Apocalypse After
Behind the Glitter

Alexander flicked his finger, looking satisfied with the response of the three people. He then sat back down to his chair, then began to explain.

“As before, I want to borrow your men.”

Sir Gareth shook his head. The old man then replied, “It is impossible for us to send too many troops. Let alone level 3 hunters, who in each group do not have that much amount.”

“Then how many can you send?” alexander asked, tilting his head.

“We can give 30 ordinary workers, 25 level 1 hunters, and 10 level 2 hunters,” Gareth replied.

Hearing Gareth's reply, Mr. Lenka and Mr. Wilson nodded. Such an amount is acceptable. After all, it didn't have much of an impact on them. Alexander shook his head.

“I absolutely don't need a level 1 hunter. I need 40 ordinary workers, 20 level 2 hunters, and 3 level hunters 3.” Alexander lowered his offer.

“Too many!” Mr. Lenka shook his head. “Most 1 hunter level 3.”

“Two hunter level 3.” Alexander said relax. “As a rental change, I will give you wine every week, one bottle of Scarlet Dusk. I can also forge weapons for you. One weapon takes 2 months.”

“It was interesting, but .. add more wine. Everyone gets five bottles of Scarlet Dusk and one bottle of Violet Midnight.” Mr. Wilson bargained.

“It hurt me. At most 3 bottles of Scarlet Dusk and 1 bottle of Violet Midnight, but every two weeks. If you agree, let's agree, if not, forget it.” Alexander took a long breath. “Let that level 1 hunter come. Although a little less good, but can still be used.”

Hearing Alexander's words, the three old men looked at each other. To be honest, lending their troops to the man was in no way detrimental. Although it means subordinates who can be directly moved not much, but still can be tolerated.

Mr. Lenka and Mr. Wilson nodded at Sir Gareth. The chairman of Thorns Dragon replied, “As long as food matters become your dependents, the three of us do not mind.”

“Then, from 40 ordinary people .. I ask 35 people who are quite young and strong, the rest are women who can cook.” Alexander nodded lightly.

“Then agree,” said Sir Gareth.

“It's nice to work with the three of you. However, I need your help to run this project.”

Alexander smiled behind his mask.

“You won't refuse, right?”

The next day afternoon.

In the forest not too far away from Shelter 1, there seemed to be dozens of people lined up neatly. Most of them were around thirty years old, there was only a small portion that were over the age. They were all people sent from the Cursed Lambs, Black Punisher, and Thorns Dragon.

“I know many of you who are dissatisfied with being asked to follow me.” Alexander shrugged his shoulders. “Take it easy, you guys are not dumped by your group. Instead, you guys are assigned here to do more important missions. Before that, there's something I want to make sure.”

Alexander stroked his chin. Seeing the doubtful expressions of the people, he finally explained.

“In this mission, I am the leader. I do my own work, but I must also direct you. So, since I know that you guys aren't sure about me, then I brought you here to bet.

To level 3 hunters, if anyone can defeat me, you are free to do what you want. As for hunter level 2 ...

Well, as long as you can drop me, you are also free to do anything.”

Alexander then took off his robe and threw it on a tree branch, hanging it as if it were a hanger. He then looked towards the 66 people in front of him.

“Jadi ... who wants to advance first?”

Meanwhile, in one of the Nine Gates hideouts.

In an enclosed space similar to a study room filled with shelves and books, Annie sat on a chair while propping up her chin. His expression did not seem as cheerful or friendly as usual. The woman looked bored. He then glanced towards May then asked, “How are those people? Looks like they're pretty persistent.”

“Report Miss, the envoys seem to have become impatient. Moreover, the envoy from Shelter 11 seemed to be having a bit of trouble. As you requested earlier, I've been looking for information about them,” reply May flat.

The maid then placed a few sheets of report paper on Annie's front desk, then stood behind her quietly. Then, Annie began to read the report calmly.

After reading the report, Annie said with an interested expression on her face.

“Heeh .. what an interesting guy. Does she drive around District 3 every day to see us just for getting a leak that Annie Rosewald occasionally comes out of the castle? I don't know if he's a genius or a fool. However, he is indeed a persistent person.

Octavius Rubruzen? That guy's causing trouble again. That's why I hate small-brained people but have too much ambition. The kind of person who is not self-conscious of boundaries, does not try to reach for what can be achieved but instead tries to take that too far.

Yes ...it is not a loss for us. Instead, it benefits us greatly. So it's okay.”

Annie's flat voice echoed in the small room. If others heard him, they would not believe such words were spoken by him. That was because, few people knew the other side of the woman.

“Do you need to do it, Miss?” ask Mei.

Annie turned to her servant and asked, “You mean?”

“Don't you already call all the Nine Gates members scattered all over the Blood Cross region. The four families have been split to support the new leadership candidate. I think the power of Nine Gates can still be reckoned with,” replied May.

“Your speech is not at all wrong May. It's just that it wasn't the most optimal choice because it would expose my identity. So I need another support. For example, the envoys who came to Shelter 1. Besides, you should always remember.

Annie Rosewald was a weak woman and could do nothing but ask for support. That's what they should see.

As for Nine Gates ..”

Annie leaned back on her seat while closing her eyes.

“Let our group remain in shadow. Keep hiding and do everything secretly. Do it in the shadows, behind the sparkling of this deceitful world.”
