Crossing the Darkness Towards Happiness

Crossing the Darkness Towards Happiness
CHAPTER 15

The moment they arrived at the mansion, Jace turned off the car engine and turned his head towards Rayno, a worry etched on his face.

Jace glanced at Rayno sitting quietly beside him, her eyes still reflecting the remnants of his recent emotional turmoil.

Jace knows their path is still long, but she is determined to guide her son towards healing and happiness.

Rayno's gaze wandered out the window, immersed in his thoughts and memories.

She can't help but remember the moments she shared with her mother, the love she showed her, and the emptiness her Mother left in her life.

"Dad," Rayno began, her voice mingled between sadness and longing.

"Sometimes, I still miss Mama a lot. It hurts to think he's no longer with us."

Jace glanced at Rayno, his heart ached at the pain of his son. "I understand, Rayno. Your mother is an amazing woman and her love for you is immeasurable. But you also have to be sincere with his departure and you also have to be able to forgive yourself Ray"

Rayno let out a heavy sigh, her voice barely more than a whisper.

"I just wish I could have one more day with her, to tell her how much I love her and hear her voice again."

Jace reached out and grabbed Rayno's hand, squeezing it gently.

"You know Rayno, even though your mother is not physically with us, her love and presence will always be with you. He lives in your heart and in the memories you cherish."

Rayno nodded, tears streaming down her eyes once again. "I know Dad, but sometimes it doesn't feel like enough. I just wish Mama could be here to guide me through these difficult times."

Jace's tone of voice grew softer as he spoke, it was so that his son would understand with every word he had spoken.

"I want it too, my son. But you have to believe that your Mother's love has given you the strength and courage to face life's problems. Rayno, he just wants to see you happy and develop into an amazing child."

Rayno took a deep breath, feeling the slight pain that was in her chest decrease.

"I understand, Dad. Thank you for always being there for me."

Jace reached out and stroked Rayno's hair, gesturing to reassure her.

"This is my role as your father, Ray. I will always be here, guiding and supporting you."

They got out of the car and walked towards the entrance of the mansion. The familiar splendor of the plantation provides a sense of security and comfort.

As they entered the living room, Naira and the rest of the family looked up, their expressions changing from concern to worry upon seeing Rayno and Jace.

Naira rushed forward and approached Rayno, tears streaming down her face as she looked at Rayno's hand wrapped in cloth, red liquid could be seen from the cloth that Naira knew was blood.

"What's going on? Why are you like this." Naira panicked, her voice trembling at the sight of blood in her son's hands

Jace quickly entered, his voice calm yet firm. "Honey calm down, let's focus first on treating Rayno. We'll discuss what happens later."

Naira nodded, trying to calm her trembling hands. He glanced at Rayno, his eyes filled with worry and affection.

"Rayno, let's clean up and treat your hands, okay? We need to make sure your hands are taken care of."

Rayno nodded, her voice almost whispering. "Yes, Bun."

With a gentle but firm movement, Jace and Naira take Rayno to the nearest bathroom. They carefully removed the stained cloth, exposing the wound on Rayno's hand.

An incision wound on Rayno's wrist was immediately visible when the blood-stained cloth was opened.

"We'll clean it with antiseptics and then wrap it. Maybe it'll hurt, so just hold on for a second."

Rayno nodded in understanding, then Jace grabbed the antiseptic and began to clean the wound very carefully, the touch gentle yet precise.

As the stinging sensation subsided, Naira carefully wrapped Rayno's hands in a clean bandage, ensuring it was safe and protected.

Naira then looked into Rayno's eyes, her voice filled with affection. "All right, this is done. Thank you for letting us help you."

Rayno gave a small smile, very grateful for the support of her parents.

"No bun, I should be the one to thank you. I don't know what I'd do without Mom and Dad here."

Jace hugged Rayno's shoulder, her voice filled with affection.

"You don't have to thank me. We'll always be there for you, no matter what happens Daddy and Mommy will be next to you."

With Rayno's hand now wrapped properly. They returned to the living room where the rest of the family had gathered.

The concerns of the Rayno brothers were clearly visible on their faces when they saw the bandage in Rayno's hands.

Jace and Naira guide Rayno to a nearby sofa and gently help Rayno to sit down.

When Rayno was sitting immediately the others were sitting near her but also gave distance so that Rayno did not feel depressed.

Lea took a deep breath, trying to steady her trembling voice. He turned his attention to Rayno.

"Rayno, now can you tell us what happened?" Lea asked, her voice filled with a mixture of worry and tenderness.

Rayno hesitated, her gaze shifting between her parents then to her siblings. The burden from his recent memories weighed heavily on his shoulders.

But Rayno knows that she can't keep it alone anymore. She tries to muster up the courage to share her feelings with her family.

Rayno took a deep breath, her eyes filled with a mixture of pain and determination.

"I remember the trauma I tried to heal. I was overwhelmed with all the memories that suddenly filled my brain and I. I hurt myself again."

Naira's heart sank, her eyes glazed over. He reached out and took Rayno's unharmed hand, holding it tightly.

"Oh, my dear child.I'm so sorry you have to experience this again and come back to remember the incident. But please remember, that we're here for you and together we'll help you heal."

Rayno's voice trembled as she spoke, her vulnerability appearing.

"I'm trying, Bun. I want to heal, but sometimes I feel like I'm back to square one."

Jace knelt beside Rayno, her voice full of certainty and Jace looked at his son seriously.

"It's okay, Rayno. Healing is not easy, it will definitely experience ups and downs. But do you know? The most important thing is that you do not give up on healing and move on to heal your trauma"

Jace smiled and stroked Rayno's hair with tenderness and affection.

"We'll always support you every step of the way, son. You are not alone on this journey. Lean on us when you need it."

Naira and Jace embrace Rayno to give her comfort and to feel their security.
