Chapters 10

“Hey brother, how about that woman?” ask Elga.

“Oh, right. I almost forgot,” Zi said patting her forehead.

The man walked out of the building and met Rose who was still holding the gun in her hand with a tense face.

“Oi, it’s done,” Zi said.

“Huh? Already done?”

“Yes, let's go inside to see your Elf friend.”

Rose walked following Zi, “Ugh,” her groan resisted vomiting.

The red-haired woman couldn't help but feel nauseous when she saw flesh and blood spills everywhere. Especially when he saw Shane chewing meat with his leisure.

“Where's Gina?” rose asked, turning her face away.

“She’s upstair. I smell someone with her, he bring iron knife,” Elga said.

“It's easy, we can subdue him before he does anything. Let me do that,” said Shane.

“Don't be rash, he should have heard the commotion we're doing downstairs. But instead of running away, he stayed on guard,” Zi said.

“Maybe he knows, even if he runs away, he will get caught too? Safer to threaten us with hostages,” timpal Elga.

“We will know after seeing it directly. Come on, I want to finish this soon,” grumbled Shane.

They also walked to Gina's place. Arriving on the second floor, Rose's eyes widened with the scenery. Gina's tiny body was tied with iron wire, around her neck a knife with blood dripping. It seemed that the knife had already sliced Gina's neck deep enough.

“Stop there or I kill this Elf,” said the man holding the knife.

“Sure, just do it,” Zi said casually.

“Hei! What are you saying?!” protest Rose.

“You see, personally I don’t care about that Elf. So did the two Noctacians who were with me. The only one who cared about the Elves was only this woman. So, if your target is us, you're making the wrong threat.”

“Are you going to let your friend die?” ask the man to Rose.

“If you want this Elf to survive, take the knife on your right and stab the monsters.”

Rose bit her lips hard. He couldn't possibly comply with the man's request, but he couldn't let Gina die in front of him either. He promised Gina to protect him. Rose glanced at the three creatures that came with her, she was confused as to why they were now doing nothing after coming this far. Even Shane who had seemed impatient was now crossing his hands, like waiting for something interesting to happen.

“Quick!” the man snapped while pressing the knife he held against Gina's neck. More blood came out of the wound.

“Are you going to see him die just like me?” a whisper was heard in Rose's ear.

Rose knew the whisper was not real, it was only on her mind. But once the whisper comes back, Rose can't stop the flash of the past that haunts her.

“Are you going to let him die?” whisper that voice again.

“No.. NO...NO....!” rose covered her ears with both hands.

“I think she’s snapped kak,” Elga said.

“Maybe it’s too much for her,” timpal Shane.

“Just wait,” Zi said.

“What are you doing?! Quickly prick them!” shouted the kidnapper.

“I SAID, STOP IT!!!” scream Rose.

Suddenly, Zi, Elga and Shane felt like their heads were hurting. Shane coughed, Elga held her stomach, while Zi covered her nose. The man who had been holding Gina hostage was now lying covered in blood.

“What just happened?” ask Elga. His stomach felt pierced by an invisible needle.

The three of them looked towards Rose.

“Hey, what was that?” ask Shane.

But Rose did not answer the man's question. The woman stepped towards Gina with a blank look.

“Rose, are you okay?” said Zi. Something's wrong here.

Rose raised her right hand and placed it over the kidnapper's body. “I’ll protect her..” murmur.

Suddenly the body of the kidnapper who was still lying just disappeared. Meanwhile, Rose fell unconscious.

“What the hell?” Shane.

“Did you see that? The body suddenly vanished,” said Elga.

“Yes.. I think Rose did that,” Zi said.

“What is precisely this girl? Is she a threat?” ask Elga.

“She is human, but she has special ability. I think we should see the Mavis family for this case.”

“You predicted this right? That’s why you signed us not to do anything,” says Elga.

“Ugh...” Rose groans when opening her eyes. His head felt dizzy and his stomach was like being stirred. He had not felt this sensation for a long time since it happened a year ago.

“Ah, are you awake?” said a voice that taka sing.

“Hazel?” mumbling Rose.

“I'm glad you still remember me. You are in the village clinic now.”

“What happened?” ask Rose.

“You don't remember? You fell unconscious after saving your friend.”

“Ah! Gina!” said Rose.

“Slow down, your friend is still sleeping in the next room.”

“Is she okay?”

“She is fine, she will recover soon in three days.”

“Thank God..” said Rose heaved a sigh of relief.

“I'm sorry to have to say this, but there are some Noctacians who want to talk to you.”

Rose was silent for a moment, “This is about what I did?”

“I don't know for sure, but don't worry. As long as you have no bad intentions, you will be fine,” Hazel said.

“Sure, can I meet them here? I don't think I can move too much.”

“Of course, wait a minute. I'll call them here.”

A few moments later.

A twenty-year-old-looking girl looked at Rose with a smile. His brown eyes looked at Rose with a friendly gaze. “Hai, your name is Rose right?”

Rose nodded as she observed the girl in front of her. His wavy black hair was unraveled with a red pincer pinned to his head. “Include, my name is Leah.”

“Am I in trouble?” ask Rose.

“No, don't be too scared. I'm just here to ask you a few things.”

“Okay..”

“Is yesterday the first time you used your ability?”

“No... I first used it a year ago.”

“You can control it?”

Rose turned her gaze to the wall, feeling she was unable to stare at the girl in front of her. For some reason, it felt like the girl could see into her soul.

“No...” replied Rose weaned.

“I see's. Do you know what your abilities are?”

“No. Gina said she would tell me, but..”

“So so. Then I guess I can tell you now. From what we've learned and what you do, you have Vortex.”

“What is it?”

“Vortex is the ability to move anything to Void. Void itself is a vacuum, anything that goes in there will not be able to come back again unless you remove them.”

“You mean like walking black hole?”

“Truely, if the owner of the vortex can not control themselves, they will move objects around them without them knowing. Ranging from small objects such as pencils to large objects such as buildings.”

“How about people's body?”

“It was also.”

“Even if they're alive?”

“Yes, even if they're alive they won't last long there. Humans will probably only survive a day if they are ingested.”

Rose's face became increasingly pale along with Leah's explanation. Leah patted Rose's clenched hand gently.

“Do not worry, we can help you to control your ability.”

Rose looked at Leah with a determined gaze.“Please, teach me.”

“Sure,” replied Leah with a smile.
