The smell of the rose instantly calmed me down. I haven't been to a rose garden in a long time. Especially the rose garden of Grandma. I had not asked Grandma for permission to enter her rose garden, but I knew that she would allow me because I was her favorite granddaughter! Hehe.
Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce myself to you guys. Introduce it! I'm Florin. I am 12 years old, and I am currently in the 6th grade. I have undergone a class exam, and today I will be on vacation for 2 weeks. That's why my family took me to Grandma's house.
I haven't been to Grandma's house in a long time. As I recall, it's been 4 years since I last went to my Grandma's house. Every now and then, my mother starts a call with her mother. However, because he was not very familiar with technology, as a result Grandma was often helped by my sister to call us. Unfortunately, lately my aunt rarely accompanied Grandma, as a result we rarely met her.
However, it is nothing to worry about, because I am currently in the village of Airadem, the village where Grandma lives. Papa allowed me to play for a while in Grandma's rose garden. Normally, when I was with grandma in her garden, I was allowed to pick some roses that I liked. But, since grandma wasn't here, I locked up my intention to take it. I just looked around, because it was very late afternoon.
“Florinn, let's go to the kitchen for a while, help mama cook fried chicken yuk!”
My mom called me. I have to hurry up and get out of here, and help mama to cook fried chicken. Most likely, the fried chicken will be served to me. Who else if not Florin who is a girl who likes fried chicken the most in this village? Haha.
Finished draining my fried chicken, I also thought to make sambal as a complement to my dinner later. Coincidentally, my aunt had just returned home shopping from the market. And I'm sure if he buys some chili and garlic, because before, my mama left the money to buy chili and onions.
Since my aunt was in the living room, I needed to get out of the kitchen to meet my aunt. Do not forget to cover the fried chicken that I just lifted with the lid of the pot, so that no flies or insects will contaminate my chicken. Hehehe, I'm sorry but I'm just worried, because in Grandma's house there are a lot of insects that are a little creepy to me!
I walked from the kitchen to the family room. I just walked slowly, because I knew the area of Grandma's house was very fresh. No wonder, because Airadem village is a village at the foot of the mountain.
So much enjoying the air around, I didn't realize I was right in front of the back door. The door leads right where Grandma's rose garden is located. But I felt a strange. Usually, every day I can smell roses when I am near my grandmother's garden. But now I can't smell anything. I could only feel the cold that gave me goosebumps.
“Florin... Where are you going ndhuk?”
Uh, Grandma's voice? I looked back and found Grandma sitting on the mat that I used to sit on.
“Wah, Grandma here must be worried about her rose garden Grandma!” I said as I headed to the mat to sit with him.
Grandma was seen stirring up a hot drink inside a small cup. That's where I started to smell the distinctive roses. However, the fragrance was already mixed with other scents, but I was unable to recognize the foreign fragrance. Out of curiosity, I asked Grandma.
“Grandma again make what? How does it smell like a rose but not a rose?” I asked in complete astonishment.
Grandma just smiled. He continued to stir, then he blew it little by little.
“Grandma again make rose tea, Grandma often make this since grandma was young first.” She replied in a weak voice.
I've never seen Grandma drink tea made from roses. Does Grandma rarely drink that tea, or am I the only one who has not seen Grandma in the last 4 years? Now, that question doesn't really matter now, because I'm already with my dear Grandma.
“Grandma is here alone? Didn't you come with your aunt in the family room? Especially outside it's cold Nek.” My toot.
Again, Grandma just smiled a little. He did not answer my question, and instead offered me a cup containing the rose tea that Grandma had stirred earlier.
“Try first, the rose tea is good grandma you know.” Bargainly.
Since I was a good child, I accepted it with pleasure. I have never tried a tea that has the taste of flowers in it, let alone the smell of roses that my Grandmother liked. Because the tea has just been brewed, it will definitely feel more delicious, especially drunk at night that has cold weather. Well, although tea is more often drunk in the morning to accompany breakfast, but I do not know if the rose tea made by Grandma has different benefits and uses.
I took the tea, and the taste I got was unexpected. The bitter and sweet taste mixes into one. And strangely again, the sweet taste is not derived from sugar, but from pure honey whose price is currently towering. This tea can be enjoyed anytime and anywhere. I can't believe this Grandma-made rose tea instantly became the one I liked the most!
Uh, but I feel something weird. Earlier, I found this tea to have hot steam. And it means that this tea has a hot temperature. However, why is the ‘panas’ I mean not in this tea? How could a tea that was warm instantly turn cold?
“Where's ndhuk? Is it good tea?” In the middle of me thinking hard, Grandma suddenly asked him about the taste of his homemade tea. It was good, but the drastic temperature change made me feel like something was wrong
“The Grandma's tea is delicious! But how does it feel cold well, even though it is better to drink tea fitting hot.” My wonder.
