Chapter 3

Rose looked at the watch on her wrist, it was already five in the afternoon. The woman stretched her stiff body from being in a sitting position for too long. Today is Rose's first day working at the company she applied for. The company was not a large company, just a translation office with two floors and ten employees. The woman tidied up her belongings and prepared to pick up the package she had been waiting for.

As Rose had hoped, she received an order to deliver a package from the company yesterday after meeting Annie. Rose had told the customer that she could only pick up the package after work. Rose also drove his motorcycle to the company area. This time the guard immediately allowed Rose to enter without checking her again. Arriving in front of the building, Rose again met the same woman.

The woman smiled when she saw Rose, “Thanks for coming.”

“Not a problem, I get paid to do this. Sorry for the last package,” said Rose.

“Do not think, such things happen quite often in this area. I'm glad you're okay,” said the woman with an awkward smile.

“I will try to get the package to the destination this time,” replied Rose trying to convince.

“I hope you put your safety first. We don't know if they'll hurt you or not.”

“Hahaha, of course,” Rose said stiffly.

Whether it was just her feelings or indeed this woman implying a message that Rose was in danger? Rose did not want to think more about the meaning of the woman's words and chose to leave immediately.

Rose went down the same path as the one he passed last time. It was not that he did not want to find another way, but that this was the only way to the destination address. The girl's green eyes scanned the surroundings carefully. Then he saw some figures had already blocked his path. Rose had no choice but to stop the bike.

“What do you want?” ask Rose.

Despite trying to calm down, Rose was still afraid. The words of the white-haired woman flashed back in her head. What if they hurt her this time? Rose did not have the ability to defend herself.

“Deliver the package and you can go,” said one of them.

From her heavy voice, and body shape, Rose knew she was male. This man also seemed to be their leader.

“What exactly do you want? Why do you guys keep picking up the package I sent?” ask Rose.

“Better you don't need to know,” said the man while gesturing the others, and again Rose could only see them taking the package from him. Rose also noticed that the same bracelet was still worn by one of them.

Rose let them go before taking her HP. The woman opened a tracker app on HP with a smile. “Because of you,” said.

Meanwhile, Elga who was running along with the others suddenly stopped her steps.

“What's El?” ask Zi.

The girl did not reply and instead fiddled with the clock on her wrist. “This is bad brother. Looks like the lady put a tracker on this package. I just turned off the signal with the EMP earlier. But maybe he'll catch up with us soon.”

Zi seemed to think for a while while looking around. This is a quiet area close to the border. No one passes by this area in the afternoon like this. “Let him alone, we go on. He won't be able to find us after you turn off his tracker.”

Elga was silent for a few minutes before saying, “You guys go first, I'll wait here and observe.”

“Alright, let’s go,” Zi said on another. He did not forbid Elga's desire to stay. He knew the girl was worried about the woman's courier. Because this is a dangerous area, and something could have happened to him.

Ten minutes after Zi and the others left the place, Rose arrived. The woman observes the last signal from the tracker she put up. There was nothing there, only a quiet street and apartment building in the distance. Rose clicked her tongue, apparently the pack takers knew she was following them.

Rose will not give up. The woman started looking around the area. He carefully observed every possible place that could be used as a hideout. He also looked at the map on HP to ascertain its current position. After an hour of searching, there was still nothing he could find. Meanwhile, the day is getting darker, and there is less and less light. Many of the street lights are not on, only one or two are functioning properly.

Elga turned her head and looked at Zi who was following her onto the roof of the apartment building. “Yes, it's almost dark. This woman is quite stubborn,” replied Elga.

“Maybe he will give up soon, no tone he can find when the day really goes dark.”

Sure enough what Zi said, because in the end Rose decided to leave that place.

“Who did you say the name of the courier was?” tanya Zi broke the silence.

“Rose, Rose Nightingale's. You're interested in him, sister?” ask Elga.

“No, it's just that we'll deal with him more often. There is no harm in knowing his name.”

Elga only looked at her brother with squinting eyes. Don't suppose just because of her younger age she couldn't recognize the spotlight of interest that was on Zi. But the girl decided to keep quiet. Who knows if this attraction will last long or not.

The next day, Rose left the office on her lunch break. He went straight to Annie's school. Arriving there, he told the picket teacher who was guarding that he wanted to meet with Elga. Rose even admitted that she was Elga's only family to meet the girl.

A few moments later Elga appeared before him. The look on his face changed when he saw Rose who wanted to see him. “What are you here for?” ask with ketus.

“I need a minute with you,” Rose said.

“What do you need to do to lie to my teacher?”

“I want to ask why you took the package?” ask Rose directly to the point.

“What do you mean? What package?” elga answered with a confused look.

“Have you no longer need to pretend, I saw you yesterday when you picked up the package I brought. More precisely I saw the person wearing the same bracelet as you. You told me the bracelet wasn't for sale everywhere."

Hearing Rose's words, Elga's countenance turned expressionless. “Sorry I don't know what you're saying. I didn't take any packages from you, and maybe someone else has the same bracelet as me. Besides you can't accuse me just because of this bracelet. If there's nothing else you want to say, I'll excuse you. My class has started.”

Rose only looked at Elga's departure with a sharp look. “Heh, just wait for the afternoon. I'll uncover your lies later.”

Rose had already received an order from the company again, and this time she would put something in the package that Elga would not have expected.

In the afternoon.

Rose stopped the bike a few meters after picking up the package at the company. He opened the trunk of his motorbike and took out the fake package he had prepared and exchanged it for the original package. Rose then resumed her journey. Suddenly in the middle of the trip, his motorcycle tire leaked. Rose stopped the bike and saw a large nail lodged in the tire.

“Shit!” maki Rose's. He was convinced that the ones who put the nail on the road were the pack-takers again.

Sure enough, when Rose checked his motorcycle tyre, a figure quickly approached his bike and picked up the package he was carrying.

“Hei! Stop!” scream Rose.

However the figure continued to run and left Rose.

“Sial! How's this?” Rose could not catch up with the figure quickly because of the condition of the bike.

After a moment of confusion, Rose sidestepped his bike and locked it. The woman then followed the GPS on her HP. After half an hour of following, Rose stopped in a quiet residential area. Again, he found no one there. Rose pressed the call button on her phone. Moments later, a loud ringing sound was heard from Rose's right alley.

Rose rushed towards the ringing sound. While there he saw a figure that was tearing apart his package and slamming the HP that was embroidered in it onto the ground. The figure turned towards Rose with an angry look.

“You tricked me?!” he said with anger.

“Why are you angry? I should have been the one that got angry because you took my package. Don't know anything eh? See who's caught red-handed now?” rose said in a mocking tone. Yes, the figure caught red-handed was Elga.

“You!” elga said as she was about to attack Rose.

However, suddenly a figure stopped Elga. The tall figure stood up and restrained Elga's body.

“Stop,” he said.

“But brother,” protest Elga.

“You don't really want to hurt him El. Remember what you said yesterday to me,” said the man.

Elga was forced to stop what she was doing, and looked resentfully at Rose. The man who stopped Elga also saw Rose. From her voice, Rose knew that this man was their leader.

“Rose right? Forgive us these few days of constantly picking up your package. But we have a reason for that,” he said.

“Who are you?” ask Rose.

“My name is Nicholaz Addams, you can call me Zi. Can we talk for a minute?”

“Why should I talk to you guys? You guys are just package thieves,” Rose said.

“You should talk to us because you are in danger. Hows it? Do you have free time now?”
