Chapter 12's

“Rose,” call a man on Rose.

Rose looked over and looked at her lover, Felix. The man looked at her with an angry face. I don't know how many times the man was angry at Rose. The relationship between the two of them has not been good lately. They often argue because of differences of opinion. Rose felt that Felix could not understand what he was feeling, while Felix thought that Rose was too childish.

Like this time, Felix and himself again quarreled over trivial matters. However the man became even more furious as he saw Rose cry.

“Can you stop crying? I'm tired of seeing you cry for trivial things. You made it like I hurt you badly or abusing you. Is that what you want?!” snapped it.

“I don’t mean that. I just feel sad because we fought. I don’t want to fight with you,” Rose said as she sobbed.

“Then stop f***crying crying!”

Rose covered her mouth with her hands, trying to hide her stuffing. But the tears of the woman were still flowing. His eyes filled with fear and hurt. He never thought his girlfriend would behave like this.

“Let’s break up,” Rose said in a trembling voice.

There's no point in staying in this relationship if all she gets is pain and tears. Rose stroked her arm that was covered by the shirt slowly. Behind the clothes he was wearing, hidden scars due to violence committed by Felix. The man had already injured her physically and mentally.

“What did you say?!” scream Felix.

“I said, let’s break up. I can't stand you anymore if we keep going like this. You hurt me, you make me broken, and I can’t take it anymore.”

Felix looked at Rose with a sharp gaze, before smiling widely, “Oh, my dear Rose... You think you can just walk away from me?” he said while holding tightly to Rose's arm.

“Let me go! You’re hurting me!” rose said in rebellion.

“If you still want to be safe stop struggling,” said Felix while tightening his grip.

“I said let me go!” rose shouted, the woman then bit Felix's hand until it bled.

“Argh!” scream Felix.

Rose seized the opportunity to run away from Felix. However, before he made it out of the house, a heavy object hit him from behind and knocked him down. Rose felt a wet liquid seeping in her head. Withstanding the pain, he saw the blood already pooled on the floor.

In her heart Rose wondered if she was going to die? But there were still many things he wanted to do, he was even twenty-four years old.

“I told you to stop revolting if you still want to survive right? Look at your condition now,” said Felix who has now stopped in front of Rose.

The man crouched down and gripped Rose's face. “Do not worry, it will end soon.”

Rose kept on opening her increasingly heavy eyes. A feeling of unwillingness filled his heart. He can't die now, at least he has to avenge Felix. Rose's hand clasped Felix's right leg trembling.

“Heh, what are you going to do? You can’t do anything to me with your condition.”

Rose still clasped Felix's feet, in her heart she repeated the desire to avenge Felix before her consciousness slowly disappeared.

“I told you-” Rose could not hear the continuation of the man's words because she suddenly felt her grasped legs disappear.

Rose squinted her eyes, trying to focus on the remnants of consciousness, Felix was not in front of her. The man disappeared somewhere. Rose did not think long how could a grown man just disappear. The first thing Rose did was call an ambulance for herself before she was unconscious.

A few days later, when Rose regained consciousness, there were already police officers waiting for her. Rose told me what happened. The police officer doubted Rose's description, impossible Felix just disappeared. But as there was no CCTV on the scene, police concluded that Felix fled in fear after attacking Rose.

Rose woke up with tears streaming down her cheeks. The woman had just had a dream about the incident she had experienced a year ago. Now Rose knows where Felix went. He must have accidentally moved the man into the void. From what Leah explained, it must be that the man is dead by now. Rose felt a mixed feeling. On the one hand he felt Felix deserved such an end, on the other he felt guilty for taking Felix's life, albeit by accident.

“Rose?” call Leah.

“Sorry, I had a bad dream earlier,” Rose muttered in a hoarse voice.

“What's wrong, how do you feel?”

“I'm fine, what's up Leah?”

“I'm here to check on you, and also, our chairman would like to meet you.”

“Chairman?”

“Wait, what happened after that? I did that in front of a lot of people."

“Don’t worry, we have erased the memory of eyewitnesses.”

“That’s good. When should I meet with the chairman?”

“She wants to meet you as soon as you’re wake. So, if you feel better, you can follow me now.”

“Alright, can you call someone to take off this infusion?” rose pointed at his hand.

“No need, I will release it for you.”

“Are you a nurse, Leah?”

“I’m the head nurse actually. I worked at my family clinic,” Leah said with a smile.

Rose observed Leah's movements deftly removing the infusion needle in her hand. The woman breathed a sigh of relief after her needle came off. He really dislikes infusions. It's better for him to be injected than to get an infusion.

After changing into new clothes, washing her face, and brushing her teeth, Rose followed Leah towards a building. The building was one-story and looked like an ordinary office. Inside the building, there was a meeting room, a room with several tables and computers, and a room with a large table. A woman sat behind the table with a pile of paper in front of her.

“Chairman, I brought Rose here,” Leah said.

The woman raised her head and looked towards them. Rose couldn't help but be surprised when she saw the woman's face. Although Rose had already heard and seen that the Noctacian family had a beautiful and handsome face, this woman's beauty exceeded Rose's expectations. Her face could even defeat the famous model that Rose knew.

“Sit,” said the woman briefly.

Rose could see from her facial expression that this woman did not like pleasantries. Sure enough, as soon as Rose and Leah sat in the woman's seat immediately asked a question.

“So, what is he a threat?” ask Leah.

“No, he's not a threat. He just needs to learn to control his power. So far, progress has been pretty good.”

“Still, it means she can’t control her power now. Are you going to guarantee him?”

“Yes. I've prepared an artifact that will limit his strength as long as he's still learning.”

“Good. Now, you, your name is Rose right?”

“Yes ma’am.”

“I don't care how your past is, and what your purpose is. But if until you become a threat, I will get rid of you right then and there. You understand?”

“I understand.”

“In addition, I hope you can contribute to this village because we provide protection to you. I'll tell you what you should do once you've been able to control that power. I hope you will prepare her soon, Leah.”

“Will I work,” says Leah.

“I will do that. I will help this village in exchange of your protection,” replied Rose.

“Alright, both of you are dismissed,” says the woman.

Leah hinted Rose to leave, while the woman again drowned in the papers before her.

“That was unnerving,” Rose said after they walked away from the building.

“Rose?” call Leah.

“Hmm?”

“Welcome to this village,” he said with a smile.

“Yeah...” Rose replied with a smile back.
