Samantha and Noril immediately shot towards the eastern district under the moonlight. Their hiding skill was activated as the two jumped from one roof to the other. With their levels, running from the western to the southern districts did not take more than a few seconds. Then they would perch on top of the tallest building like an owl. Keep an eye on the seedy buildings that seem to be built so neatly.
"He's down there" Noril said after confirming the target's whereabouts using his skill.
"Yeah, I can feel it." Samantha Sahut.
No sound was heard around the two of them, as Samantha and Noril communicated using telepathy. Through a similar item, Samantha contacted her captain along with the rest of the party.
"I'll go first. After all not many could sense the existence of an astral figure." As soon as Noril turned transparent, he was startled by the constant feeling of being watched.
"Meow~" The voice of a cat suddenly sounded from behind the two assassins. Make Samantha and Noril jump immediately and pull their weapons. He landed on the roof of another building without a sound.
"Meow~" It is a yellow-brown cat with a black bottle that resembles a mini version of a jaguar.
"Could it be some kind of magical pet?" ask Samantha to the other side.
"Who let such an expensive pet roam the city for granted?" Noril with another question. "And again, he can figure out our whereabouts with [Presence Concealment] active!"
After revealing himself, the cat disappeared right in front of the two assassin's eyes. Noril could only widen his eyes in silence, not knowing what to react to. Meanwhile, Samantha was not so surprised because of her knowledge of the Night Watcher.
"He can use partial authority from hiding" he told Noril.
"You mean the authority of the dream god?" Noril could understand events beyond that logic. "So, do you understand the message he wants to convey? or does he just want to show himself?"
"I don't know." Samantha was also dumbfounded.
"Hey, it's me, Antares. Noir told me of your arrival, so can you guys move a little faster? I'll explain the rest later." The sound of the children who still had not broken reached the minds of the two assassins.
Noril and Samantha exchanged glances for a moment. Then one of them answered.
"Understand."
The two began to think that the cat was named Noir. He's watching this place on Antares' orders. So he intended to do something with this place, but then Samantha and Noril came. In other words, the message from the servant, was just a cover to cover up Antares' strength and actions.
"Truly an annoying kid, couldn't he have done it sooner?" grumbled Noril in annoyance.
Samantha just chuckled, "It seems she's the type to worry about things."
Samantha and Noril enter the building through a half-closed window. There were quite a number of guards inside, which at first glance was equivalent to a silver to gold rank adventure. The guards could not sense the presence of the intruder who had just entered. Noril and Samantha embark on a mission of cleansing.
Using the [Astral Form], Noril made his sword semi-transparent. Cut the neck veins, veins, and nerves behind their neck skin. Meanwhile, Samantha absorbs their life energy quickly making them feel tired, then sleep for eternity. Of course they made sure that the guards did not fall and cause a commotion. Within a short period of time, the entire guard on the first floor had been wiped out without a drop of blood spilling on the floor.
"Hmmmm, it should be here. Careful trap."
Samantha was silent as she followed Noril on his way to the basement. Noril and Samantha activate a skill that serves to detect traps, and they discover quite a number of small but deadly traps hidden behind walls and ceilings.
Arriving at the basement, they found a lot of large wooden boxes.
After making sure there were no strange traps, Samantha immediately opened one of the boxes. His eyes widened as soon as he saw the contents in the box. There was a teenage girl inside, bound and gagged, naked.
The girl looked clean and fell asleep. As if you care nothing in this world.
Seeing the condition of the girl, immediately Samantha's blood boiled. A person's face suddenly flashed in his mind. A crisp sound was heard from the wood in his hand. "Those bastard Bastards...!!!"
His emotions subsided a little when Noril touched his shoulder. "We're gonna finish them off. Just be patient a little more."
"I'm sorry, I can't control myself for a moment." Samantha took a deep breath, focusing her attention with renewed determination.
Noril said nothing more. He knows the pain Samantha has suffered more than anyone. But, he had no intention of comforting her.
Unfortunately, the room contained only those boxes. At first glance, they found out that almost all of the boxes contained living things. Samantha was about to save them, but she abandoned her intentions. At least for now.
As they were about to return, there was the sound of footsteps echoing from the stairs. The two assassins immediately hid behind the box even though their hiding skills were still active. Soon, they showed themselves. A pair of guards are equivalent to the adventures of Orichalcum.
It was not that surprising that an organization like the Black Wolf had Orichalcum rank adventures in it. Nor would they be surprised to see a warrior of Adamantine class, due to their reputation of being able to control the underworld of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't change anything, in front of a Heroic-class adventurer and a Night Watcher.
"I heard we got some really good new stuff tonight." Said one of the men while sweeping his gaze across the room. He was a little surprised when he saw that one of the boxes was still open.
"Who left the box open? Although they work half drunk, but isn't this too sloppy?" another man said, walking closer to the open city. And close it without blinking an eye. "Ah, I've seen it. Even if he's a boy, I still want to try it."
"really? a brat? is he that good that hard-line guy like you is attracted to him?" ask the other guy.
"Yeah, he's that good. It's possible that she has a double gender or how, I don't know either. But she has a diamond-shaped tattoo that circles her neck. I honestly feel like I've seen the tattoo, but I can't remember it one bit." Said one of the guards as he walked to the other box, checking them one by one.
"Maybe it's just your imagination? if you don't remember it doesn't matter much."
"Hahaha, it could be."
"Is that so? thanks for the info." Noril whispered from behind one of the guards. One of his hands silenced the mouth of the guard, while the other hand stabbed him in the neck with a dagger. The man made a strange sound before his consciousness disappeared.
"Good job." He turned his head towards Samantha who also managed to paralyze the other guards. "Unfortunately we can't figure out where the secret path is."
"It seems that our skills are becoming a little obsolete." Samantha laughed.
