Three days of snowstorms have not subsided. I think this year's winter has been the most dreadful than the year before. Thank goodness it's still school. So, I don't have to bother getting up early and struggling in the cold air.
I glanced at the window. The wind is still blowing ferociously out there. No vehicles passed or people were walking. Then my eyes fell on the mother who was wearing her brown coat. Both my parents are going to Grandma's. She said grandma was sick. Mom and Dad took me but I refused. Out of the house in the middle of a storm like this? I prefer to spend time at home all day and watch television.
I peeked behind the door, staring at my father's car that was getting further away. I closed the door and locked it three times.
“A-time cold!” I said blow both palms.
It's almost night. Mom and Dad have not come home yet. I still faithfully sat in bed, reading novels accompanied by hot chocolate and biscuits.
“How long was it?” I muttered a little riled up, immediately I took a rabbit-motif sweater in the closet. Damnit damnit! I was dressed in layers, but still cold.
I walked towards the window. Exhale on the glass then wipe it using the elbow. I looked outside, then my eyes accidentally caught something. There are footprints that fill the side yard of the house and then turn towards the front yard. The tracks were clearly imprinted on the snow. It was as if someone had just passed by. I frowned. Who is wandering during the storm? Out of curiosity, I went downstairs.
The wind blew against my face as I opened the door. I glanced around. But I couldn't find any trace of that strange. When I look ahead. There was someone there, standing across the street, he was tall and very thin. I couldn't see his face clearly because the wind was blowing. All I know is that his whole body is black. I've never seen him. He waved his hand towards me, that skinny hand moving slowly and stiffly. Sound “ngiiik!!” it sounded loud in his ears every time he waved his hand.
“I can't hear you!” I was shaking withstanding the cold. The figure was still waving hands.
Suddenly my steps stopped. Our distance is only a few meters. My face paled and my eyes widened perfectly when I looked at him. The figure had long fingers and pointed fingernails tip of the needle. Her face was flat! Without nose, eyes? only a mouth full of canine teeth he's got. My entire body felt frozen when I saw him grinning so widely, almost filling half his face.
All became silent, the roar of the wind no longer sounded by me. It was as if I was in another dimension. My neck was wrapped around something so I could not scream or breathe while my eyes were still staring at him, his wide mouth moving slowly. I try to guess what he said. Then, I faintly heard a voice.
“Mati!”
“Mati!”
“Mati!”
My breath choked, I haven't had a chance to look to the side, something hit my body until it sounded “brak!!” very hard one. I felt like everything was getting dark. But I could still hear his hoarse and creepy laughter.
