Emotion Taster

Emotion Taster
Arc 4 New Stage: Chapter 41 - Sculpted Mountain Artifacts

One day is actually a long time. When I was living in a forest area where no time changer could pull me, it turned out that twelve hours felt really long.

After filling the stomach with food until full, Farrel and I went around again looking for more supply and exploration of the environment. There we first checked the scene last night where the creature was chasing us. A large trail of trees collapsed into the main marker, I and Farrel at that time also needed to take the goods left on the edge of the river and replenish the water supply.

He thought the creature appeared again during the day. But it is just a bad shadow. I who kept wandering around still found no sign of the monster reappearing.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Yesterday Farrell and I did not meet the creature during the day. It seems, the theory of guardian mechanism at night cucup fits the condition.

Farrell and I continued to expand. Our main goal now is even quite high. With a variety of modern tools found in the supply box, we began to think that it was not impossible in the box there were firearms.

None of us had any experience with firearms. But, in this situation the gun is much more effective than having to fight using a knife and axe.

Walking towards the north, three boxes were found and they contained only similar small items such as rope, firewood, and groceries. Walking east, four boxes were found and the contents were similar to other camping equipment. Here I have even got three carry bags that are actually no longer needed. Then, we also walked a little west. There Farrell and I found only one box with shoes and other matches. In addition to the number of boxes that are getting reduced, it turns out that the contents of the supply also increasingly look useless because of the nature of duplication.

Farrell and I were there enough to go around. The sun is starting to dim, we certainly realize that night time is a thing to avoid now. So, as much as possible in this second opportunity we are not too with goa.

"Ivan," called me on the way to the cave which was still quite far away. "How do you think we're gonna finish this game?" then ask me on Farrel straight.

"If I thought, the only thing that was striking was the gorilla monster yesterday. Maybe the game maker wants us to kill the monster."

The simple thought. Instead of running, it is more efficient to overcome these problems. Although the humans I and Farrel are far from physically defeated. But, we can still win if we use our entire human potential to fight against creatures like this.

With the help of firearms, we might very easily be able to cripple him. But, because it became easy, of course Octa would not do that to us. From early morning to evening we searched the box, there was nothing better to use than knives and axes.

Such a large creature would also be difficult to overcome because its great power could knock down trees. With that horror, we've been pessimistic about defeating him with some kind of trap. It needed something stronger like a mountain ruin or deep moat in order to trap him, and secondly it was impossible for two ordinary High School students to create.

On the one hand, maybe I could have used poison to chemically cripple him. But, the poison is quite difficult to synthesize, it will take a lot of time and a lot of failure. Other options for taking venom from living creatures such as snakes, scorpions, spiders, and golden frogs are also unusable.

As Farrel said, this rain forest was very quiet from such beasts. Other than that monster, this place is very safe. In fact, it is like a well-managed nature reserve behind the house.

"I don't think killing that monster is gonna make us win."

"Yes, I also know you're going to talk about it. But, I want you to take the same responsibility as what you said. You have a better idea, don't you?" tanya Farrel guessed with a slightly ignorant tone.

"Yes, exactly. Here we are now going to find the puzzle. There's still a western edge we're not looking for, is there?"

"That we can continue tomorrow, it's too late."

"That's what you think, Farrel. But I think we should take this risk. We don't know where the time we spend forgiving exists in this world. It could be tomorrow's deadline and put us to death."

"A terrible estimate."

"Worst possibility. That timeless game will cut down on his adrenaline levels."

"Hmn ... Now I'm starting to get upset you brought the game to this problem. But, okay. Make me believe it now."

On today's trip, we weren't the only box we got. But, we have also found the fact that this forest is actually surrounded by mountains and steep cliffs that cannot be passed without tools. At the north and east end we found the same thing, and to the south were the rock cliffs that happened to be the cave where we slept last night.

In essence, this world is quite limited, Octa can be buried does not make us able to cross the border of the mountain. If north, south, and west have nothing to research anymore. The opportunity is in the east.

It's quite risky, but I still want to do it. As Farrel had said before, what was needed now was information. Supposedly, the way to solve this game already exists from the beginning, namely by solving puzzles.

"If you don't want to come, I'm fine with going alone. Although it is a bit complicated, I have memorized the way back to the south," I said a little low.

"I told you. We're both safer. There is so much I don't know about magic. Don't let you die living in this world, Ivan."

"Heh," I replied with a stern deham.

We were there to take a rounding path. Originally straight south, it now veers taking a detour to the east.

The journey lasted long enough. Seeing the travel time from the south end to the north end that takes one to two hours, of course the east direction is also not less far. The plain terrain there is a little up, making me have to walk up a little climb. Unlike the neutral south to north, the eastern end is the starting point of the water source in the direction of the upstream river.

Farrel is still in the lead, but simultaneously we are still heading east.

