Chapter 25. Surprise from Sarah

The hotel's sparkly ballroom is conjured in such a way that it looks amazing. It was all thanks to Edward's power and his money. Of course that was the most important part that Daniel expected.

The first time he came in, some people were already talking about him. How lucky it would be to be a wealthy business family with a sister as beautiful as Sarah. In addition, the camera beam continued to wave at him as if showing how true Daniel was.

"This is what you're waiting for, Daniel. Every camera leads to you. Not to mention how they look at us. Like someone from above!" whispered Helena.

Yes, Daniel took his mother's hand to wait for Sarah in a chair that had been provided. They arrive 10 minutes ahead of schedule.

"Mama can't wait to announce your wedding date. Oh, yeah, my engagement ring already brought. So, you don't have to worry anymore." Helena tried to calm down. Although it's not the first time Daniel is engaged, it's like a big event.

Before entering the ballroom area, the big names are Sarah Victoria and Daniel Osvaldo. Some fresh flowers with a very fragrant smell are also seen there. The atmosphere of the ballroom is also decorated like a wedding in general, even though this is just an engagement.

The guests seem to be starting to attend. Likewise with Brenda who envied seeing the splendor of the engagement. In terms of finances, Brenda is far away. However, the woman still loved Daniel with all her heart. He also hopes to have a relationship like before.

Seeing Daniel talking, he immediately approached to say hello. Especially in such a large place, Brenda did not know anyone.

"Hello, Auntie! Daniel!" greet Brenda.

"Hello, Brenda. How are you?" ask Helena kindly.

If you can choose, Daniel's decision to choose Sarah is the right action. There is no point in maintaining a relationship with an ex-sectarian like Brenda. Although she is beautiful, but about wealth, Sarah is the champion.

"A little no good, Auntie. I think the ones on this show are me and Daniel." Brenda glanced at Daniel and refocused on Helena. "I think Daniel would be more worthy of a match with the honorable Miss Sarah, than a woman like me." Brenda purposely humbled herself.

"Oh, sorry, Brenda. I deeply regret that decision, but how else? Everything was going so fast that we felt overwhelmed by all this. Sometimes we feel like dreams." Obviously, the reality of being a part of Edward Harrison is only a few minutes away.

"Just like me, Auntie. Doesn't matter. May Daniel not regret his decision!" Brenda still could not accept this reality, but she was unable to resist. His chest rumbled violently as if he wanted to cry.

However, at the last minute that should be his prospective fiancee came, not yet seen at all its existence. Daniel was worried. There was no way Edward would deliberately buy time just to surprise her.

"Why haven't they come yet?" ask Daniel.

"Patience, Daniel. Maybe in a minute." Helena tried to calm down.

While Brenda hopes that the woman never comes. Whatever will happen, she hopes this engagement fails. Why so? Brenda doesn't want a loved one to belong to someone else. It's hard to hold out so far just to get legal status as Daniel Osvaldo's wife. It doesn't matter if he's a CEO who hasn't been as famous as Edward, but Daniel is a nice guy.

As if understanding the situation, apparently one of the hotel officials told Edward that he was a little late. There's some sudden business. The information was not just nonsense, but one of Edward's confidants who conveyed it to him.

"Sorry, Mr. Daniel. Mr. Edward is a little late. Wait about 10 or 20 minutes. I hope you're patient because this happy day is coming."

Some of the invited guests even made a scene. It's not usually Edward's late like this. As long as they knew Edward, this was the first time it had happened.

"Well, Daniel, I don't think the universe agrees that you're engaged to him" Brenda said.

"Don't add to the burden of my mind, Brenda! They're only late, not running away!" reply Daniel's upset.

They returned silent. Daniel saw the clock in his hand several times. Time seems to be going so slow. He decides to exit the ballroom and chooses to pick up Sarah. This is unnatural because of the delay. However, just as he was intending to come out, someone blocked him.

"Sir, where are you going? In a few minutes Mr. Edward and Miss Sarah will be here. Please sit down first. Oh, yes, there's an offering from Miss Sarah for you. He intentionally left us a video. As long as you wait, we'll turn it around when you're happy" the person said.

Daniel considered the man's words. Not bad-minded, but as if toyed with like this.

"Daniel, wait a minute. We'd better enjoy what Sarah left you. Maybe it's some kind of engagement gift. He also hopes that you stay calm and wait until they come, doesn't he?"

Eventually, Helena managed to persuade Daniel. The guests were asked to sit in their own places. They also felt the same. Bored of waiting.

A large screen that will light up from the LCD projector. They are also curious about the gifts that the prospective woman gives to her man. Entering the video story, it apparently tells the story of a man and a woman. They separated because of her husband's affair with another woman.

The film portrays Daniel's past with someone. She obviously won't forget her name, but why would Sarah give such a movie gift?

"Ma, this movie is insinuating me!" Daniel's getting upset.

While Brenda, she also felt insinuated when the screening of the film took place. However, at the last seconds the film was about to end, suddenly a voice made him even more surprised.

"You like my surprise, Daniel?"

It turns out it was Sarah's voice, but she hasn't been seen where it is. Obviously it wasn't a recording, but Sarah's real voice from that spot in the ballroom. Daniel just couldn't find it.

"That's just a little picture of life in the past. I don't think I need to explain whose past it is."

Again the voice made Daniel's blood boil. Trouble making himself forget about Catherine, the voice was reminiscent of that time. Infidelity, divorce, robbing his wife of property for the sake of his own and his family's glory, and most recently is inhumane expulsion.

"Sarah, where are you? Don't play games with me! It's just the past!" shouted Daniel.

He did not realize that everyone was looking at him. It looks so bad that would-be fiance Sarah Victoria has a dark past.

"Wow, you're so emotional, honey! How about we get Lady Catherine Eleanor in front of you?"
