Ch. 53 Treaty of Favonius

Antares' gaze spun between the black-robed man lying on the ground, and the blue-haired child who was about to experience a mental breakdown.

"You want to hold him?" Steve asked with a serious look. Despite his small stature, Antares is not someone who will forgive a murderer. So, Steve could understand that the child was planning something just from that small difference.

Now what am I supposed to do? // Antares held his chin back and closed his eyes, finding something in his limited memory. Then a sentence came out of his lips, "Hey, what's your name?"

The person he asked was the little boy with the light blue hair. His face was deathly pale with a blank look, and his mouth was slightly frothy. However, when his eyes met directly with Antares's eyes it was like shaking. It was as if he was entering a semi-conscious state.

"Joe. I'm June, greetings."

For a moment Antares felt goosebumps when he heard the voice of the child. It was soft and delicate, to the point of being filled with magical energy. The look, it resembled an empty doll. But Antares did not goosebumps out of fear, but instead he just grinned widely. He was so happy that he could not hide his grin. // Ah, Ren will love it so much~!!

"Ehem, June, why are you being chased by that guy? What's the problem that makes someone want to get rid of you?" Ask with a straight look to the eyes.

"I don't know, they're after my friend Luke. He said something about the cover letter." He said without hiding anything.

Just say, Antares doubted the truth of the sentence, so he had to make sure he used another method. Apparently, the boy was telling the truth.

"Where's Luke now?" ask Steve.

"He was in his house, lying on the ground, covered in blood!" As if the thread whose terrain was finally cut off, Jun's cry broke. "Yeahah!!! Hiccu...."

Looks like Luke has a great value for June. A fella? I think more. // Antares just kept quiet, he chose to let the boy vent all his emotions.

"I can ask Ren for help if the problem is too big for me to handle."

Antares turned his gaze back to Jun who was still sitting weakly on the ground. He ascertained some certain information through the truth book, including family, track record, and others. Then he put a worm into his body.

"Well, June." Antares clapped his hands with a sweet smile. "Why do you look so scared when you see me?"

"I, because the person I hate the most has a similar look to you."

"hate? Are you sure? Most hated or most feared? tell me who he is." Antares takes one arc ahead followed by another.

Subconsciously, the child moved away from Antares. Seeing the reaction, Antares just smiled broadly. Today, it looks like a cat and a mouse. A predator and its prey.

"He's... He is. a-my father..."

"Baby?"

"Yes, the man who gave birth to me?"

"Tell me, why do you hate that guy so much?" Antares could not hide the smile on his face. Steve just shook his head next to her

"He'll hit me with wood, or push me to the dinging. If he's drunk, he'll beat me with his fist. If he's angry he'll hit me, if he's happy, he'll hit me. Whenever there was a problem, he would vent his anger on me, saying 'useless boy' or .... 'how could a boy like you even be born?...' ...."

I can imagine her expression as she said that sentence. If I was in his position... // Antares sighs heavily. // Can I stay sane?

"Yes." Yeah."

"Have you ever fought him?"

"No, never?"

"Why?"

"Because he's a lot stronger than me. So it's useless for me to fight."

Do cowards and cowards have the same definition? I don't know, it's possible that June has two definitions.// thought Steve.

What the hell just happened? I remember the man's eyes turning into liquid mera..... // As soon as the scene flashed through Jun's mind, he immediately shivered in fear.

"Well June, answer my question." Antares looked at him seriously, until a mysterious light seemed to seep out of his retina.

*gulp.*

That said, there are several types of monsters that can turn into humans naturally, or use human skin as a disguise. And now, June is starting to believe it.

"What would you give me in exchange for saving your life?"

I have nothing. //is the first word that comes to mind June. For some reason, he was not surprised by the question. In fact, Jun felt a little relieved. Because all these problems can be solved with a little stuff. Then, he recalled the precious items he had. A silver-plated watch, a knife, the shirt he was wearing today, some silver coins, ...

"I only have things that are not so even, is that enough?"

"really? I'm sure you have other stuff." Antares looked at the boy from head to toe with a mysterious smile. Which once again makes the book I sit June stand firm.

Does he want my blood? // June covered her neck area as a natural reaction. But in retrospect, his blood was not very precious. It didn't matter if he lost a few pints of blood. After all, he's not dead. "All right, I'm ready."

Antares was fixated for a moment, before saying, "I haven't even said anything. But, alright, the contract is done."

Antares uses the contract with Ren as his witness. Then suddenly Jun felt a little dizzy and limp. His hand gripped his head firmly, trying to stay conscious. His face looked very pale like a dried up corpse. Meanwhile, Antares sees the haru itrm displayed in the HuD screen

"Ah, I forgot to say it. Items lost in the Treaty of Favonius cannot be returned except by the consent of the other party." Antares grinned, revealing a neatly arranged row of white teeth. "Your blood will never return."

What'd he say? // Unfortunately, June is too dizzy to understand the sentence.

"so apparently. No problem, what you need to know is.... First, what will you give to save your life this time? Second, what are you going to do to save Luke's dying life right now?"

Luke... // June gritted her teeth, staring intently at Antares. "Anything! I'll give up anything! So please save us!"

Hear that answer. The grin on Antares' face became wider.
