Emotion Taster

Emotion Taster
Arc 4 New Stage: Chapter 42 - Start Starts When You're Embedded

Find out who is the master of the ecosystem. He who is in charge of guarding the Gate, he who holds the consistent, he who is replaced by his head. With him, he showed the truth in the name of the goddess who gave grace.

The first sentence is about the ruler of the ecosystem. Actually I don't understand why Octa gave that sentence. In the end, I did not find the ruler of the ecosystem within this forest. In fact, the living things that I actually found were striking only the old elephant and the big monster that looked like a gorilla.

When viewed from the place where the monster residence is so magnificent, I assume the ruler of the ecosystem there is the monster. After all, with the strength the monster possessed, he could make an entire animal submit before him. In the end, the forest is just an empty forest.

The second sentence, shows that something designated by this puzzle carries out a special task. The gatekeeper, holding consistent, and being replaced by a head, are all words in which it describes in detail.

Gatekeeper means a task, if it is said to be a job, it means there is a job vacancy. If there is a gatekeeper, it means that there is a gate guarded. This forest had nothing fancy that could be called a gate, except a carved temple on a rock cliff where the monster lived. He who sleeps there like a security guard gets many more clues.

However, one adjective is very contradictory, which is what his head replaces. In a sentence rule, being replaced means an accident and a past. I don't know how far Octa has come to understand that and shaped this puzzle. But, the clues that refer to and support my opinion are in this world.

The large-bodied human corpse bone was seen by not having a skull. He died unburied and leaned against the wall holding an axe. A headless death is very likely caused by an accident from the second party. If you see this clue, the corpse could have died because of his job guarding the gate.

The third sentence shows a dream and hope, a blessing and something that somehow sounds unreal to me. But that doesn't mean it's a useless sentence. It was very supportive of my guess after the second sentence. What Octa did was a recap of a short legend that was told to me.

If you look at the conditions in the forest along with all the factors, the legend only runs in half. Then, I'm here to help him walk intact.

"Are you sure, Ivan? You wanna take this risk?" ask Farrel who stood up before doing the farewell.

"Heh, I'm a survivor of a broken leg hand wound and a stomach stab. I won't die that easily" I replied in an arrogant tone.

"That's what you think," said Farrel who was more inclined toward capturing my neutral sentence. "From a physical point of view, I should have been better suited for the task."

"No, Farrel" I said, shaking her head. "In terms of experience, your task is the most suitable. I don't know the terrain of the forest and I don't know how to benefit the forest. If the physical aspect, we are not much different, but the friendly experience with nature, you are much better."

"Yes, that too. Can't I be more good at fishing the monster?"

"You might think that the main task is on me. But, actually the success rate is in you make the inhibitor of the monster. Everyone can be my replacement now."

"Stay still, Ivan. The main burden may be on me, but the main risk is on you."

"Okay, enough, Farrel," I said a little sternly closing the conversation. "There's no more time. If you don't want me to die, proof it's your work."

"..."

Farrell was silent to hear this. He seemed to want to carry out a heavier task on him, but at the same time he also knew that it was impossible based on the conditions. According to the plan, what I have decided is the most effective solution.

"Ivan," call Farrel once more after the pause. "There's still a choice to delay this plan until tomorrow."

"No, we can't stay here long" I replied, shaking my head. "I said today could be the last day. But, one rule is certain, in this world we can only spend seven days. Judging from the number of participants and the rules of the nature of the maker of the world, it seems that this runs out there is also still a stupid game again. Heh,"

"..."

Farrell was silent for a moment.

"Okay, if that's what I'm leaving for now."

There I turned around, leading to the sleeping monster residence, and then turned back up to look at the sun. Although there is still light in the sky, but the color has become a sign of wanting to set.

Okay, I might as well have to work as much as possible right now.

My mind as I walked began the plan.

*****

The light of the sun faded, in the sky even only remaining a blue-gray color the sign of sunset had arrived. I now stand alone again, in front of the stone temple carved by the mountain is facing directly with the monster.

Huft .. hah .. huft .. hah ....

Or, rather I was doing a light warm-up. Instead of standing up doing nothing, my body is better to keep moving small so as not to cool down. Because, I have a plan to run more than three kilometers in the rain forest with difficult terrain.

For the time being, all the preparations from me are done, I use all the abilities I have to string together many simple traps. The rest is about how I live the finishing touches.

The bag and all the heavy luggage were carried by Farrel. Now, my clothes are lighter, the leftover equipment that is on my body is just a light axe at the beginning of the game and the blade that both are hung is fused with the body. All of this for the sake of faster running ability, the agility to change movements on complicated terrain was the key to all of this. Although the instinctive power of anger detection cannot be used now. But, I hope a part of my body can remember that sensation.

Hmn ....

I looked up at the sky, the light from the sun was getting dimmer. In fact, now I can see that side of the sun is sinking. At this eastern end, the trees are slightly deforested due to lack of moisture. Then, with the high side of the mountain, setting the sun looks faster than it should.

Okay, it's time.

The beam of light begins to run out, a perpendicular line in which the rest of the sun's hemisphere continues to shift and shrink. It continued for a few seconds, until it came to a time when I could see the sun disappear from my sight.

*Wake up

"Ughhh ...!"

At the end where the stone-carved temple was located, I could see the tremors. The monster that was originally sleeping quietly without any movement suddenly gave off a great aura. His eyes opened firmly in a jolt, the noisy growl of his mouth blaring, and his body gradually entered into a standby position.

He was there to direct his gaze at me, the standing position right in front of him made him unable to dodge either. We were there staring at each other, and even knew the game was about to start.

Heh, just look, Octa. This monster I can still beat.
