Reading the Quest panel Elcia shared, a dumbfounded face was finally made to reappear among the three.
"H-hey, Franz. . . Do you know a Quest that uses Question Marks as its Rank?" ask Mortred.
"No." replied Franz, shaking slowly. "There were only a few people who had gotten S-Ranked Quests until now. But. . I guess, all the Demon Quests are exceptions."
Franz's words are quite understandable. Because other than in Nave village, the fact that players who had triggered a Quest with S-Rank difficulty could still be counted with fingers.
Seeing that, Mortred turned to the two girls before him with a worried expression. "Are you guys going to be okay with this Quest?"
" "No." "answer the two in unison without hiding anything.
"Honestly answer?" isval said, chuckling at the answer.
Alice let out a long sigh, then said in a tone full of defeat. "There's no point in lying when it's over the horn."
And everyone was made speechless for a while because of that answer.
Until at a point where Mortred himself had difficulty trying to resist his desire to. "—Pfft. . ! Ahahaha. . ."
Haha. . ! Ahahahahaha. . !
The laughter also exploded like a chain chemical reaction, which had to make the entire Subjugation Center watch the group of five people with a curious look.
'What's wrong with them?' like that's.
"Husuf. . . W-well, ahaha. . , wait. . ." Isval who still had a hard time stopping his laughter turned around for a moment.
"Ehem, okay. So, huhu, you have to go to Middle Terris and find those three people, then destroy the cursed sword that Bill gave you?" he asked, drawing a brief conclusion.
"That's how it is" said Alice then, nodding.
Isval glanced at Mortred and Franz alternately. "What do you think?"
It was not like Isval could decide everything by himself. Mortred, Isval and Franz; they have a bond with each other after all they did together as founding members of the nameless Party. To the extent that if one of them does not exist, they will be confused to do something.
And if there was one of the three who did not want to follow the trip to Central Terris, then they would not all come at all.
On the other hand, Elcia could only spin coins; a gamble between yes or no. Where the outcome is likely uncertain. And to get a good result, he must get a streak between three throws.
"I want to come, but I want to see your choice" Mortred said.
Heads.
Elcia won the first toss coin. But entering the second throw, unknowingly his heartbeat became even firmer, nervous.
Turning to Franz, all eyes were on the Support. And luckily, Franz immediately gave a silent nod of agreeing sign.
Heads.
Until the last part, everything depends on Isval as a decisive throw. Elcia could only hope that Isval would agree to that.
Honestly, the girl wanted the three of them to come with them. It might sound troublesome, but Elcia was already used to those people, and they were no longer a person so foreign to her —at least in Terris. The girl was also not too worried about the nature of the three, although she herself still could not completely dispel her cautious attitude towards others.
"I. . ." Isval finally opened his mouth, but then stopped and remained silent as if he was thinking deeply.
Elcia's mind was soon filled with pessimism, where she assumed the worst-case scenario would come out of Isval's mouth. And with that, Elcia inevitably began to feel disappointed. Which he did not realize himself was actually painted faintly on his face; along with a head that was somewhat downcast sad.
". . . will come along too."
Hearing that, Elcia's face suddenly lifted with eyes wide open, then looked at the three with a dazed look.
". . . Huh?"
"What's wrong?" mortred asked with a small laugh looking at Elcia's expression. "We're going to come to Central Terris."
"Well, it's not like we're going to leave a Party member who has to undergo a hellish Quest" Isval added, smiling.
"My quest's not done yet, damn it!" franz shouted in annoyance.
Mortred shrugged his shoulders. "How else do you want? Your quest forbids anyone to help, Franz."
Franz banged his face against the table complaining. "Aaaahh. . This is hell. . ."
In her seat, Elcia was silent for a while without ever thinking about everything completely to her liking. And responding to the feeling from within her heart that became bright, she showed a sweet smile that was almost always hidden behind her flat face.
". . . Thank you." she said quietly with a smile.
—A weapon of mass destruction is suddenly released without a warning.
Moments later, when everyone was conscious, Franz became the first to break the silence; though he now looked like he was having trouble breathing.
"Mr. . . Too. . . ba-nyak. . , guula. . !"
Mortred then followed while turning his slightly flushed face. "That smile. . , that damned smile." he murmured.
Isval only said one word. "Medic."
. . .
Back to the main problem.
After the three agreed to go to Central Terris, they moved to Dandelion. Because Hunger and Thirst they have are on the verge of the limit, along with hunger and must that arise; and at the same time discuss the matter of preparation that will be needed.
"Then, what's the plan?" mortred asked while eating the potato soup he had ordered.
"Find someone else." replied Alice.
"Well, passing through Basmael is like killing ourselves with just the five of us." Isval said, nodding in agreement. "I know some players, what if we recruit them?"
"I will not refuse. But before that, there's a party to be invited to." said Alice, and she continued. "You said earlier that the map we have can be targeted by the players."
"That's how."
"Me and Elcia are going to meet Haru."
"Ah, Sky Chaser. Good choice, they're pretty trustworthy." Isval agreed without thinking.
The two girls themselves chose Haru's group from the start because some calculations about what they had experienced back then had to do with the nine people.
The two recalled the time when they were warned not to enter the Basmael forest because it was dangerous.
Then the part where both were saved from the Wolfpack siege.
Or even given a portion of Drop from Alpha just because they did Last Hit.
Thinking about it, those people had good natures; which although once again Elcia could not be completely sure, at least she could still believe a little.
And now, there are some other calculations added.
First, they finally find out if Haru's group wants a map. With a note that Isval's words are true.
Although they themselves would not release the map to Sky Chaser, it could be used on the negotiation table. That would at least raise their chances of successfully attracting the Sky Chaser to come along.
Second one. In order to add more people to the part of the combined group of players who were about to break through Basmael, the two girls had to have a safeguard; to avoid the map they had being taken by the PK players.
After all, it never hurts to be careful.
And for that, Mortred, Isval and Franz, and Haru and Sky Chaser must be on both sides. Because even if both are strong enough, and are confident with that, they cannot afford to face many players at once — unless what they are dealing with is a bunch of morons.
"You know the meaning of a sentence that says 'Speak of the Devil**'?" isval asked suddenly with a smile.
"Hmm? What indeed?" mortred asked without thinking.
"Speak of the Devil. . ?" repeated Elcia, who then fell silent for a moment to think. And when her brain managed to understand it, the girl saw Isval sending his index finger towards the entrance of Dandelion.
And as they turned their heads in the direction pointed, they immediately saw a group of people enter slowly with each of their weapons; Naginata, Great Sword, War Hammer, Shield, Orb, Dagger, Dagger, Staff and Bow.
Alice could not help herself to say that.
"Speak of the Devil. . !"
