Because of a Dream

Part 22's. Baffled

The next day they found the woman lying unconscious with a wound on her hand.

"Mom! mother why? Mom, wake up mom! Shouted Christine while crying at her mother's side.

The blood on the woman's hand stained her clothes because it was so much. The woman tried to get out of the room by banging on the door with her hand.

Seeing what had happened to her mother, Christine was angry at the boy.

"It's all brother's fault! If we hadn't locked her up last night, I wouldn't be like this."

The boy did not dare to answer anything because he felt guilty. He felt that everything that had happened was caused by him. His safety was threatened in the hands of the woman.

Then the two of them immediately lifted the woman up and laid her on the bed and bandaged her wound.

"At a time like this, you want to take me away from him? No brother! That's never gonna happen. Mom needs a lot of help right now." Christine was upset.

Then he spoke again,

"Mom, please wake up! Why did Mom become like this? I'm scared and worried." He continued to look at his mother with sadness.

Christine was always faithful to be by her mother's side waiting for her to wake up. As for her brother, she waited outside the room for fear that the woman would get angry again upon seeing him.

Then no matter how long they were on guard, the woman began to come to her senses and opened her eyes. He turned to Christine who was down in tears and said,

"Why are you crying, son?"

Instantly they were both shocked to see it, but also delighted. Then the woman spoke again,

"Don't cry anymore. Mom is okay. It will be fine later too. Where's your brother? I want to apologize to her."

Hearing that, the boy immediately entered despite still hesitating and fearing. But he said nothing to her.

When the woman apologized, the boy went and ran to the park.

"What am I supposed to do? Am I so confused?

My God, I was so afraid that at any time I fell asleep, the woman came to attack me again because of a nightmare. Even now I am still afraid even though he has come to his senses and apologized. I'm so confused."

Christine came up to him and said,

"What is your sister thinking? Why does my sister look worried? Trust me, you've really changed."

"I am confused myself. I'm just afraid that at any time the woman would come out and hurt me while I was asleep. When will the woman recover completely? Is he going to recover? Your mother doesn't like me even though I've worked hard for you. He generalized to me like a man who hurt him."

"Well..." Christine took a deep breath as if confused as to what to say. But then he said again,

"What should I say, brother. I love you both and want to stay with you both. We are like family. I can't choose who I'm staying with. I know my brother is very scared. But I don't want my brother to leave. Trust me, my mother is healed. And he won't have nightmares anymore. He won't hurt sister anymore."

"But I'm not sure."

But apparently her stepmother heard their conversation. He was standing at the kitchen door not far from the garden. Then he said in his heart,

"The boy is no different than any evil man in general. He always tried to influence my daughter. Just look I won't forgive you."

Then the woman called the two children and said,

"Son, what are you doing there? I've been looking for you guys."

"Mom, you're still sick. I need to rest." Christine.

"Son, mom's really hungry. Can you make me a bowl of warm soup for mom?"

"Soup? Alright. But I went to the market to buy the ingredients. Can you still be patient, can you wait?"

"No! Let me just go. You guys just wait. I won't be long." Said the boy.

So the boy immediately went to buy the ingredients they were going to cook. He was shopping fast because he did not want to make the two wait long.

Then after all the ingredients were complete, the boy immediately went home and handed it to his sister.

"This material. You can cook yourself, right?"

"Sister, help me."

But suddenly the woman came and said,

"Mom wants to see you two cook. I also want to enjoy the cooking you make, son." Said to the boy.

The boy just nodded and started to work. As for the woman, she sat down and was busy thinking about how to remove the boy from her life without her daughter's knowledge.

Soon enough, the food was cooked. They immediately presented it to the woman.

But suddenly the woman complained that her head was dizzy. So he told Christine to go buy some medicine.

The very innocent Christine just obeyed what her stepmother ordered.

While Christine was away, the boy also sat in front of the woman with a feeling of anxiety and fear. He is still traumatized by what happened to him. His eyes were unceasingly watching the woman's every move.

Then when Christine had gone far away, the woman quickly hit the boy's head with a glass until it bled. The injury was serious enough to cause the boy to faint.

Then he immediately dragged the boy into the secret room and tied him there, at a stake. After that he left and went back to the dining table to clean things up.

When Christine came back and gave the medicine to her mother, she was astonished not to see her brother there.

"Oh yeah mom, where's sister? Why isn't he eating?"

"Your brother went to his room. He said he wanted to rest and not be disturbed. Maybe he's very tired. But he ate first." Reply to her stepmother with a smile.

"Oh so. But I want to give her this milk. I see that brother doesn't seem well."

"Later. Maybe your brother's asleep." Reply to the woman while pulling Christine's hand trying to intercept her.

"Mmm, fine then. I went to the room first, Mom. I'm not hungry yet. I'll eat first. Don't forget to take the medicine immediately to get well quickly."

"Wait son. Please accompany me to eat. I'm so lonely eating alone."

So he sat down, but his feelings were a little unsettled. But she could not do much because her mother always asked her to be by her side.

He was helpless and had to obey. He accompanied her until her mother fell asleep. Then she quietly went to her brother's room. Since he had finished eating, he had not seen his brother. Whether her brother really sleeps or goes somewhere else.

But when she gets there, Christine doesn't find her sister in her room.

"Brother where? Mother said she was sleeping. If he left, I would have seen him. Did you lie again? Where is brother? Gosh.. I could not be sane for a long time because of all this."