Again, Grandma did not answer. He even went on to make another rose tea for himself. Grandma also added a sprinkling of some dried rose petals. It seems like it was done by him to add a distinctive taste to the tea.
“Usually your mom and your daughter often helped grandma make this rose tea. Even almost some roses in the garden have been picked the same.” Obviously long.
“You know the scar on your mama's thigh? She used to make rose tea with grandma, and suddenly your mama's spilled hot water. So excited the boy forgot how to be careful.”
“How to make rose tea is easy, but not everyone knows ndhuk.” Continue Grandma.
I was amazed at Grandma who suddenly told me this. Especially my question that Grandma had not answered before. Is he trying to divert the conversation?
Suddenly, Grandma took my hand and gave me a small piece of paper.
His hands were cold, very cold. I don't know why I imagined Grandma's hand as an iron exposed to cold temperatures at night.
“Grandmother wants you to mix her rose tea recipe yes..Granny already trusts you more than others.” Her message with a smile.
L saw. The warmest smile I've ever seen. A smile that I will miss forever. Now, it's right in front of me. The smile was on Grandma's face. However, her beauty remained in that smile until I could not turn away from her.
“Florinnn!”
Uh, aunt called me. I have to get out of here, but Grandma still holds my hand. It seems like he wants to say something to me.
“Please yes ndhuk, do not let the rose tea recipe disappear..”.
“Nek, let's go inside, outside cold you know.” Take me to Grandma.
Unfortunately, Grandma only shook her head in response to my invitation. He turned to his rose garden, and at once I understood what he meant. Grandma wanted to look at her rose garden with her homemade rose tea. I said goodbye to him, then went into the house to meet my aunt who had called me before.
I searched where my aunt was, but I couldn't find her.
“You are out of where the hell ndhuk, aunty has brought the same chili lho.”
I was surprised, when I looked back, and found my aunt carrying a black plastic bag. It seems, the plastic contains chili and onion that you have ordered before.
“Hehe, sorry te, just had a chat with Grandma. Yaudah yuk te, make sambelnya just now.” Take me to the kitchen.
I set my foot towards the kitchen. But I could not hear the footsteps behind me. Did aunt just shut up and not follow me?
Well, my feelings are right. Aunt fell silent after I said something natural. Meet Grandma. But, why did Aunt put on a face full of shock?
“You talked to Grandma? In the garden of roses?” Ask wonder.
“Not your papa mama took you to Grandma's house for—”
Sentences interrupted. I wonder why Auntie said such a thing. But, uh,
“Uhh... Grandma is dead baby?”

Many new and old customers came to my small shop. After I posted a new product on the viralgram, I somehow always heard people discussing the instant rose tea I used to make.
‘So you know, just tried rose tea from FlorinTea so more confident me!’
‘Aduh, want to buy the rose tea but it always runs out, so the free chips directly from sister Florin!’
‘Eh you drink the usual tea, like I dong drink it rose tea, new products from FlorinTea you know!’
Most people who love rose tea are happy to try it while showing it off in their stories. But, not a few people are sad and upset because not to be part of the delicious rose tea taste this.
“FLORINNNN!”
While I was busy listing my sales today, my friend suddenly broke down the door of my study and ran to the desk.
“Do you know??!” Say it out loud.
“I don't know.” Reply with ease.
At once Jefa breathed. His face suddenly turned irritated. He didn't seem to like my reply just now.
“Tea roses made by you like you! Are you trying to make more markets?? I also saw a new post from Jestin Bubar about your rose tea! You don't realize that if your tea is bought by someone?? Astaghfirullahhaladzim yau bla bla bla..”
I hate people who tell too many stories, but Jefa who is my best friend does not deserve to be given an angry response from me.
I could only hear it, and occasionally I turned my gaze toward a picture frame near me. The picture frame is my encouragement today. Encouragement when I am sad. The encouragement when I was feeling desperate. And also encouragement in various things.
The photo is currently in near-defective condition, but fortunately some adhesives such as insulation and glue managed to make it not destroyed.
A picture of an old Grandma and myself in the past. And also the little piece of paper I once got near Grandma's rose garden.
“Hey you are afraid I am not Flor?”
Jefa suddenly surprised me. I don't really care what he says and says, as long as I'm not going berserk at the time, hahaha.
“Let's rest, the rose tea will not be a limited product, only the ingredients that make it difficult to be dipapet Jef.” I said while calming him down.
“You from the past I have nawarin you rose garden 2 hectares, but still do not want!” Angry Jefa.
“Had, do you know that I do not like to bother others, let alone my close friend like you Jef.”
“Eh, close friends well hehe.” Jefa was embarrassed.
“But I was always curious Flor, where did you get that tea recipe from? How can you do it!” Wonder Jefa.
I'm just smiling. Jefa could not have realized that. The recipe is always on my desk. I answered him with, too,
“From rose garden Jef.”
