Crossing the Darkness Towards Happiness

Crossing the Darkness Towards Happiness
CHAPTER 6

As Rayno lay on the bed, her breathing stable and calm, she drifted away in dreamless sleep.

The room was shrouded in a silent calmness, the silence only broken by his gentle snoring. Sunlight filtered through the curtains, emitting a warm glow on his peaceful face.

Outdoors, the Mahavir household was busy with activities. Jace and Sagara begin their journey to the office, their minds preoccupied with the upcoming meeting.

Jace's determination to balance his responsibilities as a father and a professional is evident at every step of the way.

William hurriedly left the house, his medical duties calling him to the hospital.

Her commitment to her work and her passion for helping others guide her actions and she trusts her family to take care of Rayno when she is not around

In the kitchen, Naira carefully prepared a bowl of warm porridge, She prepared a bowl of nutritious porridge, carefully choosing the ingredients known for their healing properties.

His hands moved with purpose and love, permeating each spoon with unwavering affection.

The fragrant aroma of food fills the air, offering comfort. He smiles at himself, knowing that the simple act of preparing food for Rayno is a step up to little by little get close to Rayno.

Lea returned to her office to resume her pending work. His mind was filled with thoughts about his sister, deep-rooted worries in his every action.

Lea wants Rayno's recovery, secretly hoping that every day that passes will bring her closer to Rayno.

Evan and Eros, with school bags draped over their shoulders, say goodbye to their families before embarking on a trip to their school.

The faces of Evan and Eros show a mixture of enthusiasm and worry for Rayno who is sick, the twins promise to always be there for Rayno, to always be beside Rayno so that Rayno does not feel lonely.

Returning to Rayno's room, a gentle breeze whispered through the open window, carrying a hope from the sick young man's healing.

Slowly, Rayno woke up from her sleep, her eyelids opening slowly. He blinked a few times to resist the gentle light that pierced his eyes.

A moment of confusion before his surroundings became focused. As Rayno's gaze turned around the room, she realized that she was not alone.

Naira, with a bowl of warm porridge in her hand, entered the room with a smile. His eyes sparkled affectionately as he approached Rayno's bed.

"Hello darling. How you feeling?"

Rayno's lips curved into a thin smile, gratitude shining in her eyes.

"I feel better, thank you Mother" he replied gently.

Naira gently placed a bowl of porridge on the nightstand and sat down on the edge of the bed. He reached out and removed a strand of hair from Rayno's forehead, his touch soothing and comforting.

"Eat Ray. It will help nourish your body and give you strength."

Rayno slowly sat down while leaning her shoulders on the headboard, her eyes staring at the attentive face of her stepmother.

The fragrant aroma of the warm porridge filled the air in the room, and his stomach was rumbling in response, reminding him of his body's need to eat.

With the cutting board Naira feeds her son to eat, while telling him about many things, trying to ease Rayno's mind so as not to be too burdened when sick. Then Naira touched Rayno's forehead to check her feverish state.

Naira's gentle touch on her forehead alleviated her discomfort, and Rayno felt a calm feeling sweep over her.

The spoon in her hand carried a small portion of the porridge into Rayno's mouth, Naira spoke in a soothing tone and intertwined her words with a Mother's love and care

Naira's voice was filled with gentleness as she encouraged Rayno to eat.

He took out a spoonful of warm porridge, gently blowing it to cool it down before bringing it to Rayno's lips. The affection from Naira calms Rayno's mind.

As Rayno enjoys the nourishing warmth of the porridge, Rayno finds comfort in her heart before Naira.

His unwavering support and understanding creates a safe space where Rayno can let go of her fears and doubts.

In her Mother's gentle care, Rayno finds the serenity of moments of rest amidst her inner turmoil.

As the porridge bowl was empty and the conversation gradually calmed down, Naira remained by Rayno's side, her presence being a steadfast reminder that Rayno was not alone.

Naira placed a gentle kiss on Rayno's forehead, her love for her son emanating in that simple gesture.

"Rest again now, my child" whispered Naira softly, her voice carrying a sense of tranquility.

"Know that we are here for you, supporting your recovery, and embracing you with an open heart. You're never alone on this journey."

Rayno nodded, her weariness returning as the calming effects of her Mother settled within her.

He threw himself back into the bed, his eyelids growing heavily drowsy once again.

With Mother's gentle touch clinging to her mind, she succumbs to a sleep hug, believing that she is no longer alone here.

With a final loving kiss on Rayno's forehead, Naira gets out of bed leaving her to fall back asleep peacefully.

Naira learns that healing takes time, but with love and support from their family, Naira is convinced to guide Rayno to find her way back to a light that once had faded.

The afternoon walking time has arrived. Outside the room the other family members returned, their steps muffled but their presence felt.

They go home in a hurry because they are worried about Rayno's condition, who is still sick.

The Mahavir family gathered in the living room, their expressions filled with care and worry.

Jace, Sagara, William, Lea, Evan, and Eros have all returned home as fast as they can to see Rayno's condition.

They exchanged glances, secretly communicating their hopes and fears, each desiring Rayno's recovery. Either it's a cure for his fever or for Rayno's past trauma.

Jace, as the patriarch of the family, spoke up, his tone serious.

"We must stand together as a family during her healing period. Rayno needs our love, support and understanding more than ever"

"Don't falter in our commitment to healing. Otherwise, Rayno will get further away and we'll end up losing Rayno"

Jace's words resonate with each family member, sparking a common goal.

They understand the weight of the words of the head of the family. Because they are not only as a support system for Rayno but also as a beacon of hope for Rayno to stay alive.

Naira then stepped forward, her voice filled with unwavering confidence.

"We must also create an environment where Rayno feels safe, understood and loved. We must be patient to offer our support while Rayno is still muddled in her emotions."

The children of the Mahavir family nodded in understanding. They understand that the road to Rayno's mental recovery is not as easy as imagined, they must also need empathy, compassion, and an open heart for Rayno.
