“OMONG BLANK!”
Inside his room, Claude kicked down the table with an expression full of anger and disappointment.
The young man did not expect Alexander to leave Shelter 101 at all. Not to mention, there was absolutely no turmoil or trouble whatsoever occurring in this place. It felt like that person just left without feeling the slightest bit of unwillingness.
Claude felt angry and disappointed that Alexander did not even say goodbye to him before leaving. He felt that the two of them were friends and rivals. But the attitude that Alexander found made him start to question whether all of that was right or wrong.
“H-Please be patient, Boss!”
Hearing that, Claude looked over. Not far from the door, three people were standing with nervous expressions. One of them is Kid. The other two are Claude's other subordinates, Ronn and Jimmy.
Jimmy is a short and skinny young man. White skin is rather dull and unkempt with a pale face.
Ronn himself was a young man of Claude's age, but taller. He was black and bald, but had a stocky body as he often did heavy work. Only, he could not communicate well, often only nodding or shaking his head when replying to questions.
Although not looking strong and unconvincing, Claude chose them because the three were his friends since childhood. They are close enough, even helping each other when in trouble. Friends since I was at the bottom.
Kid, Ronn, and Jimmy initially assume Claude's decision is careless and hasty. Who would have thought, the friend they thought killed himself was now instead a level 1 Hunter. It made the three of them ashamed and did not dare to approach Claude.
Whether it was physicality, intelligence, and skill. There was nothing conspicuous of Claude. That was why the three thought the young man had committed suicide for trying to follow the quiet Alexander and often did absurd things.
It's just that, whether it's hard work or just luck, Claude proved himself after becoming a real Hunter. Not just people who consumed some level 1 evolution herbs, but real Hunters who had absorbed the miracle root. Not to mention, an extremely rare type of special!
At first, the three of them thought that Claude had forgotten about them. But they don't mind it because their lives have changed, they are no longer in the same place.
Kid, Ronn, and Jimmy are shocked when Claude recruits them. After knowing his goal, the three of them agreed. That's how Claude's small group formed.
“Please calm down, Brother Claude. Brother Al has left a letter for you,” Kid said.
“APA?!” Claude immediately snatched the letter in Kid's hands at full speed.
The young man sat on the bed with a serious expression. After a while of reading, Claude's body trembled. He squeezed the paper with an expression full of determination and fighting spirit.
“RULY! A mid-level Shelter was indeed good, but not enough. Although it will not leave this place soon, but I am sure ..”
Claude's lips were raised high.
“I definitely met you on a higher stage!”
...----------------...
The 11th, 04th month, 398th year of the black lunar calendar.
“It takes a week to get to this place.”
Alexander muttered softly as he looked at the large gate and the five-meter-high stone wall in the distance.
Shelter 13 is a small town surrounded by five-meter-high stone walls. The wall was quite thick and sturdy, enough to deter some low-level monsters.
“Stop there!”
Just approaching the gate, a loud and resolute voice sounded. The few people guarding the gate stared at Alexander with wary expressions on their faces.
“Is something wrong?” alexander asked, tilting his head.
“Name, identity and your destination came to Shelter 13.”
“Include, my name is Alexander. I used to be a wanderer, but the group was annihilated and I was lucky to survive. I lived in Shelter 101 and had a cover letter. You guys can check it out,” Alexander replied with a friendly smile on his face.
The gatekeepers looked at each other and checked the letter of introduction that Alexander had brought. Seeing that the young man had lived in Shelter 101 for three years and was now a Hunter at such a young age, they were all shocked. Absolutely did not expect that the young man was the original Hunter, not ‘magang’ who had just tried to take the Hunter path.
It's just that, instead of assuming Alexander's abilities high, they think that the young man has good luck. After all, in a top-tier shelter like Shelter 13, many youths wanted to become Hunters. Yet most of them have not managed to do so, even losing their lives halfway through.
“You can report to the guard office near the gate. There you can choose where to live. Of course it's still with the old rules. If not a member of Blood Cross, the cost is doubled.”
“Understanding.”
Alexander looked at the guard then nodded lightly. Those four people were level 1 Hunters, but he still had the confidence to face them. Only, the young man would not intentionally create trouble just because he wanted to appear flashy. Mixing with the crowd is the best option.
After entering Shelter 13 area, Alexander registered. He gave all the hunts found today to be exchanged as points. That way, the young man can choose a relatively good residence. With the help of officers, he went to District 4.
Shelter 13 consists of five districts. District 1 was in the middle, where the higher-ups lived. District 2 is in the east, where the Hunters who joined Blood Cross live. District 3 is in the north, where entertainment and commerce are conducted. District 4 is in the west, where the ‘outs who rent live. District 5 is in the south, where the refugees live, commonly called the slum district.
District 1 is the smallest but most beautiful. District 2 and District 4 are not very spacious but there are quite a number of houses worth living in. After all, that's where the Hunters are. District 3 is wider because many things are there. Whether it was a weapon shop, potions, entertainment, even some other dark things. While District 5 is the most extensive, but also very crowded where the refugees huddle. It can hardly be lived.
Many people say that the placement of Shelter 13 is similar to Shelter 1, only different locations and extent.
“Not bad,” murmured Alexander.
Looking at the one-story wooden house with a fairly short roof and a small courtyard, Alexander nodded in satisfaction. By the time the officer left, he pulled out the key and went inside. Inside, there are three rooms. One room is bigger and two rooms are smaller.
The house that Alexander lived in was actually rarely ordered by the Hunters. Except for level 2 Hunters and above, or family Hunters, they were reluctant to throw away the points to stay in such a reasonably good house. After all, those people considered it a waste of the room, throwing away points for something unnecessary.
Alexander himself chose it because he already had his own ideas. A large space for him to sleep, eat, and relax. A small space to scratch clothes, tools, and materials to make weapons or traps. Another small space to store food and raw materials for the manufacture of various herbs. All rooms are well used.
The young man then began to clean the small house, arranging his belongings according to their kind. And then just rest.
Lying on the floor with the feathers of a level 1 ferocious beast, Alexander stared at the ceiling while thinking hard. Moments later, he muttered, “Need to gather more information about DIstrik 13.”
Although the expression on his face returned flat, the young man's eyes sparkled.
“Go to the entertainment district tonight.”
