Chapter 13

A girl kneels in a room. In front of the girl was a table with several lit candles and a goat head placed in the middle of a circle with various symbols. The table was right in front of the wall with a black upside-down cross. The girl muttered a few words that sounded like prayer but were more sinister.

“Praise the lord satan,” said the girl ended her prayer.

“Do you feel it?” ask another girl who knows when she's been in the room.

“Yes, I felt the vortex gate open. Finally the moment we are waiting for has arrived.”

“I feel the location is in Noctacian village. If we go there and investigate the strange events that just happened, we can find them easily.”

“Noctacian Village huh? Do you think this has anything to do with them?” the first girl asked.

“It doesn’t matter, the lord has ordered us to capture the vortex user. If they get in our way, we'll get rid of them,” said the second girl.

Meanwhile in a building.

“Leah,” call a woman.

Leah turned her head and saw her brother Ennid standing behind her. Her green irises looked at Leah seriously.

“What's up brother?”

“I heard no vortex user appeared.”

“Yes, I’m teaching her.”

“Be careful, you know that they’re looking for her.”

“I know that, I predict they will immediately search here as soon as it detects that gate.”

“Have you told this to that man?”

“Not yet, I guess there's no need to scare him with this. It is our duty to prevent hexians from getting vortex.” users

“Still you have to tell him, he needs to know that he is targeted.”

“Iya, I'll tell him later.”

Suddenly Ennid and Leah turned their heads in one direction simultaneously.

Rose put her head on the table. Today the library is quiet and visitors are rare. He felt bored and lazy to read books, after opening social media without a purpose, now he felt sleepy. The woman knew very well, when she felt anxious or afraid, there was no way she could be bored.

Her green eyes glanced at the watch she was wearing, there was still two hours left before the bell went off.

The woman raised her head and smiled shyly at the girl before her. He secretly hoped the girl would not protest.

“There can be helped?” ask Rose.

The girl before him did not seem to be this schoolgirl. It was evident from the casual clothes he was wearing. Maybe this girl came here to ask directions to the teacher's room.

“Are you Rose?” ask the girl.

Rose looked at the girl before her with a suspicious look. Who is this girl? How does he know his name?

“And you are?”

The girl smiled and showed both dimples on her cheeks. His purple eyes narrowed.

“I'm Nella, can I talk to you for a minute? Don't worry, I didn't mean to be evil.”

“Sorry, but I can't. I don't know you,” Rose said.

“Honey once,” said Nella still smiling.

“What do you mean?”

Suddenly Rose felt her eyes become heavy, herself trying to fight the drowsiness that attacked her. Rose tried to use her vortex to stay awake. Slowly, the drowsiness that attacked him disappeared.

“As expected of vortex user,” says Nella.

“But that’s only the start.”

“I will ask you to stop there,” a voice interrupted them.

“Oh, you come fade than I thought.”

“Leah?” mumbling Rose.

“It’s okay Rose, you will be safe.”

“I won’t be that sure if I’m you, witch.”

“I don’t need to hear critics from a devil servant.”

“If you give me this vortex user obediently, I can consider leaving your corpse intact.”

“Rose?” call Leah.

“Ya?”

“Go on, swallow her.”

“Huh? But I don't know how.”

“You know, just bring up a strong intention in you. You're tired of being targeted, right? This is your chance to protect yourself.”

“Hah! You think this woman can swallow me? He's just a rookie and weak. I’ll make both of you regret for underestimating me.”

“Now Rose!”

Rose saw everything that happened with a confused look. How could he possibly do what Leah had asked spontaneously?

“Quick!” yell Leah again.

Leah and the girl clash with their own magic. Rose could not clearly see what kind of magic they cast, because all she saw was a moment where two different lights collided. Some of the light hit the items in the library and destroyed them. One of the magic cast by the foreign girl managed to avoid the magic that Leah controlled, and headed for Rose.

“Rose!” shout Leah.

Rose knew that she didn't have enough time to escape. The woman closed her eyes and expended all the energy she had to swallow the magic. It's his only chance of survival.

“You...!” yelled the girl who attacked Rose.

Rose opened her eyes and saw almost half of the library disappear, leaving a large hole.

“Leah!” rose shouted anxiously. Was the girl swallowed up by him?

Before Rose could feel worried a voice replied, “I'm here.”

Rose approached the origin of the sound, and saw Leah sitting among the ruins of the building. “You okay?” tanyakanya.

“Yes, I’m good. That was close.”

“How about the girl?” ask Rose.

“I no longer feel its presence around here. Looks like you managed to swallow it. What do you feel?”

“I feel very heavy and tight, stronger than the previous one.”

“That's normal, you just swallowed a hexian. Maybe you'll feel that way for a few days until the hexian dies.”

“Do I have to wait for the hexian to die? Can't I get it out and you can hold it?”

“Delivering something that is already in the void is more difficult than entering it. Besides, he was trying to kill us both earlier. I know you're still not used to all this, but this is the reality you're facing right now. Kill or to be killed.”

Rose was silent at Leah's words. He knew very well that sooner or later he had to defend his life by killing others. Even if he didn't kill them directly. But all of this made him feel guilty.

“I don’t know if I will get used to that,” murmured.

“We can work on that later. For now we have to clean up this mess,” said Leah while looking at the library building which is now only half left.

“Yeah, you’re right,” Rose said guiltily.