"..."

The eastern end was still the same, having a cliff border that prevented me from going any further, a rocky mountain side that was already like a wall. But, an amazingly shocking thing was seen by my eyes on this eastern side.

The gorilla-like monster is still here. When the sun still left its rays on the western horizon, the monster fell asleep on one side of the rocks in the east corner. Perhaps it could be said that the place at the end that he was sleeping on was his nest. However, what I see now is much more magnificent if it should be said to be a nest.

The monster was about three times my height. Then, the temple on the mountain that was carved this time had the size of a sports field, more than sixty meters to the side.

Honestly, this sculpture is included in a great work of art. The statues formed in considerable detail depict an illustration of the gods of belief from one belief. With their customary clothes, and distinctive trinkets, the wall should only be formed by painstaking human laborers.

I know there are still a lot of much larger statues. In fact, the two largest statues at the entrance alone exceeded twenty meters. It was already very high to be sculpted by a normal human. But, if I were to think that any monster with big muscular hands could make this detailed sculpture, I would prefer the great possibility of the human side making it. The proportions of the monster's body even made me think that his fingers alone could not fit into the nose

The sculpting of the mountain was not only wide, but also slightly within about ten meters for the visible part. At the end, there was certainly a monster that fell asleep, like he would not wake up for a long time. Even so, we decided not to enter the stone-carved temple for safety.

"Okay, now we're here. So, what do you want, Ivan?" tanya Farrel put a hand on the waist to relieve the energy of his establishment. "We already know this monster is here, and we should leave before he wakes up again."

On this second day, we also experienced a long journey through the forest to various sides. With a lot of energy wasted during the day, of course Farrel also did not want to risk being killed when he woke up. Moreover, our distance is now quite far from the southern end. Unlike yesterday's conditions, Farrel and I will fall before reaching the cave if the monster chases us now.

"Wait, just a second."

But there I continued to investigate. Of various factors such as place, occupants, and time, of course all this is just empty decoration is meaningless. Of the many sides of the forest that are made so normal, the magnificent east side with stone carvings must have its own meaning.

I set my eyes in the other direction. Although I did not go inside, I continued to research the inside of this stone-carved temple. And there I started to see something unique.

"Ac... tri-trident?"

Beside the monster, there is a large trident placed in the display of weapons in general. The main design is the same as the clothes hangers on the wall, but different forms are devoted to weapons.

The space inside had no illumination, it took me some time until my sight got used to it and it could tell where the weapon was. The shape is large, and this time I can understand that the trident can only be used by creatures the size of the monster. Even so, I can't imagine him wandering around with a trident. Besides not matching, I didn't see him last night with that gun.

Then, I returned my eyes to the other side.

"Hmn ... hn?" my response narrowed my eyes to sharpen the vision in the dark area. "Cranium? Ah ... corpse bone?"

Darkness and a considerable distance are still obstacles. But I'm still trying to research. In one corner of this sculpted cliff room turned out to have a foreign thing, namely human bones.

"Yes, I can also see that, Ivan," replied Farrel beside me who of course he also saw. "Is it possible that he was also the one who had been brought here?" then continue to ask.

"Huh, why do you think that's it?" tukasku asked.

"The corpse's bones hold the axe. Wasn't it our first time here with an axe?"

Kapak ...?

I looked in detail at the hand of the corpse of the bone. Then, sure enough, it turns out that in the hands of the corpse there is an axe. But ....

"Looks not. Maybe the axe is right, but from the same design the size is much different," I replied a little sigh of relief.

Our axes players have a unique design that is modern, lightweight, and even suitable for display. Meanwhile, the axe lying in the hands of the corpse of the bone is an old ax with a simple wooden handle like those used in ancient times.

"Hmn .. I don't think so either. His height alone was no longer like an ordinary human, from here, he might be close by about two meters. The strangest thing is that I don't know the shape of his head" Farrel said.

"Head shape?"

"Yes," Farrel replied firmly. "Bone of the head, skull. I've been looking around, but the corpse's head bone isn't around here."

"Is it possible that his skull was destroyed first?"

"It seems impossible. The body was in a sitting position leaning against the wall, in the kayak room of the gini temple."

"Oh, that makes sense too."

Humans have different cultures treating corpses. For him who died there, his body was not buried, sitting on the side of a luxurious room with no sign of ruins, and the condition of the other bones is still intact united. In any case, it looks exactly like a human bone. The most reasonable thing to happen is that someone beheaded the corpse—

"Hhh!?"

At that moment I gasped for my own breath, as far as thoughts and theories appeared in my head. When I reworked all the clues found in this forest, it was finally possible to be reached by my logic. At least, I'm starting to understand the riddle Octa is referring to.

"Heh," me while smiling. "It turns out it's true, we're just here as show material."
