Chapters 1. Meeting First Love

"Catherine, sign our separation papers! Nor will you get a dime of my wealth! That is clearly stated in our prenuptial agreement" said Daniel Osvaldo.

Catherine already thought that this incident must have come. Her mother-in-law also seemed not to care about the destruction of her household. For the past five years, their marriage has been fine. However, lately Daniel showed a lot of changes and started to move away.

Catherine is 28 years old. Surely it is not too late to have a baby, but it seems that the opportunity is no longer there. Coupled with the bird news that her husband had another dream woman out there.

"Mam, don't you want to maintain our relationship?" Catherine Eleanor seeks protection from her mother-in-law, Helena Lolanthe.

The woman was initially silent, but moments later opened her voice. Quite a surprise to Catherine's hearing.

"Mama doesn't care about Daniel, Catherine. I think it's time to trade you for another woman. Daniel's got to find a more productive one, right? You may have forgotten that for five years we have all been waiting for good news from you, but the truth is not at all. We live in false hope!" A very painful speech was thrown from Helena's lips.

"Well, you heard my mama's words, didn't you? There is no reason to refuse our divorce. Sign it immediately and get out of my house!" snapped Daniel.

The man who had been loved, accompanied to fight to succeed, and now kicked him out with a divorce letter. Although Catherine did not know who her husband was cheating on, sooner or later she would meet.

There is no point in arguing anymore. The divorce papers were signed by Daniel. That means, just waiting for Catherine's approval.

"Well if that's what you want, Daniel. Do not let you regret letting go of me in this way" Catherine said with a slight curse. She hoped that her husband regretted divorcing her.

Catherine immediately put her signature on the paper. Then, Daniel immediately took it after getting what he wanted.

"You think I'm sorry, Cathy? Not at all!"

Cathy is actually a love and affectionate call that Daniel addressed to his wife. Even during the divorce she still mentioned the name, but Catherine did not consider it a love call anymore. In other words, it was like a very painful insult.

"Oh, yes, pack your things and leave my house!" Once again Daniel gave a unilateral eviction order.

Catherine was still standing in her place. Like there's glue that makes it hard to move. He scanned in all directions and tried to remember every happiness they had ever gone through. However, no wind or rain, suddenly presented divorce papers in front of him.

"Come, wait a minute? Didn't you hear Daniel's words just now? He's divorced you and get out of here!" Helena donated a voice to reinforce her son's words just now.

Catherine endured the tears, in fact, very hard. He walked towards the room with a roar of tears, but with a stifled cry. She could not hear such a loud cry because Daniel and Helena would surely laugh at her.

He immediately packed up some of his clothes put in a suitcase. She wanted to take her jewelry, but a voice surprised her.

"Let's put all that down! It's not your right to carry my jewelry. Oh, yes, do not forget to take off the wedding ring and also the jewelry you are wearing right now. Everybody put it on the table!" said Daniel.

How ugly Daniel is! He asked that everything be taken off without giving a single piece of fancy jewelry that Catherine had been wearing.

"Daniel, why are you doing that?"

"You forgot our prenuptial agreement, didn't you? If we get divorced, you can only bring a few pieces of clothes. There won't be any jewelry, any compensation money, or anything else."

Usually the chest is the backrest, but now it is even the biggest enemy. Daniel immediately shook Catherine's hand very strongly.

"That's nothing compared to my five-year wait, Catherine. I also want to be like any other family that can have offspring. I am an only child. So, it's only natural that I decide this unilaterally. You have to accept it. If there's nothing else you need to take from this room, get out!" Daniel pointed to the wide open door.

Catherine pulled the suitcase. He walked through a few stairs all the way down. He meets Helena, but she doesn't see him.

Yes, Catherine came out without bringing any money. Daniel also robs the rest of his savings, even his ATMs are confiscated.

Catherine walked on her bare feet. He pulled the suitcase with a sense of tightness, wanted to scream, and poured all the misery of his life into this universe. Though only last night whispers of Daniel's love still screeching in his bed.

When despair was not brimmed, a luxury sedan suddenly stopped in front of him. Catherine stopped her steps and saw who was going to get out of the car.

A man in black glasses, with his masculine appearance, his body was tall, and almost made Catherine not recognize him.

When the glasses were removed, his eyes clashed. The man scanned the woman's face. And so did Catherine.

"Edward?"

"Catherine?"

Both remember. Sure oes. Both Edward and Catherine have had special relationships in the past.

"Come on, get in my car!" Edward pulled the suitcase and put it in the trunk.

After the car rolled back, Edward did not ask much. Maybe there's something Catherine's been through. To keep the woman feeling unharmed, Edward kept quiet and let her go. He would wait until Catherine told him of her own accord.

"You didn't ask me why?"

Edward smiled. "You understand me better, Catherine. No need to ask anymore, but I'm waiting for you to tell me."

There was shock in the depths of his heart. Suppose that match does not happen. Suppose her late parents did not force Catherine to marry Daniel. Perhaps he was already living happily with the man beside him at this moment.

"I divorced my husband, Edward. He kicked me out of the house and took everything."

"I'm sorry about what happened to you, Catherine. So where are you going now?"

This was what Catherine was thinking at the moment. His parents' house was sold by Daniel and used as additional capital for his business at that time. Catherine said it because Daniel convinced her that this effort would make a lot of money. It was true in reality, but after the divorce signature, Catherine got nothing.

"I don't know, Edward."

If Catherine wanted to, she wanted to be taken anywhere by her first love. However, his mouth was too faint to say for fear of hurting Edward's wife.
