front of the partially opened food warehouse door. I didn't follow the conversation from the start and didn't see what they saw because it was blocked. So ....

"What's wrong?" ask me while walking closer towards them.

"..."

"..."

Ah .. so it's like this, yes.

*****

I didn't know it was such a bad luck. It seemed like the world was also not too cruel to put such a condition on in such a short period of time. So, let's just say, Octa is the man behind all this.

At first I was able to calm down to stay in this remote inn because at least the food supplies were quite abundant. At least looking at the amount, food can be available until the next week.

But Octa didn't allow that.

From the beginning, this inn was not made with extraordinary advanced facilities. But, its existence was luxurious enough to be called a secluded inn. Power source is provided by the generator. The object is intended primarily for temperature regulators in food warehouses. Because there is no refrigerator, the warehouse bears the function of the refrigerator as a cool place to preserve food.

Then, the problem faced now is related to the food that is destroyed.

The food warehouse still has the same level as the other rooms. Lodging made from traditional wood shades turned out to blend with the main material of the warehouse. Then, when talking to wood, then the durability that is not as strong as raw materials of stone becomes the main conversation.

The food warehouse is now penetrated by rodents, or can be called rats.

Strange enough indeed, in one night almost the entire food supply was eaten away. In fact, the arrival of rats should not plague like that, at least they will appear in high places of food sources gradually.

After all, rat infestation is higher in urban, not rural, areas. Food is much more plentiful in the city, and the countryside like this won't be a serious problem with rats.

However, we are dealing with this disorder now.

A large hole caused by a rat bite was formed in one of the warehouse rooms. Along with the sign, the room became chaotic. The packaging is broken, the food scraps scatter, and somehow a lot of dirt follows into a disgusting trail.

The sun began to rise, people began to gather in the dining room as scheduled. Then, we gradually informed him of the bad news. Their response was also shown to be between confusion, fear, and surrender simultaneously.

I asked Hanz and Farrel simultaneously about the condition of the food. But, both answered the same, food contaminated by rodents and in dirty conditions is better to be discarded.

Back to the important thing about surviving in remote places. Being healthy is a very important matter. Bringing a sick person would be a very heavy burden in front of him. So, as much as possible for us not to take that risk.

If indeed the food is discarded, of course the main problem is not resolved. How about the food supply going forward. The food that survived was very small and would run out on that day as well.

I had proposed to use the car and go down to the mountain to get food supply. If I'm the one who intervened, maybe people can believe it.

But, it turns out that it was actually formed from the beginning. The car that I remember carrying to this remote inn had been out of service from the beginning. He couldn't turn on and even the tires of his car had already been broken into a leak.

From that moment on, we started to push back. Worried about where we would die slowly at the inn. Our knowledge there is vast enough to be able to imagine a future where we kill each other for food.

But, that's just wishful thinking. The setting of the place this time was an ordinary forest where there were no monsters or zombies that caused the outside situation to become dangerous. The world we live in is more like a mystery fiction story.

Therefore, for the sake of the continuation of life, we also plan to search the forest for food independently. As long as this mystery has not been solved, only it can be done.

Huft .. hah ....

In the end I had to deal with the forest again.

After breakfast the day is finished. We also began to complete the equipment and prepare to go through the forest. At first there was the option of not bringing in many people. But, in the end going together was much safer.
