Divorce Me!

Divorce Me!
Chapter 7

"Emak Sukma, the hodge is still there? I ordered two hodgepodge, wrapped, yeah! And don't be too spicy, either!" said Bu'de Romla, my neighbor who was at the end of the alley there.

"Still, ma'am, wait for Sukma to make it, for a while" Ms. Romla nodded and took a position, sitting on the long bench I had prepared for my buyers. If they want to eat at my place.

Coincidentally today, Alhamdulillah my sale is selling well. It was still early in the morning, and the clock only showed at nine, but my sales were almost over.

My hands shrewdly shake the millstone to smooth the fried beans, and mix them into a delicious hodgepodge. From the corner of my eye, I caught sight of Ms. Romla focusing on me.

Once upon a time a smile was engraved on his face. I don't know what he's thinking about me right now.

"Sukma, can I ask you something? But if you don't want to answer, you're doing nothing, son." Said Ms. Romla with a look of disdain. Maybe he was afraid that the question he would ask later, could offend me.

"Mother heard from the neighbors, you're divorced from Ali, huh? I'm sorry, I didn't want to interfere, son. Because I heard the grapevine bad news, son." Said Ms. Romla.

He seemed to be very careful in getting his words out to me. The woman who was almost the same age as my mother was a loan manager, she had several shops and confectionery stalls in the market.

He also has two boys who are arguably successful in their careers. But Miss Romla is not arrogant. He never differentiates people based on social status.

Mom Romla's youngest child married a little sister of my class in High School, a long time ago. In her name, her life is now very happy. Makes anyone who sees his life become envious, including me. If only my in-laws were as kind and gentle as Ms. Romla.

"True, ma'am," I said softly.

"Sorry, son,"

I tried to smile, "It's okay Miss Romla, maybe our soul mate got here. I resigned, Mom, God must know the best for my life and my son." My answer. I gave Ms. Romla an order, and received two pieces of ten thousand bills from her hand.

"You're patient, son. I'm sure you'll get a better man than your ex-husband. I really don't believe what your ex-in-law said.' Said Ms. Romla back. I scrunched my forehead, what did Mother Mas Ali say to Ms Romla? I'm sure it must be something bad he told me about.

"Yes, don't think about it, son. Your cooking is so good, why don't you just open a restaurant, son?" ask Ms. Romla again. It seems that he is still sitting at home in my little shop. Evidently, there have been several buyers who go back and forth, come and go from my stall, but Ms. Romla has not moved from her seat.

"Actually Sukma, I want to open a small food stall near the road, Mom. Let's add income, but how else, Ms. Romla. Sukma's savings are not enough." Honestly answered. Oh, that's the truth. To open a store would need a large capital, while I? Money from where to get it.

Miss Romla's question made me flinch. "Ah... Mother, don't joke" I replied with a crisp laugh. It is not impossible, because Ms. Romla has a lot of money. It's just that I felt I didn't deserve it. It's not good to have debt to someone else.

"Mother is not kidding Sukma, Mother is serious" Romla said. I could not help but hold back my stern and bod*h-like facial expression.

Ms. Romla pulled out my hand that was cleaning the sales desk. He told me to sit next to him.

"So gini Sukma. Mother, will have a very strategic shophouse, located not far from offices, schools and markets. So you want to open culinary that, but do not know who will manage? I remember if you cook well, and your cooking is also very good. I want to invite you to work together, how? Mothers who capitalize everything, but you who manage.

As for the result we share, you are sixty mothers forty. Why did you give me a bigger share? Because I am aware, you will certainly be busy and play an important role in the business. So how, Sukma. Are you interested in the offer, Mother?" I listened to Ms. Romla's explanation carefully.

Hearing her offer, it actually interested me enough. It's just, I can't be rash in making a decision.

"Will Sukma think about it, Mom. Sukma cannot decide for itself, whether currently Sukma already has a baby,"

"Of course, son. You should think about it carefully first. However, I hope, you agree to it!" pinta ma'am Romla is hopeful. The kind woman stood up from her seat, and handed her two pieces of red money, and endured them in my hand.

"Is this Mom? Kan, the hodgepodge already paid, just now." I refused his gift to me. Not that I don't need money, but I'd be disinclined, if I accepted it.

"Don't refuse Sukma, I didn't give this to you, but to your beautiful daughter. Use this money to buy your son's milk, your son is so adorable. About Mom's offer, don't be a burden to you! If you want to accept it, Thank God. If not, that's okay!" said Ms. Romla still forced the money into my hand, long time I did not feel good to refuse it. I received the money, then Mom Romla smiled at me.

"Mom's coming home first, yeah. The day has begun to day, it could be a hodgepodge of watery hunt if the mother talks here later." Ms. Romla came home laughing, I could only stare at her passing with mixed feelings.

There was a sense of amazement, confusion and happiness, of hearing the offer. I didn't think there was a good person who would help me realize that wish.

Thank you Yes ... God, you gave me a way. Hopefully, this is a good start, for my life, my mother and my daughter Fitri.

With a feeling of happiness, I arranged the dirty utensils I had used for sale, quickly. I want to share this good news with my mother who is babysitting Fitri inside. I'm sure you'll be very happy to hear this good news.
